On youtube there is a "vid" ..well audio only, that isolates guitar, bass and drums respectivley of THE POLICE (roxanne I think) you can hear alsorts of overspill (vox, drums ect) and stuff, a few fluffed bits too. You can hearSting using a pick click to help him count ,allsorts. interesting to a fan!! Ive heard it a few times Ill look for it and try to embed it unless anyone gets there first!!

"It's also interesting to note that those who say their MILF, FILF, BILF, etc. threads display a great sense of humour appear to lose that sense of humour at the first sign of criticism." Snort!! that's so.... TYPICAL "RIK": " OH! God I'M SO FUNNY!!! you people are, dried up losers!! and just don't get me cos Im CRAZY!!! I just don't care what I say you know,...you know Im SO funny...all my mates say so and every thing....." well, pretty spot on, really. mind you, who likes a critic?
i like this,,great drumming.......dont like Damien Irskine though...his playing does my head in...just stop it man!!!!! too much technique and no groove...ive never seen so much talent go waste by stupid jazz noodling, that gives everything to his ego and nothing to the music...he doesnt fool me.... awfull..IMHO
thats not a particularly "humble" opinion though is it? IMO (assuming Ive got what IMHO means!!)
Reminds me of a story I've told on here before. In the 80s, during Mark King mayhem, a customer we knew came into our shop with a face like a slapped arse. He was an absolute King fanatic - same bass, same rig, gaffer tape on his thumb, everything. We asked him what was up. He said he'd just been sacked at a band rehearsal for slapping 'House Of The Rising Sun'.
I'm a big "king fan" but even I'd have sacked, anyone, even, the govnor for that play it like it says on the tin.
Fans are savvy enough to know you're overplaying. Keep the chops in the butchers.
yup, what he said. play the tune the way it was recorded even if you dont "agree" with it. hope you get the gig btw!!
If it's any help, I've had a similar experience with two Trace amps; an AH300, and a V-Type AH600. Both amps started distorting badly, and losing power, then completely quit, and filled the rehearsal room with choking smoke! On both amps, the power amp board was completely fried, and needed complete new boards. The tech who repaired my V-Type said that there was a complete lack of protection in the power amp board, and when one component blue, it took everything out with it! Might be something completely different on your amp, thats just the experiences that I have had
Jesus!!!! this is a quite old (tranny) mark4 amp (ah500 gp11) really well built, but your thoughts are worth bearing in mind so thanks W
I don't know if GMAudio are still in business? - The guy there was/is a Trace expert. If you don't mind shipping I can recommend Steve Rowse without hesitation - he's brilliant. - http://www.stevesamps.co.uk
Thanks again for more options H shipping isnt a problem if it gets fixed!!! thanks will let you know the eventual outcome! W ps will goolgle GM ( that sounds familiar )
MB1. ...KWIM? ...Just Figured it!......Know What I mean!
Hello? Hello? Mcfly????? come on mb1 !!! wasnt it you who pointed me in the BC direction in the first place? love it here, but tech response on this hasn't been good........most likely my bad description of fault? lack of mithering and the fact that "hands on diagnostics" will allways be best in the scheme of things. still..... who can fix my amp?? who is good at this stuff? it keeps distorting a clean signal (in a Bad way)and losing power.....phwwwww
-
what is worth a mention is Pino P's fretless doodle on Nick Heywards middle 8 of "Take that situation" circa '82/83 I couldn't find it on youtube but ...christ..... I love that stuff!! the whole bass line "drips" groove ... Pino..........up there with the VERY best....

My TE AH500 still isn't "right" after 2 reasonable and trusted amp techs have looked at it. (havent taken it back to either cos work commitments meant Ive left it too long to do so reasonably) anybody any reccomendations? north west england. after the independant tech, route, I would also consider the "bigger" company approach KWIM?thanks W btw checked: cabs, cables ect

Anybody know what has happened to the gear of any famous late lamented bass player,or any other player ,come to think of it,for real? ..you know... who got any of the Ox's stuff? that P bass of Phil lynott? Jacos (booze pedald) jazz? Cliff Burtons stuff..or err.... well you get the picture......any good player I know Jamersons funk machine has gone forever for example.... I know Its a bit on the morbid side but I bet I'm not the only one who wants to know! not only bass stuff, either, any ex's "ex" gear stories? whatever they played?
