Hi Dave, It's sad to read you're not enjoying playing bass, still... with a mid life crisis you buy a Harley (...or Ducati -guilty-) but you don't sell the bass that makes you will probably regret for the rest of your life everytime when you touch some other bass. I do not believe that a Stingray is going to give you that pleasure after this MTD. (no offence to the people that play this great bass, but the MTD is as I believe of a higher standard) If I may.... If you can afford it, keep it, I should say. I believe that good times always come back, but maybe in another way. So I believe you will pick up this bass again sooner or later, and than you are glad that you didn't sell this beauty. (the invitation still stands ) Cheers Ron

On December 7 2011 Mark promised again to refund my money by the end of the month, but still nothing has happened... If anybody knows Mark McMillan... maybe he needs a reminder, he doesn't listen to friendly requests from me.

I have no intention to put out the dirty trash, but to resolve a problem I tried all kinds of communication but I cannot get in touch with Mark, he doesn't react on my e-mails on several addresses, even myspace... If somebody can help me out... please! Mark has sold me some Bartolini pick-ups but they didn't arrive, I would like to solve this, especially because the sending was insured he said, but he ignores me. Right now I have got no other choice then to get a claim via paypal... I'm very disappointed it has to be in this way!! Mark, if you read this: get in touch with me and let's solve this like honest people, in that case I will make a full correction on this feedback.

Thanks Mark! I appreciate your trust of doing business with someone "overseas" We had good and fast communication and worked it out fine, Mark is a straight forward person, no worries at all. Cheers! Ron

Hi I got one new for € 125,- I use it with pro-tools on a Mac and am very pleased with it. It's not top, faders make some noise, but the alternative is much more expensive. have fun!

I really can't understand why nobody is stunned about this wonderful piece of craftsmanship! There 's a whole cd for grab with a sensational level of bass playing... check this out!!!
QUOTE (BASIC5 @ Dec 2 2010, 07:16 AM) * Thanks guys and Miss Yorick?? Ron... that's just my avatar!!!! Nige
of course I apologize !!

Thanks guys and Miss Yorick?? @ Daz: I like your under script, but I want the extra string for the lows, sounds much better, feel better with it. The Mike Lull is a high standard bass, like Sadowsky, or maybe Overwater. Never played on the last one, but I reckon that's a good comparison. If you have the chance to try the ML, it is just a matter of time... Cheers!

Cheers! Thought it was time to make a proper introduction, after a while looking around on the forum. my name is Ron and I live in the land of dutchies. I started with the bass at 13 year old and now some 30 years later, still enjoy it. My heart lies with the jazz/ funk like Incognito / Mezzoforte and I am starting a band in this style. The gear: the Markbass is changed to a Aguilar SC500 on the two GS112's a wonderful old Tobias basic5 like you see on the avatar. a heavily modified fretless Washburn 6-string, a double bass, which doesn't leave the house not on this picture; an Ibanez BTB456 6-string with a Noll-preamp, 4 string Kramer My main bass is a Mike Lull M5V. After a visit at Bass People in Sydney (great shop!!) I fell for this bass, always thought that it was just another Fender copy, but NOT! have a good one! Ron
Well... £1300 is a lot of money (regardless of the value of the bass) so there are only going to be a limited number of people with that kind of cash... ...and for those with the cash, there are a LOT of great basses with very modest price tags at the moment. ...and you're in Belgium which means anyone interested, has no-chance to try it which is not ideal for an expensive bass. And being in Belgium just adds shipping onto the price. Plus difficulty if the buyer is dissapointed. It may be one, or all of these reasons. ...or maybe it's overpriced. I dunno. I was interested enough to look myself, but will probably keep looking for something for a while longer. Ironically I may be in the market for a clunky old Fender if I can see the right one. But it's a buyers market at the moment so I'll sit tight for a while I reckon. Good luck with the sale. I would suggest patience. I'm sure the right person will come along, but you may have to wait. Andy
If I may...... It seems like your're so far away from the rest of the EU and it is something scary. I bought my bass in Switzerland and drove all the way just to check this wonderfull bass. If it was crap I would have left it there. Still, after some 7 years now, I don't regret the trip and treasure this bass. For an important instrument in GB I would do the same, the tunnel is something like 50 pounds for a day retour and going to the south of GB is the same distance for me as going to france or Germany, not a big deal to the value and pleasure you will have on getting a fine instrument. There are no worries for taxes or things like that. If you see a fine instrument, go for it. my 2 cts.... Cheers!

bought an Aguilar GS112 cover from Lee and was very pleased to do business with him overseas. International banking was not a problem and everything went smooth as a my wife's bottum... Cheers Ron
