1. Shouldnt be too hard to acquire one.
2. I wonder what happened to it, it didn't come with a case when I bought it, hence the old hiscox just to ship it in
3. Hmm, looks very familiar that does! Might put the white one back on at some point, depends if i get bored of the black one.
4. No, came to me in an old beat up yamaha branded hiscox liteflite, just for protection in shipping.
5. Its is! Noticably lighter than my '77 too.
6. I used jazz bass pickup mounting foam on my '77, it's about the right dimensions and has a self adhesive backing, so just cut it to length. Works a treat!
7. Hehe. I'll never part with either of mine now, I've finally found what for me is as near to bass perfection as it gets.
8. My two '77 and '82, bad quality pics from my phone at the min I'm afraid.
9.
Have you got my old baby Foxx? 82 white pickguard sounds like it, old horse murphy in the mix somewhere? That is the best pre EB I have ever played if it is!
I dunno, it could be. I bought it from the gallery couple of months back, it was a commission sale they did for someone, though I don't know who.
10.
Got the last ones I'm afraid. But pickguard heaven in the states will do them and they are pretty reasonable . Bloke from Ernie Ball recommended them. Great about your bass, natural isn't it. My 77 is definitely not immaculate but it's still in good condition for a bass of that age.
It is a natural finish, came with a white pickguard originally, I just prefer the look of the black ones.
11. My '82 is looks pretty immaculate until you get up close, theres a couple of small marks, but ive seen newish basses in far worse shape. still pleased as punch I got it. Did the place you got those guards from have any more left do you know?
12. Thanks for the offer, not after relic'd though.
13. I don't suppose you fancy selling one do you if you have a surplus now? , I've been looking for one myself, no luck so far. I've had to make do with a black later type one, and on a natural bass that truss rod cutout shows up sadly.
Is it my old one? Id like to keep tabs on it if it is
If it had a white pickguard and was in the gallery, natural finish?

Thanks for the kind words chaps, it is a beauty, but alas it must go to pay for the '82 stingray that replaced it.
16.
Do you still have the original pickguard?
Sorry mate, long since gone.
17. I have one of these, bought brand new in 1999 for £350 ish, there were 3 left reduced to clear at the time in fairdeal in brum. They were a short run made in that year only from what little info I've found on them, as chilliwailer said, they are a mix of parts from US and mexico, the whole lot being finished, assembled etc in the USA factory, I changed the pickguard on mine to standard jazz config, as i never liked the all over white one, changed the pots for full size CTS ones, as it had those mini pots fitted as standard, otherwise it's stock, the neck is superb and the body is very resonant. I'd never part with mine, was my first proper good quality bass, and still puts some US standards to shame in terms of fit and finish, the others i've come across have all had good reviews, and seem consistent. snap his hand off, I would.
