3. Have posted some further pics from Happy Jacks original ad when he sold it a few years ago>
 4. I have been wrestling with the Rick fretless occasionally and sadly cannot see me gigging it or unfortunately an eub..............thanks for the suggestion though !
 5. If I hadnt picked up the Celinder I would be keeping all 8 basses but it does seem overkill for it to sit in it's case, it is in remarkable condition and sounds great but should be enjoyed by someone and played regularly !
 6. To answer a PM re the fretboard it is rosewood and has no indentations or marks caused by roundwounds and is fitted with black nylon coated atrings at present. Somebody will fall in love with this bass I am sure, if my band played anything that I could remotely contemplate using it for it would remain in the herd !
 7. Rickenbacker and fretless are not words usually seen together............this is an outstanding bass particularly as it I in essence a 63 RI and sounds superb, I can compare it very favourably with my other 99 4001 V63 (also acquired from Beedster who knows his basses) Needs a new home and someone to lavish the attention it deserves, more pics available if needed.
 8. Outstanding McCartney lookalike bass from 1964 in fantastic museum condition almost as new (not even had a strap button inserted on heel) The original German retailer label remains on the rear of the headstock and the bass comes with the original soft case and leather strap as well as a recent shaped case. This is the McCartney sound in spades and if you perform Beatles numbers this is undoubtedly the bass for you. The signature deep thump but very clear note articulation. However this is not a "one trick pony" but no good for slapping ! No issues whatsoever and aside from a couple of scatches at top of headstock it is immaculate. It also has the single piece back which Hofner only fitted between 64 and 65 and is stunning. Deciding to thin the herd was a hard decision this bass should be played not having occasional use in my home studio. Looking for 1350 GBP delivered (personally down MI/A1 corridor or NW/NE England) or pick up or meet, i would be reluctant to courier this valuable instrument. I am aware of the current resell market but at this price it will be a bargain for someone both collector and player. This was one of Happy Jacks prized possessions and he knows his Hofners, so I have taken the liberty of posting some of his pics as well, I am sure he will understand !
 9. Probably the best fretless Rickenbacker ever appearing on this forum ! Shaggy and Beedster lovingly upgraded this 4003 fretless to V63 spec and described it here: "So essentially;

2005 Rickenbacker 4003 FL (fretless) in mapleglo (natural), almost blemish-free; only defect is 2mm ding on rear of body so small I couldn’t get it to show in a close-up pic
Walnut headstock “wings”
VT tone circuit
Fretless lacquered rosewood fingerboard, side dot markers on 1/3/5/7/9/12 etc fret positions. Has always been strung with flats, so board unmarked
Brand new Rickenbacker bridge pickup and cover and original Horseshoe imported from US
Vintage late ‘60’s Rickenbacker toaster neck p/up fitted. (see how much the new ones cost on ebay, then see how much vintage Ric parts cost!)
WD Music cellulose 5-ply tortoiseshell 2-piece pickguard just fitted, imported from the US. This is the proper vintage quality tort material, far superior to modern acrylic. and tort p/guards were offered on some vintage Rics.
“Fretless” and “Rickenbacker” aren’t normally included in the same sentence, which is a real shame; they're so playable, the all-maple and neck-thru construction make for fantastic sustain, and the single-coil pickups are wonderfully articulate. The vintage toaster p/up in particular gives a fabulously deep, warm, double-bassy growl. and this is an astonishing sounding bass and equally good on the eye as it is in pristine condition". Having acquired a Celinder Jazz Classic which has blown me away I have decided to slim down the herd as this need to be played not just stored in my studio for a rare outing. No trades but can be delivered to your door for a reduced price of £1000 , possibly in person if you are down M1/A1 corridor on NE/NW England. This is a rare instrument and will not disappoint as Beedster or Shaggy I am sure would confirm.
 10. Am about to offer my Ric 4003 fretless, upgraded by Bass Chats legendary Beedster with toaster and horseshoe pick up (so like a v63 ri) and my 64 Hofner 500/1 violin bass to buy this baby to complement my Celinder Jazz Classic BUMP
