11. My ungigged, rarely taken out of its Gibson Case (bought on a whim again) SG Standard in a limited run of 300 worldwide. From Gibson: From the minute it hit an unsuspecting guitar scene in 1961, the Gibson SG was destined to be a classic. This sleek double-cutaway rocker had a slim, light body but no shortage of power, and the kind of fast playability that the guitar world had not previously experienced. Although the single-cutaway Les Paul that it had replaced would be back in play later in the '60s, the SG was here to stay, a new rock icon in its own right. Now Gibson USA presents a classically appointed SG with all of the tone, features and playability of the original vintage model, but dressed in two killer new nitrocellulose finishes: the SG Standard Sam Ash Exclusive, available in your choice of Bullion Gold with gold hardware, or Pelham Blue with chrome hardware. Both are crafted from traditional tonewoods and carry classic electronics and hardware, for timeless tone and power that has made its presence felt for five decades. Like the original SGs of the '60s and all of the classic variations since, the Gibson USA SG Standard Sam Ash Exclusive has a body crafted from solid mahogany in the asymmetrical “double-horned” deep double-cutaway design. A light and supremely resonant wood, mahogany gives this guitar outstanding tonal richness and depth, with plenty of clarity and sustain. Coupled with the SG's characteristic beveled edge—a big part of this model's distinctive styling—the mahogany's light weight also enhances playing comfort. The guitar's quarter-sawn mahogany neck is carved to a rounded profile that feels superb in the hand. It is glued into the body with Gibson's acclaimed deep set-neck joint, and topped with a baked maple fingerboard with 22 medium-jumbo frets, dressed in vintage cream binding. Acrylic trapezoid fingerboard inlays, a mother-of-pearl headstock logo and holly inlay, and a late-'60s style pickguard round out this eye-catching package. To load it all with certified classic tone, Gibson USA equips the SG Standard Sam Ash Exclusive with a pair of its most popular humbucking pickups. The 490R in the neck position is made with an Alnico II magnet and wound to vintage specs for plenty of warm vocal tones with impressive clarity. The 498T in the bridge position has an Alnico V magnet for more punch, and a few more turns of coil wire for a hotter performance overall, giving you everything from meaty crunch to searing lead tones. Your tone is anchored down by the classic pairing of a Tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece, with a set of vintage-style keystone tuners installed at the other side of the PLEK-cut Corian nut. Add it up, and the SG Standard Sam Ash Exclusive is one cooking slab of mammoth vintage mojo. Each guitar includes a Gibson hardshell case and owner's manual. These are very rare in UK and were originally priced around £1200, I am looking at £775 ovno NOW £725 and potentially could deliver f.o.c. A1/M1 corridor, WM or NE and happy to have collected from Yorkshire Very interested in adding some serious cash to buy a Celinder P Classic 4 or Mike Lull P Bass 4 or trade with Aguilar header Aguilar Cab, or Fender CS P Bass with cash to you
12. Wholeheartedly agree, amazing instruments !
13. Very similar to mine with the traditional vol, vol tone passive controls, I hadn't seen one like mine before, what model is it classed as? Mine is more of a Lake Placid blue metallic, never had the neck off so not sure how old.
14. Will look to sell my SG then ! Watch this space !!!! This bass should have been snapped up long ago
15. I dont suppose you play guitar as week, I have an immaculate Gibson SG Standard tribute in Pelham Blue and some serious cash to add?
16. Do I really need a fretless bump for a stunning bass
17. Nice................Celinder's are, in my opinion, the finest basses
18. That is a stunning Celinder, Good luck, if only I had need of a fretless !
