Just received my Barefaced compact. Waiting for the midget to arrive now. These cabs are supposed to be pretty flat.... almost like a P.A. am I right? So..... I do the DJ'ing in our wedding band straight after the band's set. I use the band's P.A., but a lot of the time it's overkill. I was just thinking.... how would recorded music sound through a midget / compact stack? Obviously, it would be mono, but that wouldn't stop people dancing! And you'd need to mount the midget on a pole..... not a massive issue I wouldn't think. The Barefaced stuff is just so light and powerful, I wish our P.A. was built along similar lines, but it's quite a bit of extra lifting for me at silly o clock in the morning. Has anyone ever used any make of bass cabs as a P.A? I know on the Acme website, they do mention that they're cabs can be used as high quality P.A. speakers, maybe the barefaced stuff is similar.

I suspect I am not alone here in being the main sound guy for our band It's a wedding band, so we bring all our own equipment to every gig, including P.A. and lights. Being the one who mans the desk and tweaks the overall sound, I have developed quite an interest in P.A. systems. Especially since we will probably be upgrading our system at some point in the future. So... whatcha using, and what are your thoughts? Especially interested in wedding / function band set ups! Looking for some real world feedback.

You'll have a bit of a wait though for the cab I'm afraid..... best thing to do is just forget you've ordered it, otherwise you'll be watching the doorbell like a man obsessed.

Thanks all. Was gunna take a punt on an mxr octave pedal, the delux one with the growl feature.... I also have a big muff somewhere, for extra fuzz should I need it. I'll look into the digitech wah though as well see if I can get one for reasonable money.

My band are thinking about playing Fun - We are young as a cover version. It's a huge song here in Ireland (and the UK too I'd say). We only have one keyboard, which will be doing the piano bits, so it'll be up to me to get that HUUUUUGE bass synth sound. Thiing is, I don't have any pedals for doing stuff like that at the moment. I'm thinking an ocatve pedal and a distortion.... or maybe there's a synth pedal that will do it for me. Romain bought a pair of cabs from me. One arrived DOA. He was very understanding and sorted the problem out himself for a reasonable amount of money. I'd have no problem dealing with him again, he's a genuine guy.

Well I have an option to px my puma212 combo for it, so I don't know if it's for sale or if it's just up for trade. It's in Ireland too, so it'd be a bugger to post to Liverpool!
