1.
An 8 Ohm Tecamp 2x12 extension cab would be the way to go. And repeat after me "Tweeters are the work of the devil....."
Yeah I've been keeping an eye out for a nice tecamp extension cab, but although there's been a couple up for sale around here lately, I haven't been able to get my hands on one. I tend to like having hi fi cabs and then dialling the tweeter back, rather than having a non tweeter cab and pushing the high end where it doesn't exist. Saying that, the tecamp people say the 5 inch driver goes to 10K , which is almost beyond human hearing.... so I could well be imagining the lack of high end. The EBS cabs seem more hifi to me. I'd like to try a tecamp cab with a tweeter just for comparison.
 2.
Just buy it. Let's face it, the way you get through back line, it'll be back up for sale in a month anyway
Am I that easy to read??? Still very impressed with the tecamp. Just looking for something with a touch more bottom end and a full range tweeter. Might end up keeping the tecamp as it's just so convenient. I was hoping I could use one of the EBS neo 112 cabs to put underneath it, but they don't match up well, the tecamp is hardly breaking a sweat and there's a load of power going to the 112 so it breaks up too early. Maybe an 8 ohm EBS 115 will work better. Hmmmmm......
 3.
Honestly don't know. You should try them in every configuration possible and decide for yourself. That's where all the fun is!
Very true!
What a load of tosh. PS Sack off the single 12s. Replace with a 2x12 cabinet. Two EBS single 12s do not equal an EBS 2x12 cab. The 2x12 is awesome cab, the single 12s are average at best and will fart out if you try and get any serious volume out of them. The boxes are just not big enough.
Good to know. That's what I suspected. The 112 box is just too small to produce anything trouser flapping.
If i lived in Ireland i would buy that in a heart beat. I was there last weekend just up the road, gutted i didn't know about this. If anyones visiting Ireland anytime soon up north let me know and maybe we could sort something
The rig is actually in the very southern part of Ireland which is 4.5 hours from where I am.... if it was local I'd have bought it by now, but couriers charge an arm and a leg around here so I'm hesitant to pull the trigger too quickly. I was speaking to the guy on the phone and the whole rig seems to have had very little use. I'm going to try out a friends half size 115 proline cab (8 ohm) this weekend with one of the neo 112 cabs perched on top. That should sound good..... I'll report back if anyones interested.
 4.
I see what you're looking for. IMO i think you'll never find that trouser flapping with a small, Neo driver loaded cab. Either you get a cab with more drivers or get something with ferrite magnets. That Proline 410 actually is starting to look like a good bet for what you're after. You can also try to find a couple more neo 112's or a neo 212@4ohms and drive all of them form the Crown! That would be an epic rig!!!
Friend of mine has a proline 115 and a proline 210 both of which I can try out. Do you think one of them would be good with the 112 cabs I have? I'm getting excited here at the thoughts of it....
I had a proline 410 ( a newer one ) before and it was great but I found it too heavy and an awkward carry.... I need to be able to easily carry my cabs on my own. Yes a 212 underneath the 2 x 112 neos all driven by the crown would be awesome indeed! I'm on the lookout for another cab at the moment. I have a tecamp puma 212 combo which is really great but I'd prefer a bigger / taller rig.
The preamp alone is worth more or less that.
Yeah those pres are worth a bit alright, I've put a bid in we'll see how it goes!
 6. Tried an mb 200, but also hooked them up to my power amp (crown xs 900) and still felt the lack of bottom end.... although the cabs sounded quite good on the dance floor (I checked), standing in front of them in a big room they just don't move enough air for me at the low end. I like to "feel" my notes a little. Although I do very much like the way the mids and highs sound.
 7.
You don't want or need that. The Proline series muddy your sound too much, what you really need is a Neoline 212. Lighter and a cleaner soud. Also, a Reidmar will give you the same tone with lots of volume on tap and just a fraction of the weight!
Good reasoning. I have a pair of neo 112 EBS cabs, but I find that they aren't up to the job in bigger rooms. Great little cabs but too small to expect miracles from. Is the neo line 212 a bigger box than the combined 112 Neos? Good point on the Reidmar too. Thanks.
 8.
He didn't use capital letters after a full stop. That's a good reason.
Thanks for that. PHEW you talked me away from the edge there!

 10. Looks like a bargain. Had one of these cabs before and loved it. Don't love the weight and bulk though.... that's why I got rid. I am SO tempted at that price. Cassic EBS gear - gunna sound amazing innit.
 11. Yeah, I'm thinking maybe I should just keep it. I think I'll regret getting rid of this one. I just have it in my head that I need a seperate cab.... which may be true. But I should probably just hold off and save up the coin for it instead of selling this to fund it.
 12.
Exactly the same for me. I spent years trying to find the amp sound I really liked, tinkering with amps and pedals. Eventually I found it in the OTB, and it may be a one trick pony, but it's a trick I like!
You still digging on the TB with the aggies? Glad to hear it! Great comination IMO, plenty of grunt. The Tecamp is still very impressive by the way, great amp (although I might be moving it on being the fickle creature I am!).
 13.
Good luck with your sale Jesso. I suspect this is a lovely bit of kit if mine is anything to go by. I wonder why nobody has come in for my Tecamp amp and cab?
I dunno to be honest. Maybe people are more interested in the 500 version of the amp? 350 tecamp watts are pretty impressive it has to be said. The 212 combo is working at 350 watts (it's 8 ohm) and is very loud. I can only imagine it would be a thing of awesomeness to put your 115 cab underneath the 212 combo!
 14.
Pictures ?
Tomorrow or Monday by the latest!
 15. ++++NOW SOLD!!!!! PHOTOS FURTHER DOWN THE THREAD. Beautifully made, silly light, and loud enough for almost any situation. I'm very impressed with this combo. As far as combos go, this is about as good as it gets in my experience. Nicer than any markbass combo I've had. Excellent condition. This combo has been well looked after. Comes with brand new roqsolid cover. PRICE DROP to £660..... That's GOT to be GREAT value delivered to your door! It cost me a lot more than that. Take advantage of my stupid need to buy more gear - thus I have to sell stuff off cheeeeep !!! Thanks.
 16.
There are plenty of cheap power amps out there but it's how they handle under load for a duration..... Gig at the weekend and the band I depped for had issues with the Peavey IPR running a load of 4ohms for the gig.... couldn't handle it very well
Good to know.
Despite their usual reputation, the Behringer iNuke range are pretty good! You can Bi-amp or bridge them too
Don't know if I'm quite ready to trust in a Behringer digital amp yet.... although the specs are outrageous for the money.
Is the Alto stuff available in Ireland? Then, I'd have a look at the APX1500 (or maybe APX1000). Had it's predecessor, the D-3, in my rack-days Excellent switchmode poweramp, lightweight, and more than enough bottom end
Not that I know of.... never seen it anyways. I've set up a deal on a second hand Crown XS 900. Got a reasonable price on it. It's not too heavy, oodles of power at 600 watts a side at 8 ohm, and it's a Crown so hopefully it should stand the test of time. Thanks all for the suggestions.
 17. Thanks for the suggestions. I have a chance to pick up a crown XS 700 for reasonable money, which is older technology, but still no heavy weight dinosaur compared to the more traditional stuff.
 18.
Peavey IPR would be my choice. Cheap and powerful. http://www.gak.co.uk...amplifier/26089 Liam
Looks good. Peavey stuff is usually bulletproof. Nice and light that one too. Any other suggestions? Or any reason to stay oldschool and buy a tank of an amp that would have been £1000 ++ when first released vs a newer amp like the peavey?
 19. Howdy. Looking for a good power amp that can run 500 watts a side at 8 ohms. It would be running my bass cab (either 2 x EBS neo112 cabs or something else) on one side, and a Dynacord passive Dlite 115 8 ohm sub on the other. Ideally, nothing too heavy. I've been looking at 2nd hand well known brands like Crown and Dynacord, but they are usually old and heavy, although no doubt very capable. So.... I'm thinking technology has come on a long way... I know I'm happy enough with most D class amps that I've used for my bass. The advantages of buying a new under warrenty amp are tempting, and on Thomann there are any number of cheap powerful amps that don't necessarily have as good of a name as the established brands. Does anyone have any experience with stuff like the Inuke or similar? Any thoughts appreciated!
