  5. As Happy Jack has said, its a big subject. My dummer bought an HK line arrary system and we go out as a PA hire (as well as using it for the band). And I have to say its the clearest, fullest sound I've mixed live on. I can't recommend them enough. Plus there are no huge mid/top boxes blocking the view of the band. All very discrete and very portable. Something similar to this, but we have 4 actives and 4 passive subs with 8 top end unit (he went a bit mad, we never need that many! ) https://www.thomann.de/gb/hk_audio_elements_smart_base.htm
  6. It feels like I've taken 10,000 hours practicing Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick and I've definitely not mastered it!

  14. Is it the sleave that is too small? If so, how about wrapping it in PTFE (plumbers tape). Its very light and will take to being wedged in. Plumbers use it to seal threads in taps etc. Its very thin but strong. You'll get it at any diy store. Or a nice blob of super glue on one side and to hokd it. Make sure they are all glued to the same side of the headstock. The flange should cover any gap. I did this on a bitsa bass and worked fine (so far)
  15. Sometimes success is just down to luck, and there's nothing you can do about it. Look after your ears (ok so I've just realised this is the technique part of the forum, and thats not really technique advice, sorry ) Look before you post. 👀

  19. 😂 No expense spared! Though they really could have dressed the stage better to hide the scaffolding. But the beer was the main attraction, not the music.

  25. So just to update this thread in case anyone finds it at all interesting or useful, this is what I ended up taking with me. And it worked very well. It was loud enough to keep up with singalongs, (even after many bottles of wine) and having an aux input meant I could practice along with tracks. The HB power pack still has charge after a weeks use. Plus it comes with loads of different leads so can power a pedal if needed. I also added a small Bluetooth receiver for phones with no headphone o/p. All in all well worth the money. 👍
