Saw them in Manchester last night, great, really enjoyed it! Good mix of old and new tunes, I like the new album, really grown on me, and the new tracks are great live I really like josh' playing, he isn't John for sure, but he fits well and he is bringing his style in, which is cool, for me it is much better than the last time they had another guitarist! I ended up wrecked, late for work and my head is still not where it needs to be lol! Had a problem with someone who looked like he was trying to dip my GF's pockets, he got dealt with swiftly (launched via his neck!) this is a known problem now at the MEN ( and I guess other venues) watch out as you leave, phones, cameras and wallets are going missing Tony

Really cool night, last night at the Zion centre in Hulme, Manchester ! Manchester DJ Dave Haslam chatting with Nile Rodgers about his life, chic, Bowie, madonna and of course, Bernard Edwards! What a great night, I have a lot of respect for this guy, he's a great musician, not just a guitarist, but an arranger and producer Second half he got his strat' out and played! Incredible, he talked about why he plays what he does and demostrated regular chords verses his inversions, really cool, he has that sound that is Nile Rodgers, it's in the hands and last night proved that! A lot of talk about the great Bernard Edwards, he obviously misses a good friend! And he has just recovered from cancer at 59! Tony

Just had a good read of this, all 12 pages! I've owned several 'rays, currently have two (been playing one all morning :-) Great basses, like has been said, when they are right, they are right! Hope this hets sorted, the classic ray seems like a good option if it comes off A few years back I got hold of a 5 string 'ray. White with matching headstock, maple neck, HH with white covers, looked very, white! I found out shortly after, that at the time, this bass shouldn't have existed! It was an order that was put together in the UK! I think EB frowned upon it at the time! Around the same time, a friend of mine in the music trade, told me that EB were a bit pissed with S&T's putting orders together from what they had in stock, i.e. necks, pickgaurds etc. They were insisiting that the correct spec' bass was ordered from them if they didn't have it in stock! Sounds like they are still doing that? Hope you get sorted! Tony
