1. I'm looking for a good quality P and these have caught my eye. Does anyone have one and can give any feedback on how they are to play - sound and fit/finish wise? How versatile is the sound? I'm curious as to whether they can do the standard P bass sound and then 'a bit more', or are just a totally different sound. How's the neck to play? How do they compare to MIM standards or the classic 50s P basses, or any other Ps in a similar price bracket? Thanks!

3. Epiphone Thunderbird Bass neck project for sale. Comes off a MIK bass. As you will see from the photo, this is a disaster. Someone completely painted the neck, including the fretboard, in white paint. I think it's just standard white spray paint you get from any art shop. I bought this to work on, but I've got other things that need my time and money, so this has to go. The paint should come off of the fretboard with heat or a chemical stripper/white spirit type solution, but will probably need dying afterwards. I'm not sure, it really is a mystery as to what level of finish this will return to. It's just the neck, nothing else. I've seen standard condition necks go on Ebay for around £40, so I'm listing this as £20 posted with payment by paypal gift. Can also meet in London for cash on collection.
4. timber is good, not really any dinks or marks. Will try to get some photos sorted out, but that might be a bit difficult as camera has died.
5. Sanded Epiphone Thunderbird Body from a Korean thunderbird. Comes with strap buttons, neck plate and screws, pots and screws for bridge, but no bridge. I intended to use this for a project, possibly a fenderbird, but there's no way I have the time to do this justice so I'm putting it up for sale. sanded down to bare wood and ready to finish how you wish. £40 collected in London or Herts, or posted for £50. Thanks!
6. Don't suppose you had a note of the serial number anywhere? You should report it to the police and keep an eye out on ebay, gumtree and local cash converter type places. Some proof of purchase would be good too, whether you bought it from new or used, in case you need to start throwing some accusations around. Chances are they won't know anything about it and will just try to flog it asap.
7. Zoom B2 for sale. In excellent condition, comes with power supply. £35 posted or can meet for cash on collection in London for nearest offer. Thanks
8. Hi I have some black tuners and black 3 point adjustable bridge from a MIK Epiphone Thunderbird Bass available. Looking for £10 each posted. Can also meet in London. Thanks.
9. Bumping 1 day old messages from a new user recommending a new shop. No, nothing suspicious about that at all. If that is the purpose, no need to mate, we've already commented on the new Wunjo bass shop and how it's actually quite good and has a good range of stock. You just need to lower the prices a bit to at least get close to competing with internet prices. 'Advertising' posts annoy everyone and are essentially counterproductive.
10. I'd like to jump in an revive this thread if possible. Does anyone in the UK do Thunderbird pickups, chrome or otherwise, for £100 or less than? The Mike Lull stuff does look good but is just a bit pricey to be honest. Thanks
11. There's no point really in cheap practice amps. What's the wattage? If there isn't enough headroom (i.e. you have the volume up full) then it's going to sound a little worked. A cheap/lower power practice amp will never, save for a few exceptions, give you amazing tone and sound. The amp is probably more important for quality of sound in many ways than the bass and pups. Don't worry about the sound. If you want to get used to playing amped up, maybe stick some headphones on for a bit and get used to playing through an amp. If you want to try playing really loud through a decent amp, see if any of the rehearsal rooms in your area do cheaper rates for solo practices. This will give you the chance to go high volume with a good amp, but on your own.
12. I went in the other day, and they had a brilliant range of stuff. There are three basses I've been dying to try out for a while (New Dano Hodad, Hofner HCT 185 and Italia Rimini) and they had all of them in there. The prices were a little high, but they said they could do deals on all prices. It was only a flying visit but I'll definitely be going in again.
13. Would you consider a trade for this... http://basschat.co.uk/topic/181223-partscaster-tele/ I know it's advertised at a lower value, but that's only because I'm keen to sell it and no one is buying anything at the moment. It's actual value is actually much higher when you look at the parts - one piece alder body, iron gear bridge pup, fender stock neck pup etc.
