1. Hi I have some black tuners and black 3 point adjustable bridge from a MIK Epiphone Thunderbird Bass available. Looking for £10 each posted. Can also meet in London. Thanks.
2. Bumping 1 day old messages from a new user recommending a new shop. No, nothing suspicious about that at all. If that is the purpose, no need to mate, we've already commented on the new Wunjo bass shop and how it's actually quite good and has a good range of stock. You just need to lower the prices a bit to at least get close to competing with internet prices. 'Advertising' posts annoy everyone and are essentially counterproductive.
3. I'd like to jump in an revive this thread if possible. Does anyone in the UK do Thunderbird pickups, chrome or otherwise, for £100 or less than? The Mike Lull stuff does look good but is just a bit pricey to be honest. Thanks
4. There's no point really in cheap practice amps. What's the wattage? If there isn't enough headroom (i.e. you have the volume up full) then it's going to sound a little worked. A cheap/lower power practice amp will never, save for a few exceptions, give you amazing tone and sound. The amp is probably more important for quality of sound in many ways than the bass and pups. Don't worry about the sound. If you want to get used to playing amped up, maybe stick some headphones on for a bit and get used to playing through an amp. If you want to try playing really loud through a decent amp, see if any of the rehearsal rooms in your area do cheaper rates for solo practices. This will give you the chance to go high volume with a good amp, but on your own.
5. I went in the other day, and they had a brilliant range of stuff. There are three basses I've been dying to try out for a while (New Dano Hodad, Hofner HCT 185 and Italia Rimini) and they had all of them in there. The prices were a little high, but they said they could do deals on all prices. It was only a flying visit but I'll definitely be going in again.
6. Would you consider a trade for this... http://basschat.co.uk/topic/181223-partscaster-tele/ I know it's advertised at a lower value, but that's only because I'm keen to sell it and no one is buying anything at the moment. It's actual value is actually much higher when you look at the parts - one piece alder body, iron gear bridge pup, fender stock neck pup etc.
7. Bump, want this gone to fund something else.
8. And she's gone. Thanks folks!
9. Bump £150 or £100 for the body
10. I'm also open to Trades. I'm looking for an Epiphone Thunderbird, Hofner HCT 185 Artist Bass or Jazz bass. It can either be a whole thing or in bits/a project. Thanks!
11. Hi I'm selling a partscaster tele I've recently put together. Body: Alder tele one piece Neck: Maple and rosewood strat neck. Truss rod adjustable at the heel. Pickups: Bridge- Iron Gear Rolling Mill. Neck - Stock Fender Body has been stripped and stained indian rosewood, as has neck. Finished with Nitro Satin lacquer from Manchester Guitar Tech. I'm not sure where the parts are from. The headstock seems to be an exact copy of a fender, so not sure if this a licenced copy or something else. I've currently got the neck pickup attached like a P-bass pickup - with screws into the body with a foam pad underneath. If you want it set up as standard, attached to the pickguard, I can change it over. The body has a swimming pool rout, so you can change pickups over to something bigger in the neck. I haven't strung it as I'm going to let the buyer pick what strings they want, and I'll put them on. One negative point - I didn't do the through body drilling, and the guy before me hasn't done the best job. As you'll see, two of the ferrules are very close together. I've checked and had it strung, and it absolutely doesn't affect playability or string life, so it's just cosmetic. I've had a look at other partscaster teles, and they seem to be listed at around £200, so I'm going to list this for £160 inc postage or collection from London/Herts. Price drop to £100!!
12. Now on Ebay with buy it now or best offer on it. All offers considered. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280916613830 Thanks!
13. Ok, do want this to go, so £180 for the bass or £130 for the loaded body. Thanks
14. Bump back to first page...
15. Bump. I may be open to parting this out too. If anyone wants the loaded body, so everything minus the neck, they can have it for £150 ono inc postage. If I can't sell the whole thing I might use the neck elsewhere, but don't need another P so the body can go. Thanks
16. Final price drop to £200.
17. Price drop bump to £220.
18. Also to add, I will post.
19.
Claytonbashing mystifies me. One of the lines you see frequently trotted out by old punks is that the great thing was that you didn't have to be able to play to be in a band. Therefore Clayton, I put it to you, is the living embodiment of punk. 30 years later he is still in the band and still not able to play. Punk not dead as long as Clayton lives. Stick your spirit of 77 up your arse, you all sold out where he is still proudly flying the flag. Not only that, but he gets paid too. Regularly. Not only that, but he gets supermodels. Regularly. Not only that, but his regular gig is not the Badger And Brake Lever playing Boney M covers, but football stadiums and he doesn't even play football!!! Mock him not, for he is a quite clearly a genius.
He could be considered a genius in the sense that he's the laziest multi-millionaire I can think of.
20. It's a walnut stain, diluted slightly and then once dried a satin nitro finish. I was going for a Gibson SG Studio/Harrison Rosewood tele look. I'm currently doing a tele in the same colours as this, which I'll have up for sale in a week or so too.
