2. Hi You say new frets, has it had a re-fret then? Could you say what size the frets are - medium jumbo, vintage etc (i'm guessing vintage being a re-issue)? Any idea of the neck radius?
3. Thanks, noted. Does anyone store their basses in the attic?
4. Hi Space is at a bit of a premium at my house, and I'm looking to store some of my less precious basses in the attic. They'd be in hard cases, and near the entrance to the loft. Loft is partly insulated not the roof section, just the bottom. Is this an absolute no no, or given how mild our climate is getting, ok? I know I'd have to slacken strings while in storage, store flat, and let them settle once back in the house. Thanks

7. That bass collection bass is not even close to a tribute! The original bass was a slab body and alder. There one is contoured and basswood. So one of the major components is completely wrong. That is so very lazy. It was also only salmon pink right at the end. He had it refinished fairly close to 'retiring it', when he moved on to the fenderbirds. It was sunburst for all of the important work it did like Live at Leeds and Tommy. The best look at it I've found is on the rock & roll circus performance - https://www.youtube....h?v=R0JHM0Q8JKQ He also described the pickups he used, from the 66 slab basses, as being a bit hotter and distorting more when pushed. You'd therefore want a hot vintage voiced pickup. Bareknuckle do a 58' P pickup that's fairly good, and the kent armstrong hot vintage would probably get you close too. I've managed to sort of get the sound with an SD QPB. Also rotosounds. Nothing but rotosounds. And Cosmo, that is a superb tone.
8. Hi I've previously used B2s and G2s, and I'm looking to upgrade. I've had a look at the B1on, B3 and MS60, and would be grateful for any advice on which one I should go for. What I want from the pedal is: 1. To be able to switch a patch/effect on (starting from normal signal/sound) and off mid song, like a standard stomp box; 2. To be able to switch from Patch A to Patch B (so for a solo) then back to Patch A, during a song. I've had a look, and they all seem to contain the effects I want, which are 7 band EQ, amp modelling, noisegate, drive/fuzz, octave and synths, along with a couple of extra toys. I don't really care about loopers, drum machines or recording abilities/syncing. I'm not sure about the look and plasticness of the B1on, and like the look of the B3 and MS60, but obviously the MS60 is a fair bit cheaper, which is nice, but seems to have less on the floor control abilities. What would people recommend?
9. I've got a Vox Pathfinder 10w Bass practice combo for sale. 2 x 5" speakers, drive, bright button, bass, treble and master volume controls. input and headphones jacks. In good condition, not using anymore so happy to meet for collection in London during the week or Hemel Hempstead any other time. Willing to post for cost. Thanks
10.
Beat me to it. Sandberg did a 2 stringed one that was always at shows.
And here it is! Neck looks terrifying, like you could snap it at any moment. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P3iCeBAmmbo
11. Nice and easy transaction, bought some tuners from him on Wednesday, and in my hands by Sat morning, well packed and in good condition.
12. In all fairness, £1000 is pretty good value when you think of the scrap metal value of all those strings.
13. They should really check the liver function of that bass, it's got some clear warning signs...
14. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Unique-50s-Style-Precision-Bass-Right-Handed/262036149196?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D33661%26meid%3D20cc412dc37f478e93008dd12e9155d6%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D291565352585 To be fair, not many other people are offering a service where they'll take your £80 harley benton bass, roughly spray the body custard yellow whilst letting some of the original sunburst to show through, and charge you an extra £70 for it. WHAT A BARGAIN.

16. Hi Does anyone know of anywhere I can get a sub £300 jazz bass in fiesta red? I don't really want to spend a grand for a Fender road worn, so the cheaper the better. I know that the Squier CV jazz bass in Japan is fiesta red (rather than Oly white) so that's an option, but if there's anything available in the UK/europe that would be better. Not really fussed on brands, would prefer rosewood board but not put off by maple either.
17.
It felt like an impossible task for me too, but then a hero came a long on his noble steed
In the rare event that you ever feel like selling, consider me front of the queue. If there isn't already a queue. I read that Yellowcar got this originally from wunjo's bass shop in a find of the century, so now have an excuse to visit them a lot more! Enjoy the bass, looks brilliant.
18. Great, after much searching and finding out about these, these attitude pluses seem to be the rarest bass in the world. Just while I'm on the lookout for a P-bass and was more or less settled on a BB424x. Noooo!
19. Oh good lord that is lovely. So much want for that.
20. From the pictures, I can only assume his belt buckle is a nail gun.
21.
Any opinions on the Sandberg p bass....and what's the likely used price on one of them..
I was interested in an Electra VS4 and managed to try one last week. I really wanted to like it, but just couldn't gel with it. It's absolutely not a P bass (tried comparing it to a MIM and the Squier CV). The neck feels very narrow at the nut and has a lot of taper to it from the heel to nut. It's a shallow neck too, so actually ends up feeling smaller than a jazz neck. Rosewood was also fairly dry, but that's more of a general care/maintenance issue. Although you do have the passive circuit, it doesn't really do a classic P bass sound and I found the passive sound a bit limited. The active is good, but I felt that the output of the D and G strings was a tad lower compared to the lower strings. The craftsmanship is lovely and it's a very well put together bass, and I can see why it's so popular, but if you want a P-bass, look elsewhere.
