  1. Small cab, lightweight, but as discussed on many posts, produces a surprisingly big sound for a 10" 200W speaker (8 ohms) Some tolex peel/shrinkage, mostly visible on the back, but otherwise sound This version has the fabric front, so marginally lighter (6.7kg) than the one with the metal grille Roqsolid cover is as new Pickup preferred but I can courier this at cost if necessary

  2. Anyone need a PA amp? Usual excellent Crown quality, this amp has only had light use and comes in a Chord carry bag. Not sure what the total weight is, but the amp on its own is under 4kg, so very portable XLR inputs, Speakon outputs for most users, plus various other options as per photos As well as standard Stereo, the amp can be configured as follows: Crossover Mode (CH1=LPF, CH2=HPF) – this mode enables a LowPass Filter on Channel 1 and a HighPass Filter on Channel 2 at the frequency chosen. LowPass Mode (CH1=LPF, CH2=LPF) – this mode enables a LowPass Filter on both Channel 1 and Channel 1 at the frequency chosen. HighPass Mode (CH1=HPF, CH2=HPF) – this mode enables a HighPass Filter on both Channel 1 and Channel 2 at the frequency chosen. You can also put it into 'Bridge' mode for seriously high levels of output (according to the spec 1.5kW into 4ohm) Pickup from Uxbridge area, or I'll courier to you at cost.

  3. If you do decide to go toroidal, this looks about right. Since it has dual primary - ie the mains side, you do need to get that right and wire for 230v (ie both primary windings in series) https://uk.farnell.com/block/rkd-120-2x30/xfmr-toroidal-120va-chassis/dp/4209599
  4. Valid! My Baritone was longer scale
  5. My limited experience of using a baritone is that chords mostly sound like mud. Bass or lead lines with a plectrum seemed to work well
  6. The didgeridoo duel should be mandatory in Spinal Tap 2 🙀
  7. An inability to ditch unwanted cables has now got to ridiculous proportions, so a load for sale. 8. And those controls are: Volume, tone and What exactly?
  9. I’ve used K&M stands for years, well worth the money and you can almost always get spare parts for them.
  10. Soundcraft Signature 10 mixer for sale, excellent condition, all features and signal paths working Until recently my recording interface with my PC - via the USB connection which gives 2-Track capability. Loads of useful features: Six mic inputs with switched phantom power High pass filters Limiters on Channels 1 & 2 HiZ inputs for instruments on Channels 3 & 4 Three band equalisation with swept mid band Channels 5/6 and 7/8 can be used as stereo inputs or returns Channels 9/10 act as return from the PC when using it as a recorder Built-in Lexicon effects Two Aux sends, switchable pre/post fader as well as the FX send buss etc. etc. All in all a high level of functionality with a very user-friendly interface Pickup from Uxbridge area, or I will post at cost.
  11. This amp doesn’t have Speakon outputs so be careful with the amp-to-speaker cables. Like Dad3353 says, if you’re going to do any damage it’s likely to be this end of the system.
  12. I used to build equipment for BBC Outside Broadcast vans and a standard piece of kit to have onboard was an earth spike (just a piece of nice solid copper or steel with a tag to attach an earth cable). You used it if you were (typically) powered from a generator or mains source a long way away and you just knocked it into the ground local to the van and connected it to the mains earth terminal of your electrical distribution - which could just be a simple set of sockets. Easy to do when you had an earth terminal specially provided for this purpose, but not impossible with a standard 13A board. It does need to be a solid piece of mains cable however; 2.5mm minimum, 4mm better. As noted by many others, wireless connections give an element of safety as do RCD's on the power outlets. The problem with a wireless connection is that you might want to adjust a control on your amp/combo and only then would you discover if you and the equipment were both connected to the same earth.
  13. You just use left and right outputs as separate feeds - one for the PA (left), one for monitors (right). The Pan control on each channel acts to control how much of each signal goes to left and right - so a channel panned centre goes to both PA and Monitors, panned full left PA only, panned full right Monitors only...
  14. When you say “monitor mix” do you want to create a separate mix for monitoring, different from the main mix? If so you can do that as long as you don’t mind your main mix being in mono.
  15. Thinking that I may as well be hung for a sheep (ie a seriously expensive bass) as for a lamb (Rich's excellent EBS Session 60), I have just blown the year's budget on this very beautiful Duesenberg Motown Bass Almost too beautiful to play, but not quite...
  16. Just bought a Dusenberg bass off Mark. Lovely bloke to deal with, always prompt with communication and highly recommended. The Dusenberg is top quality and Mark took a lot of trouble to make sure that it arrived unscathed via Parcelforce.
  17. Purchased a year ago to join my other 'headless' basses, but not getting played enough, so moving it on. A bass with an 80's vintage feel to it, lightweight (about 3kg), small (obviously) but despite being 24 fret, having a large enough contoured basswood body to sit comfortably whilst being played. A very solid sound through two humbuckers and the usual Ibanez blend control. Other controls are volume and tone. 34" scale, rosewood fretboard, maple neck. Currently fitted with roundwound strings, but you can alter the strings to whatever type you want since the top of the neck secures them with allen screws, so no need for double ball-end types. It's had plenty of playing in its life and the body has quite a few dings and scratches and one chip in the paintwork - please see the photos . Comes with a strap and a good quality Rockbag soft case. Pickup from Uxbridge area, or I will courier at cost.
  18. "turn up on time, smile at everyone, and play the right notes" - Excellent advice for any musician, but especially a bass player. For those of us who are less musically gifted, achieving 1 & 2 whilst playing a few bum notes (although preferably in the same key as the rest of the band) seems to be sufficient.
  19. As circumstantial evidence, please see exhibit A m'lud:
  20. My neat, little, but chunky, BH250 for sale, excellent cosmetic condition, all working perfectly. A solid state amp that has mostly lived indoors and been well looked after. The built-in tuner is useful and the TonePrint feature enables you to download and check out a whole host of effects. Comes with a mains lead. Postage at cost if you want me to mail it to you.
  21. A Very Happy Easter to all too. We finished with Phil Wickham's 'Living Hope' - a bit of an earworm of a chorus to send everyone out
  22. It is Lemmy's own bass (allegedly, but why not?) the outline is slightly obscured by the strap hanging over it. I'm not a Rick afficionado, but I guess it was customised to what he wanted (three humbuckers, gold fittings), as opposed to the signature model which is, as you rightly point out, more decorative, but a distinctly different instrument. As I was trying to find out where the bass came from I discovered that if you want a 'knock-off' Lemmy bass from Ali Express it will set you back a grand total of £413. Fine if you only want to hang it on the wall I suppose.
  23. Maybe a little known fact, but the Marshall factory (Milton Keynes, Bucks) has a small 'museum' of amps, guitars etc in and around reception. Although it is primarily for the guitar nerds, in amongst the Les Pauls and Bluesman amps are a few pieces of Bass memorabilia, with pride of place going to the irredeemably individual Lemmy.
  24. I've been trying to avoid watching the news recently, but I think I may have seen your talking donkey?
  25. If it did, I missed it; possibly my error. just got a message saying I should have ‘opted out’ when I listed - which is no longer possible.
