  1. The lack of effort that's gone into this ad is mind blowing
  2. I've recently discovered Boards Of Canada. Surprising it's taken so long to find them, as the duo are relatively local to where I was brought up, and are about the same age. I love their themes of trippy nostalgia.
  3. Yes bud, they are. I just happened upon them last night as I was searching for some other bits. Kinda forgot I had them..
  4. Had a very similar looking HW C64 years ago. That was such a great bass and sounded spot of with Rotosound flats. My current 4003 is on string set number 6 after a few years of searching for that "tone". I found it again with that same set of Rotosound flats. Enjoy, I'm sure you'll have lots of fun with your rather handsome new purchase !
  5. Did you decide to keep it? I've been eying this up but don't think I could part with my Precision at the moment !
  6. Exactly this. They're cut 2 x 2, and I'll be swapping them out tomorrow. Happy to compare the lengths on my Jazz or P once off. I am fairly generous with the amount of string I leave on.
  7. Mistaken, rather than misleading perhaps? We also don't know how old his hardware is
  8. I changed out the CV pups and controls in an old Squier Jazz that I owned, but really didn't need to. It sounded perfectly lovely from factory. I'm now lead to believe that the CV's use Tonerider pickups, of which I use in my American Jazz. They're absolutely beautiful sounding. I like them so much that im fitting a set to my own Bitsa Precision
  9. EMG GZR pickups and solderless controls for sale. I'm after a change in sound with my Precision, so I'm moving this set along. I've had them fitted for over two years now, and they work 100%. No swaps please, as I've sorted my new setup out already. Price includes postage to anywhere within UK mainland. Cheers
  10. Right, Yet another set of strings that I just hate on my Rickenbacker. They've had maybe 5 hours of playing, but they're not for me at all. £40 all in, including delivery to UK mainland. Screenshot of my original order as attached. I'm going back to Rotosounds..
  11. Just wait until that first gig buzz kicks in. You'll not believe you're doing it. Good luck man, you'll crush it !
  12. For a rough pub gig / tight space, I'd probably use either a Precision or one of three Jazz basses that I have. I'd likely leave the Ric at home though. Had a 60's Hofner 500/1 for a while, but always felt like it was too fragile to gig. That one's long gone.
  13. It's different isn't it. I'd never seen a Honeyburst Jazz before, so commissioned it from Northwest Guitars a few months ago. They've still a few in stock if you're after one yourself :-)
  14. So here starts my first attempt of putting something together. I already have most if it, and just received my NW Honeyburst body yesterday. I think it mates well colour wise with the Fender 70's Pau Ferro neck. It'll be getting a cream pickguard and a broken in set of Fender flats, but I'm undecided on pickups yet. I'll need to do research to see what will mate well with my solderless orange cap controls. It'll be a project to complete when the darker nights approach. I'm so looking forward to drilling the holes for the pickguard etc !
  15. I'd agree there. It's the same shade as my Olympic Jazz.
  16. Welcome from deepest Sutherland, the most secluded, peaceful and beautiful part of the Scottish Highlands. No big dramas here, just like this site.
  17. My American Fender Jazz body has the same pickup hole sizes.
  18. So, I commissioned a Honeyburst Jazz bass body a good few months back, and it's just arrived in stock at Northwest. Kevin did a run of four in total, and there are three left after I procured one. Just a heads up in case someone is looking to build a jazz in a non standard colour 🙂 G
  19. That seemed to happen very often. Folks ended up tagging him on that FB group to get his attention. Very strange. I'm no longer on FB so I don't know if it's improved or not
  20. I commissioned a nice HW C64 4001 many years ago with a nice slim neck. That was a great bass. You'll not regret removing that pickup cover for sure, makes it a much easier bass to play.
  21. Untreated brass pickguard just fitted. Made by TinyTone. Looks good I think
  22. I've a brand new set of GB528's for sale if you're interested. I think they're the only set for sale in the UK at present.
  23. I'm pretty stoked how this 2023 model is getting a nice yellowing on the binding. I might get a faded custom pickguard made to match, but I'm happy with the look atm.
