Yes, he stated it was like a banana and couldn't be adjusted. I've lowered the action and it's really quite a lovely neck really. "Warehouse find", I'm assuming, is stock the seller didn't know he had. Its a music company that I bought it from. That's Jam, my Ginger Tom. He's constantly getting in the way when it comes to photos. He's also a nightmare when I change strings as he loves to chase them.

Definitely a deal there for sure. That's the solderless controls in, flats on, and the action brought down a good bit. The pickups are sitting a little too low, but it sounds good? Think I'll leave it as is..

Oh, it's got to be a black guard on a Sunburst Jazz. Just like my Olympic Jazz must keep its tort guard !

So, Bought this on a well known selling platform a few days ago. It was a warehouse find, and was reasonably priced. Received a call from the seller after order placement to tell me the neck was unserviceable. Just happens that I've a spare Fender 70s neck here, so I gave an offer for everything, thinking I'd fit my own neck. Well, it's arrived in 1/2 hour ago with the original neck. It's fine. Like, it plays lovely. The electrics are pretty crackily, but I'll fit solderless controls / pots that I have lying around. So I really don't know what the craic is with the supposed knackered neck, but I've scored this for a very, very good price. Feeling lucky today, as I've always been after a Fender with block inlays. Cheers

Honeyburst Jazz Bass Bodies Available - Northwest Guitars

It's probably why I've stalled the project, at least until winter -
Flike Kevin, Never too late to start. I only did so 7 years ago at age 44. I'm still shite. Been getting gigs in the past though, so if I can do it, anyone can. Wonder how long it'll be be before bass no2 shows up for you..
-
I fall in and out of loving it to be honest, as I'm more of a Jazz bass kinda guy. I must say that I'm really liking it just now though. I often wonder if I should sell it, but it seems pointless to get rid for another Jazz when I've several Jazzes already.

Some lovely patina starting on this recently fitted, untreated brass pickguard from Tinytone. EMG's are now gone. Solderless controls and Tonerider Classic pickups have been fitted along with some LaBella flats. Holy Motown. One of my favourite instruments to play now..

What are you listening to right now?

I've recently discovered Boards Of Canada. Surprising it's taken so long to find them, as the duo are relatively local to where I was brought up, and are about the same age. I love their themes of trippy nostalgia. -
Had a very similar looking HW C64 years ago. That was such a great bass and sounded spot of with Rotosound flats. My current 4003 is on string set number 6 after a few years of searching for that "tone". I found it again with that same set of Rotosound flats. Enjoy, I'm sure you'll have lots of fun with your rather handsome new purchase !

Mistaken, rather than misleading perhaps? We also don't know how old his hardware is

I changed out the CV pups and controls in an old Squier Jazz that I owned, but really didn't need to. It sounded perfectly lovely from factory. I'm now lead to believe that the CV's use Tonerider pickups, of which I use in my American Jazz. They're absolutely beautiful sounding. I like them so much that im fitting a set to my own Bitsa Precision

EMG GZR pickups and solderless controls for sale. I'm after a change in sound with my Precision, so I'm moving this set along. I've had them fitted for over two years now, and they work 100%. No swaps please, as I've sorted my new setup out already. Price includes postage to anywhere within UK mainland. Cheers

Just wait until that first gig buzz kicks in. You'll not believe you're doing it. Good luck man, you'll crush it !

For a rough pub gig / tight space, I'd probably use either a Precision or one of three Jazz basses that I have. I'd likely leave the Ric at home though. Had a 60's Hofner 500/1 for a while, but always felt like it was too fragile to gig. That one's long gone.

It's different isn't it. I'd never seen a Honeyburst Jazz before, so commissioned it from Northwest Guitars a few months ago. They've still a few in stock if you're after one yourself :-)

So here starts my first attempt of putting something together. I already have most if it, and just received my NW Honeyburst body yesterday. I think it mates well colour wise with the Fender 70's Pau Ferro neck. It'll be getting a cream pickguard and a broken in set of Fender flats, but I'm undecided on pickups yet. I'll need to do research to see what will mate well with my solderless orange cap controls. It'll be a project to complete when the darker nights approach. I'm so looking forward to drilling the holes for the pickguard etc !
