  1. Finland - Cult Of Luna
  2. A Forest - The Cure
  3. I keep the EQ pretty flat. Tone 2/3rds up and plenty of gain. I find my P basses sound like crap with old strings. Try some fresh strings. I love the sound of DR Black Beauties on mine
  4. Owlwood - Cult Of Luna
  5. The Industrialist - Fear Factory
  6. I've had a couple Darkglass Tone Capsules. I'd fir them in any active bass. The feature I really like is instead of bass, mid & treble controls they have bass, low mid and high mid which just seemed so much more useful. They're solder free fitting as well.
  7. Down in a hole - AIC
  8. My current band doesn't feel like any sort of work, it's just all fun
  9. My band mates are skint so could use the cash but I'd prefer to play for free so it's not work. I guess there's a simple answer to that
  10. We just recorded our EP. Having a good recording engineer makes a huge difference and a producer who understands the style of music you play.
  11. I would choose a more competent bassist and a bigger amp for the guitarist, his 50w 1x12 struggles to keep up with my 500w 4x10
  12. Super massive black hole - Muse
  13. Not until we get in a studio again. Maybe next year.
  14. The final song we recorded for our EP. There's some killer drumming in this one and my bass sounds absolutely disgusting. Definitely my favourite.
  15. Everything good is at least a bit Sabbath
  16. Eyes of the south - Down
  17. Long road North - Cult of Luna
  18. Black hole sun - Soundgarden
  19. A mate works in a music venue and had to work with The Proclaimers. They didn't have a punch up but they did arrive separately, had to have separate dressing rooms and didn't speak to each other at all. I've seen musicians fight with audience members before. Tim Armstrong from Rancid used to do it regularly. When I saw them, he gave some wasted bloke a bloody nose .
  20. That's some good stuff. Nice to hear the bass good and clear in the mix. Nicely played as well. I'm definitely hearing a bit of Eagles of Death Metal in some of your songs, especially Water Lane.
  21. Thanks man, I appreciate that. We do enjoy a good riff and if I'm completely honest, I think we owe Tony Iommi a few beers! I'll have a listen to yours.
  22. Going blind - Melvins
  23. I just use a dining chair if I sit while practicing. The bassist in Beak> uses something to gig, he's seriously underrated
  24. Anyone who buys this crap deserves to be conned
  25. I personally find 120 far too light for a low B. I'm currently using a 140 for A#. 110 is my gauge of choice for D but I probably wouldn't notice the difference with a 115
