I played the same red Jazz V in PMT the other day - it was gorgeous!!   Really tempted by one.

Did some digging when I got home and different websites seem to list the scale lengths differently - some 34 and some 35.  @BillyBass are you able to confirm which it is?  Thanks!

I used to have this exact setup 20 years ago.  If I had the space I'd love to have another one!

Great example of a Limelight jazz.  Only for sale as I'm really only playing 5 string now and want to raise the funds for a 5 string Fretless.  Would consider a trade/PX for a nice lined 34 inch scale fretless.

Recently restrung with a set of regular slinky's and played very little since. Also I have replaced the saddle height adjustment screws. The originals had siezed (a fault with the relicing process which Limelight have now changed).  The new ones are hex rather than slotted, so not period but much easier to use - but can give you the size details if you want to change them back!

I asked Mark about this history of the bass a while ago and he said the following:

Limelight 00137 is quite an early one - the 37th one made in fact, and finished in october 2014. Ordered as a 1960 Stack Knob Jazz in Orange over white with a Jazz width maple neck (Not actually an option in 1960 but it was common for necks to be switched).

This build was ordered with the earth strip from bridge to bridge PU, but without mute holes, and no hootenanny button either. Also requested for the thumb rest to be in the upper position above the E string (Fender moved it to this position in 1974, before then it was below the G). Also had the later (1968 onwards) barrel saddles bridge instead of the threaded bridge.

That's pretty much exactly how I use fretless - mainly just play it at home to improve my ear and technique.   Don't have much in the way of gigging opportunities for one, but good to have it in the collection and be ready for when the gig calls for it 👍.

Only one way to get good at fretless - that's play fretless!  Honestly though it's not as scary as many make out, especially when you have lines as a guide.   You also won't find a better fretless for the money - these Sires are excellent.

Very lightly used -only home use other than one gig with a Pink Floyd tribute to play Hey You.   Can't find a mark on it - and comes with original box, pick up cover and tools (not pictured as safely away in the loft at the moment).

Only for sale as I pretty much only play 5 string now - so for sale to fund a 5 string fretless!

That's lovely!! I was looking for this exactly bass a few months back - ended up finding a red one but loving the top on that one!  These are great basses and that's bargain!  GLWTS!

Fantastic UK built compact 410 cab.  Rated at 1200w and 4ohm, it's an ideal one cab solution.   Celestion Neo Speakers, with adjustable tweeter and PX2 3k5 eminence crossover.  It's a really great sounding cab and you literally couldn't buy the parts to build this cab for the asking price!

Comes in at about 23kg according to my bathroom scales, not featherweight but I can lift and carry with 1 hand.  It's 60cm (w) x 66cm (h) x 43cm (d), so very compact for a 410!

Has been gigged and has some road rash - the worst of which is pictured - but overall looks great and is really solid.  I've just replaced all 4 rubber feet as one was missing when I got it and replaced all 4 with slightly larger ones.  It's also just has a new Logo fitted which I got direct from Mike at Zoot who used to build these.

I've gigged it for the last few months, but going more and more IEM and also have 3 different size Ashdown cabs I can use when I need them, so moving this on to make some space and raise funds for a decent wireless system.

Would consider trading for a decent wireless set up, or possibly a 5 String Fretless.

Pickup from Essex or may meet at a reasonable distance.

Good luck!   I took the saddles completely off the bridge and used a bit of WD40 and pliers to remove mine.

In the end they were 6/32 UNC threads, but mine is a different design so won't necessarily be the same.

Been on the look out for a 1980 bass as I quite fancy a "birth year" bass.  This looks great!  Where abouts in the country are you??

It is important that the fan is not too loud.

Tbh I'm not sure I ever played it quietly enough to notice!!  I don't remember noticing it at any point, but couldn't say for sure I'm afraid.
