Ah ok. I’ll vote battery as well then - as anyone who’s owned a ‘Ray will attest not all batteries are *exactly* the same size, I had bad contacts on mine (it’s a Ray thing sometimes it seems!) - maybe similar here? Intermittent faults suck.

Possibly a daft suggestion but: if the pole pieces are exposed it’s not the string contacting the magnet is it? After years of Bart humbuckers my first exposed pole pieces bucker caused that. Well, my cr@p technique caused it, really…

Is this still here? As the original owner I can attest to this being ace!! Have a bump!

Have a read of https://forum.morningstar.io/t/uses-ideas-value-scroll-counters/1596/2 there’s a post from me in there with exactly how to do that!

The interference is usual when USB’d to a pc with peripherals hanging off it. If you’re on a laptop, unplugging any monitor connections normally makes it go away. I connect my MC and C4 concurrently with their own usb cables direct to the laptop - usb hubs can cause issues with comms.
Suggest heading to the Morningstar forums if you haven’t already!

An afternoon bash with the new covers band cancelled - singer in hospital! A speedy recovery is hoped for, we were just starting to get into gear!! 😒

No-one better to deal with folks…. I’m sure this will be minty and lovely! GLTWS!

Oh my life what a bargain. That’s a total no brainer folks.

I love the SA stuff, have three pedals including the C4. Hub defo worthwhile long term but I begrudged the extra spend when I only had the C4!
The nice thing about C4 and hub is you can choose to use hub for scene storage and send PC to recall presets or you can send CC to recall directly from the C4 (which is what I do)

or if you’re ONLY going to connect a C4 from the source audio range, a DMC MIDI ghost box would do… there was one for sale on here a while back.
caveat with the dmc - if you add other SA pedals later you WILL need a Hub

Scaled down from the Schmidt Array, so here is the new setup on a Rockboard Tres 3.0 with a Mod 1
Signal chain is:
Bass>Mod 1 Input A>Cali 76>Morningstar ML5>Origin '64 BassRig>XLR and 1/4" outs both go to the Mod 1 for feed to the desk with Cab Sim, and straight to an amp if used.
ML5 Loops:
A>Octamizer
B>TRS splitter cable to B on Mod 1
C>HX Stomp with Bright Onion Momentary switch. FX Loop of Stomp to C on Mod 1
D>Prometheus
E>TRS splitter to D on Mod 1
Using the TRS jacks on the Mod 1 with ML5/Stomp FX Loops means I can insert any pedal(s) either in front of, after, or into the Stomp's chain itself (and move it about as needed). I haven't got the required TRS splitters yet (apart from the one within the Stomp's loop) so one of the Mod 1 outputs is connected to the Headphone out of the Stomp for now, but that's how it will be used in future.
Here's the underside:
There's a Temple USB adpator so I can charge my iPad, and a GigRig Doubler to power the Cali76 at 18V. Everything powered by the Generator.
Very, very nice indeed. That’s some A game boarding. GREAT choices of pedals and MIDI fun here.

Coz it’s some good looking bits is why! Can’t help the feeling that a butterscotch Tele needs to feature in my future. When my wrists won’t handle a 5er any more….

I’m an always on, fairly heavyish comp user. HPF into a Keeley Bassist for me: only 4:1 but triggering on most notes most of the time, really helps the bass sit just right in the mix.

I’ve just started gigging again with a new covers band… me and the drummer are fine, singer and guitarist (his band) need some work. Like, not having to look at the fretboard all the time sort of work. First gig was last Saturday, and yeah it was the same old covers to a local pub audience but I loved it.
Main band has petered out due to health, grandkids and being too comfortable on the sofa. But I’m loving the new band despite any issues. It’s made me play again, and learn the PROPER bass line for stuff. I’m loaded in and set up in 30 mins coz I’m just playing, not PAing or singing and the gear’s so light and small these days I don’t even need the seats down in the Golf!
I get why the appeal fades, but it’s very much back for me… another 7 gigs booked this year so far, all new pubs to me. I’m the bass player in a pub rock covers band - perfect!!

This is my favourite thing on the internet at the moment. I’m so happy seeing lots of virtual bass friends back out playing music!

I can finally join in!! Yay! First gig with a new covers band in a local pub. Went well: learnt 49 songs (I mean, they’re all songs all of us know, nothing taxing!) and it went great! Some stuff with proper “you gotta play the original line coz that’s the meat of the song” like Crazy Little Thing and Pump It Up, and a good sprinkling of stuff where I could just play around. Because I’m not singing and PA’ing I just rocked up, set up in 10 mins and was ready… lovely!
It’s the guitarist’s band and he (by his own admission) needs to tighten some stuff up. Singer’s good, drummer is ****ing excellent - next rehearsal I’ll add some harmonies and bring a proper mixer and some decent mics and… I’ll be doing all the work again. Can’t help myself!
Pub was rammed, dancing and singing and repeat booking…. 20 min drive and £60 in my pocket. Loved it!!!

Bargain. Wish this was up a few weeks back when I bought a new one! Great pieces of kit. Ability to flick between normal and dropped tunings is a must for me.

Oh wait!! No this wasn’t mine. Mine was the other one @28misterteeis selling, the 1205. My bad. Whatever, they’re brilliant basses!

Sounds like a great project… obvs, pics when done please!! Dimensions are ridiculously good value for money. I’m picking up my second one on Sunday 🤩

Just to add - depending on where you source your guard from, might already be done… I bought one from WD and it’s great. Foil covered on rear, superb quality, perfect fit, faster than advertised delivery. Assuming four string Squier then https://www.wdmusic.co.uk/pickguards-c62/fender-basses-c111/squier-by-fender-deluxe-dimension-bass-iv-c397
I rang them with questions and they were super helpful too. And good choice with the Dimension - they’re killer basses!

Ian bought a speakon cable from me… excellent repeat customer, all good! Thanks, Colin

Ah man. Bad timing, but always the way with these things. I ripped my pedalboard apart during a break when it happened to me. Still happened!
