I think it's mahogany, painted black to look like ebony. Mid-70s Epiphone acoustic.

That's where I got it from. The >90% really means <100% Other components not being listed means they are both not considered hazardous and in very small quantities, in this case I believe it's limonene, probably in well <1% quantities. If the SDS was more up to date it would probably be listed. I don't like linseed oil myself as it's effectively a varnish. Raw and traditionally produced 'boiled linseed oil' should be safe, but that produced by industrial processes isn't boiled but has plasticisers and other potential nasties in it. Check out the Bartoline (made using a metal catalyst) MSDS and compare it to the Rustins one.

My basses are all for playing not decoration 🙂 But I respect other people's instruments. Plus most playing at a BB is done sitting down, so much less potential for buckle rash etc.

That contains Polydimethylsiloxane i.e. it's a silicone polish. The last type of polish you want on any quality wood or painted item as it effectively prevents any other surface treatment/ refinishing/touching up. Even stripping to bare wood may leave contamination leading to poor refinishing. Anyone who is into caring for their car avoids silicones like the plague. You could do worse than use ordinary Mr Sheen... most furniture polish these days are silicone free, although back in the 90s silicone was the rule not the exception.

As snake oil is basically light mineral oil with a scent added, yes you probably can say D65 is snake oil. But note the intended use - no nourishing, hydration or protection. Its intended use is to clean (it does help remove greasy deposits/dead skin) and return luster (which is kind of like lustre, I imagine). I use sewing machine oil or D65 (because I like the smell and the bottle dispenses much smaller amounts than my sewing machine oil bottle). But I don't saturate, I just do it because it looks and feels nicer than dry wood.

I think there's an unwritten rule - make sure your t-shirt is hanging out over buckles/metal jeans buttons.

Some might say 'honestly rated'... no transient power, music power or instantaneous power nonsense that's used to double or more the power of (say) class D amps. Plus they put out their rated power with minimal distortion unlike many cheaper amps. I can say Trace Elliot kilos are heavier, though.

Cycling and DIY both set off my arthritis. gel gloves and handlebar grips help with the cycling. Fortunately, bass playing has the opposite effect and reduces my arthritis, for me at least
