  1. On the original, recorded live by the two bands, one of them was Geddy Lee.
  2. Although my favourite MW track is a subtle as a brick...
  3. It could be described as intelligent rock music...
  4. 153 consecutive C-notes over the solo does require an odd mix of concentration and groove... and then if you don't hit that little run down everyone is going to notice 🙂
  5. Learn Sharp Dressed Man* and you get Gimme All Your Lovin' free... *Not really much more involved than working out it starts on C...
  6. Max Webster are certainly one of the best bands no-one has heard of. I have almost all their albums and love the stuff. To be so appreciated by Rush you know they have to be good*. Even if they are about as photogenic as the Enid...
  7. It's a feast for old-school Sabbath fans. There's are explicit nods to some many past songs, (virtually?) all original line-up ones from single licks and guitar sounds up to Zeitgeist being an explicit companion piece to Planet Caravan. Not to mention starting with a pretty definite mission statement: 'Is this the end of the beginning? Or the beginning of the end?' and closing with an exact mirror of the opening of Black Sabbath. An absolute masterpiece of an album that sucked me in on first listening because of its combination of utter familiarity with completely new arrangements. Brad Wilkes captured poor old Bill Ward's feel as well - details like keeping the beat on the bell of a crash cymbal.
  8. Damn. I need a bigger stack...
  9. You can have my brother, be warned he's a guitard.
  10. I went back to a beard about five years ago 🙂 Blessed relief, I hate shaving. Last week I trimmed it into a 'Hulk Hogan' which was a disaster so the next day I shaved it off and started from scratch. Luckily I only take a week to grow a beard.
  11. I practice what I preach!
  12. Phew...I have seen guitars several years old with white circles of plastic on chrome tuners. I start frothing at the mouth...
  13. Someone got a bargain for £850 - there's one on Rverbe for nearly 3 grand... https://reverb.com/uk/item/2972148-warwick-buzzard-limited-edition-only-100-made?locale=en-GB
  14. Very nice, but PLEASE! Peel the little circles of plastic off the back of those tuners right now! Then colour the white washers with a black sharpie...
  15. So what exacertaly is this new definition of 'defeat' you've dreamt up, Teebsy?
  16. Giraus/Moebius, that's it! Thanks! TLRTs are 'those little reaction thingies' in the corner ------>
  17. I used to have a book of comic art with examples of that guy's work, but I've forgotten his name. Can you tell me what it is? P.S great looking builds BTW, but I've run out of TLRTs!
  18. At elast it hadn't got a Fender pickguard still sticker on it... 🙂
  19. My brother who gave me the green DiMarzio stacked humbucker several years ago (he got it in the 80s, it's older than the guitar) suggested I take the cover off. It was a mission, but:
  20. Machine heads came for my Tele. This used to be a vanilla bottom-of-the-specs Korean Squier I bought in about 87:
  21. Never had you down as a speed metaller Bilbo!
  22. Supper's Ready. And I'm proud of it so there!
