  1. It was more than 6 months ago, so the YT service recording will  have been taken down and just the sermon kept up for reference.

It was just little trills and fills rather than the main motif. Imagine " King of Kings, (plinkety-plonk) Majesty (plonkety-plink) ". But with slightly more finess!

  2. Last time I played King of Kings I listened back to the recording and realised that the keyboard player and I had both been putting little arpeggio fills in at the same times, but a couple of octaves apart and always slightly different to each other. It sounded terribly sophisticated,  and I bet we couldn't do it again if we tried!

..part of the joy of owning a DB is that you can brag/complain/compare about all the money you have spent, it's just part of the bargain when you play the best

I drive an old Jaguar. The same thing applies 😅

  4. It depends a bit on the mixer.

I use Mixing Station on my phone against a Qu32 desk, but the same app supports a huge variety of digital desks.

You can have it open to control the while desk, or open in personal monitor mode to just control one output.

Others use the Allen and Heath app, but I like Mixing Station.

Agreed, sound is the most lucrative.

That's good to know. if there is ever a catastrophic collapse in the IT industry.  ( I'm at best a scrappy bass player but consider myself a pretty decent FOH and sound engineer 😁)

I've never been in a gigging band, but these stories are incredible, and occasionally terrifying.

  6. Aha!   I knew this guide was somewhere, but I had to go via the pinned blade sharpening post to find it.
I've replied to it to give it a bump up, as others may not even know it's here.

(I had to plane a sticking door last month and with a badly setup and blunt plane I probably would have done better just chewing the door)

Some serious talent on these pages!

Shame I wasn't there -  if only to bring the average down!

Sounds like it was a great show for all, roll on 2025.

After a bit of a shaky start, i managed to complete the mill run and all signal traces show good continuity between pin pads (and importantly - no continuity to the infill copper!).

A basic question I should have asked at the start: what is the board you are milling? I assume it is a ready-made item with a thin copper plate bonded to an insulating board?

@Richard R I think its fair to say there were certainly a lot of metally looking people and things there

I meant the A3 printer @zbd1960 bought at the photography show. 😁

(If you hang around on this site for too long you'll notice that the question "Is it any good for metal"  is mostly asked about things that are obviously useless for playing metal bass lines on. It's a sad in-joke, and yes we really should grow up)

  10. I sold Terl Bryant a bookcase for £1 on ebay many years ago!  It was no reserve value, collection only from Solihull. He picked it up in a big Saab estate and said he had come up from the South Coast, but that was OK as he was playing a gig in (I think) Wolverhampton. Obviously I asked what instrument and who with, and we chatted about music in general and Graham Kendrick in particular.  A few days later a CD of The Acoustic Gospels came in the post, with an accompanying letter.  Lovely chap. This is still a CD I play regularly,  especially around Easter.

I wonder if he still has the bookcase?

  11. I shall see if I can get over tomorrow afternoon.

The weather was too bad to paint fences, so I cleared a lot of indoor jobs. Hopefully that means I am allowed out to play 😅
