  1. A few years back on another thread about deps and joining bands, someone kindly offered to post a link to the list they sent their deps, which was the list of songs, keys, chord charts and links to videos.  I was trying to find it earlier this year to get some inspiration for practicing things I would never normally play,  but couldn't find the thread, or the post.

Was it anyone on this thread, and if so would she/he be able to post it again?

Well ok, now you've cleared that up but in that brief period of time between my post and your reply, an innocent bass chatter, fully believing he was on the straight and narrow, could have pressed that buy now button and rejoiced in the fact that he was about to receive some new kit whilst feeling proud of his unblemished gear abstinence record...and you would mercilessly cast him out of the club?  I think an erudite solicitor, knowledgeable in Basschat law might take you to task on that.

Said innocent basschatter would be stuffed regardless of the quality of brief they could afford- the rules are at the top of the thread and have stayed fundamentally the same for years.

Plus if she or he  is in any sense a gigging musician then chances are they can barely afford a pair of briefs in these straightened circumstances,  let alone one with a wig.

I bought a bass on Monday, and my wife came with me to pick it up. It felt weird.

That could be read that your wife came along with you to carry the bass as it felt peculiar to you.

Which would raise a lot of questions...

I have a "musician's" policy - it's about £6 a month, and covers my more expensive instruments, the PA, plus 3rd party cover in case someone's injured by my kit. It cover unattended in the car as long as things aren't visible - which in practice means not covered unless I had a van.

    Or maybe a big blanket?

Out of interest, who is the insurer?

  5. Welcome aboard!

There is a lot of love for Thumbs here, and as said above, you'll get an idea of value from the marketplace.

There are also a lot of old guys who no longer want to play boat anchors and prefer lighter basses. Ask for suggestions in the general thread, and you'll get lots of replies.

  6. It was 1974, so of course it looks ridiculous. But it was part of the show and the entertainment,  and as long as the audience had a good time that's the main thing.

I wouldn't wear it for the worship band on a Sunday mind you! 🤣

It’s arrived! As luck would have it she went upstairs when the courier battered the door in. I quickly threw the PA speaker in the van and dived back in the house. She thinks he delivered the smaller parcel that arrived earlier. The flight case won’t arrive until tomorrow now. I really hope she doesn’t want to go out in the van 😂

This is like Terry and June*,  but classier and with PA gear!
