1. So here is the latest update of the current board as used for the last three gigs. Been simplified a bit coz we are playing simple songs and therefore no need for much in the way of effects. as a result the pile of spares is quite extensive!
 2.
Ouch! That's almost as much as the amp itself... couldn't you get some other brand locally for around that money?
Only one retailer of musical equipment in the country as far as we have found so far. Up until recently all they had were LEM gear and 250W x 2 power amp cost £500. A couple of months ago they got some Yamahas in for £400 but only 125W per side. We bought one each of the above so it was still worthwhile getting the t-amp and shipping it. Amazingly the Yamaha speakers they have are selling for almost exactly the same price as thomann have, so any addittional of them we will buy locally.
 3.
Thomann ship to Libya ok?
I wish - tried that but to no avail, got it delivered to London then courier to Tripoli, £130 for the courier fees!
 4.
The Thoman t-amps seems well spec'd for the prices. Does anyone use one? http://www.thomann.de/gb/power_amplifiers.html I've read elsewhere that these are the same as C-Mark amps?
Just bought the 2400, only one gig with it so far but seems ok
 5. I wish this thread had appeared 2 weeks earlier - hey ho, I will know better the next time I go shopping for lights or anything else I have no experience with, to ask here first - Stupid Boy that I am.
 6.
OK. This one here looks similar Skytronic 24 and has a downloadable manual. Another one here Transcension Scene Setter with user manual. It may be that these products are not identical but you might get an idea of how they work from these manuals. Hope this helps.
It certainly looks the same - so barring any firmware differences let us hope it is the same! Thank you kindly sir - very much appreciated. What a lovely place this forum is.
 7. it is a stairville light command 24 I know how to wire everything up - not the most difficult thing luckily!
 8. What a timely thread - just received our lighting set from thomann with 8x8 PAR 56 plus dimmers and controller, however I have no idea whatsoever of what to do with it all and the manual for the controller desk is in German (I have emailed thomann to ask for an english version) So................... Has anybody found any good online guides to using dmx controllers? I do not know what half the labels mean on the front panel so it will be a long guessing game, and we have to use them for a guest band next week who are coming over to Libya from UK.
 9. I agree - OCD, albeit in a very enviable area of interest. Let us be fair, any of us with a touch of gas know that this behaviour is not entirely logical, it is usualy when the habit starts getting beyond the amount of room you have or the available funds that something is done about it. This guy happens to have a bigger garage and expense account than the rest of us. He has not got a stingray as far as I could see, so he must be wierd :-)
 10.
You want a killer cab sub £300, search out Basson, I have one otheir B210B cabs, which I use with my MesaBoogie 400+ and it is killer ( ain't it Ped ). I just couldn't believe how cheap these cabs are at the mo' , I think they are jsut trying to break the UK market so grab a bargain. 110 lbs
Well good they may be but at that weight you do not want to lift their 8x10 version! and of course we have now left the realms of Behringer pricing way behind. Which for some is an unfortunate reality. Nice if you have readies and roadies
 11.
You're quite right: adding growl shouldn't be the role of the speaker - at least not if you want it to have a long and useful life. The growl you're getting from the Behringer is probably the drivers getting a tad overstretched.
Actually it is not that sort of growl, and they are certainly not being stretched at the volume/input levels we are talking about. However it has just occured to me that the reason could be that I had to turn down my amp so much compared to using the Behringers that this is the likely source of the change - had to turn down due to drowning out the rest of the band in its entirety at the previous settings. Thus I guess my amp is idling somewhat compared to before, just going to have to get a bigger PA I suppose (any excuse)
 12. Ok so first rehearsal with peavey 4x10 + 1x18 black widow compared to Behringer bb210 + bb115 Yes I know not a direct comparison but best I can do. In summary, the peaveys sound much better and much much louder. Tighter response, cleaner bottom end However, more difficult to get a growl out of them, but that should not really be their job in the system (should it?) Maybe the peaveys are not reproducing my growl as well as the behringers? Anyway I will get used to them and find my sound in time. conclusion Instead of buying new behringers, better to buy secondhand better brands for similar price I will be keeping the Behringers as a home setup to be used with my crate powerblock for those particularly wildly loud jam sessions that annoy my neighbours at one in the morning.....!
 13.
I for one won't slate you - it backs up what I think about the lottery. A couple of posts back a Behringer user who'd bounced them around the desert for two years with no problems (paraphrasing I know!) and now one who's blown one up second song in. The trouble is we never know, whatever the make, until we've bought it and used it by which time it's too late!
Even as a Behringer fan, one has to be fair and look at the number of people who have had personal bad experiences (not just heard of them). There do seem to be a disproportionate number of failures, but then again is the case that the number of failures per 100 units sold is high? We will probably never know as there are not going to be reliable statistics published across the manufacturers. At the end of the day, one more often than not gets what one pays for and what one is paying for Behringer stuff is very small money (relatively speakering). If I have been lucky then I am glad, but difficult to be accurate.
 14. Hi I have a BB210 and a BB115 I use them bi-amped by my SWR SM500S head. I find them pretty good if a little inefficient. They made it out to Libya on the back of a truck from UK fine in their original packaging and have been thrown around in the back of various pickup trucks for the last two years with apparently no serious problems doing about 1 or 2 gigs per month, and there are still no marks on the carpets either! The tweeter is atrocious on both cabs, but as you can switch it off that is not terminally problematic. Bit heavy for the size maybe. Front grill on the 115 is now a bit loose on one corner, but nothing a woodscrew or self tapper cannot sort out, which I should do as it buzzes sometimes. For the price I would be insane to complain. However I am now upgrading to a 1x18 plus 4x10 peavey setup and will let you all know if there is a big difference in sound quality. Oh btw if I sell them it will be pick up only from Libya due to excessive postage costs :-) Cheers
 15. OK I know I am a bit slow on the uptake, so have only just found we have changed over from Bassworld to Basstalk to Basschat, so there must be an explanation somewhere already posted - can someone point me in the direction as to what has been happening?
