1. If you decide to sell, please let me know first.
2. The new Peavey Vipyr might be what you need? http://www.musicradar.com/reviews/guitars/peavey-vypyr-vip-3-581738
3. Marcus - very nice indeed. I am very envious. One of those would look very fine parked alongside my Streamline. You still need to buy my Stingray with the Status neck of course.....just so you do not forget!
4. Hi All I need to replace the jack socket on my 1979 Stingray. Recommendations for somewhere online I can get the right part?
5. Cure for Gas? Well, err, just buy a bass that is actually perfect for you and then you can stop of course! So simple. It worked for me, and it only took about 35 years. Still have to change strings from time to time though.
6. I have a Yamaha TRB4 and an Ernie Ball Stingray fitted with a Status Graphite neck. What are these 2 going for these days?
7. Pretty much the response I was expecting. JHS are the importers and distributors for the UK for the encore name. I am having a clear out but less than 100 quid is not really an incentive to shift it. So as that is what it is worth I think I will keep it as a future project, maybe just slip a decent pickup into it and keep the original in case of a future sale. My friend has it's cousin in an Encore strat finished exactly the same (gold hardware, tort guard, knobs etc.) but with the more recent headstock shape which they changed to avoid lawsuits from Fender. It might look cool for a gig with the pair of us. Cheers folks, appreciate the thoughts.
8. so I have this Encore p-bass, 1994, limited edition, 68 of 300. I have no idea of how much it is worth. Should I sell it or hold on to it?
9. Mikebass Yes it is an active 5 I am in Malta.
10. 2003 Musicman Sub-5 string bass. Black with steel kickplate style scratchplate excellent condition currently fitted with flatwounds gigbag offers around 500 pounds? Does that sound reasonable??
11. Looks just like mine, and mine is a B0004 serial number and the lacquer has loads of crack marks and lots more bare spaces where it has taken a lot of knocks over the years. Fantastic bass to play.
12. Hi folks as an update, we finally traced the fault to a 4-way extension block. This unit, bought in the UK and of a reputable brand was a filtered type. The filtering was achieved by a capacitor on each socket between live and earth. One of these caps had shorted thus connecting live and earth. Now of course we do not know why it shorted, it is extremely unlikely that it did it all on its own.
13. I have one, use it in our PA system. No problems with it so far apart from the depth which means I am awaiting a new rack that it will fit into.
14. Congratulations Alex Hope you enjoy it as much as I do mine.
15. Cannot find any decent shots of my SM400S but will try to take some tonight. Here it is with current owner and the leader of my host nation. I sent this to the previous owner (Tommy Shannon) to show him where his gear had ended up!
16.
Yes, I forgot yours had a blue tint to it, Al Embic Here's some recent promo pics from Blondie UK. Ignore the fat bloke. The bass is the important bit
It's the bloke off MasterChef.
17. Late to spot this thread, but better late than never. My Streamline and my 'Ray with the Status neck
18. My Streamline is absolutely fabulous. And just to repeat what others have said, the service is world class. Mine was a slightly different spec' as I wanted a MM style single pickup instead of the pair of Status humbuckers, but that was no problem for the team. Cannot possibly reccomend them higher. Call them up and pay them a visit - you will love it.
19. Indeed a great influence as I was growing up and learning to play, and still one of my favourites. Not sure his father in law was ever as enthusiastic about him as most of us on here!
20.
I think I'd be wanting 8.5-9lbs in an ideal world. I like 'em heavy. But if they're going at £1k s/h, what the hell are they new? If it went as far as £1500, we're in Steinberger Territory. And £1500 buys a lot of bass elsewhere... even more so second hand!
You can have them made heavier if you want but tone wise there is no need. I think list is £1350 for the straight ahead model without LED's or any other optional stuff. for me £1K is so close to the price minus VAT that it may not be tempting.
21.
Rob list the weight as 3.2kg / 7lbs , mine is a little heaver as the person who originally placed the order though it was too light!!
Yours has the short lower horn as well - I do believe I played that one at the factory when ordering mine - quite a bit heavier as I recall.
22.
... and here is a slightly different Streamline for your viewing pleasure!
What is that finish (Colour) called? Nice one by the way, good arent they?
23.
Ah very true, seeing as he's the British God of Thunder
Thunder - now there is a great band.
24. Yes they are the same, but if you remove the combohead from the combo, there is no top plate so it is not safe to use. You could easily make a plate so you could use it outside the case, I GUESS.
