4. Well it seems I may have to sell my beloved TRB1004 Natural. You know all about these I think! I have gigged this bass a total of 4 times but it is in need of of some TLC. I'll explain... There a few dings on the neck (purely cosmetic & pics soon), bit of wear on the pick-ups, the battery cover has come off and I have had to replace it with some rather attractive tape and it has a dodgy input socket which are easily replaced. Not too sure about the battery cover though. The overall condition is pretty good, it isn't that old although I don't know the exact age, and I bought it from new. There a few minor dings and scratches that are hardly visible on the back and underside of the bass. I will post pictures very soon, and when I say soon, I mean; as soon as I figured my bloody phone out. And now for the damage... I won't be able to send it by courier, so pick up only I'm afraid. I will be throwing in a gig bag also (not a cheapo nasty one). I could do with a fairly quick cash sale. So, judging by others selling this exact bass in better condition, around the £350 mark. I would be pretty damn happy with £250. Or nearest offer! Price drop and bump! Will take £200 collected
5. The "family". It's loud.
6. Fraid not. Supposedly hard to come by I think. Amp has now been fully serviced and ready to be picked up . Will post pictures soon
7. Great record, and partly why I wanted the amp so badly!
8. Omnomnom. Waiting on this at the moment. Its the head on the bottom . Have used it a couple of times for gigs (was borrowed from the drummer) and it sounded quite incredible! Cant wait to have it in my possession permanently by this weekend! Happy chap indeed.
9. and sold to the hand of john curley!
10. here we are. Only have phone pictures. hope these are ok. will post more if needed
11. Yes this is fo sale. pics coming shortly!
12. Hey dude! Still here?
13. Really? ok. Haven't been here for a while. But I haven't got a bloody clue what to sell it for, as it was part of a trade. It isn't made easier with research either. Will start it off at £90 collected?
14. Hey! I am putting the mini rig up for sale as I will be purchasing a Laney protube shortly so it will be made redundant unfortunately. Only ever used as a practise amp in my home, never gigged. Great condition. It's the 60w 2x10 jobby, and as most of you know, is a ruddy great sounding amp! Not sure what to let it go for at the moment, so I am open to offers. No trades either . Can post pictures if that is what you desire
15. Nice one Oli! looks bloody lovely!
16. Oh if this is still here in a few weeks (unlikely) i may have to grab it off you.
17. i love some of these posts, they have struck a chord with me, thanks guys i really appreciate it. I dont write music with expereinces in mind, i just poop music. Some of it is pretty rubbish, some of it is great (in my opinion). many people have suggested writing from personal experiences but i dont know how to translate that into music, my songs just come naturally from me and alot of it is inspired from artists i regard as great players, such as larry graham and stanley clarke. I'd like my music to be like a comic book, animated and abstract but i want it to, tell a story in a way. apologies for the sh*te grammar.
18.
Wot? - even forest hippy bass players??
Ill take your forest hipies and raise you, death metal forest hippies
19. cheers for the replies so far!! I played him some of my material, and he suggested i needed to play it with more "feel". I just don't understand. The first person i thought of when it came to feel was dave gilmour actually! To me, my songs are great and im proud of what i have achieved. Ive worked extremely hard to obtain the skills i have and it was rather unsettling to hear the things he said!
20. Right, very recently I visited my father who hasn't really taken an interest in my bass playing exploits. Infact, he saw me play for the first time EVER literally weeks ago, and I've been playing for nearly 8 years. I don't see my father much and tbf, he was shocked and also very impressed. He said to me i was "wasted" doing what i am doing (I am a simple store operative at marks and spencer) which is fair enough. I don't doubt my playing abilities, I know for a fact i can make something of them. He said it himself, he even said i was more talented than Ellie (wtf?!). Now, I look up to this guy, even though he has never had a big input in my life. He has never encouraged me to do anything, never acknowleged me for anything i have done, but i look up to him because he has been there and done it. He's a great guitar player and has been playing longer than i have been on this planet. So it's only natural that I still listen to him, right (point aside he is my dad, but i see him as much as rick waller sees salad)? My point is, upon seeing me play, he said i could get very far with my playing and I should pursue it as a career. This really, really inspired me and I am currently working on material. Something struck me though, I didn't really like what he said, he said my music lacked feel. So Im asking you guys, what is feel? surely if you have written something and it means something to you, that is feel, and that is all that matters right? do others need to see the meaning or purpose behind your music?? sure, some people may be able to se it/hear it, but youre the only one that knows deep inside what its all about? Aaaaaand one mooooreee thing. Have you ever experienced anything that has really given you the drive and inspiration to "go for it"? and what inspires you more than anything??
21. he's a bit good mind
22.
I was at the perching at the bar at the back with Matt - bass player for Sunday Girl. If anybody saw us, he's the good looking one, I'm the ugly one! There was a young girl who had obviously had a "pass out" from the parents and had taken advantage of the bar. She was in a bad way. The audience for Ellie was a lot, lot younger than I thought it would be. Lots of teenie boppers around.
ha nice. It could have been one of my other sisters! ha, probobally not. we were all sober. That was until greg james passed me a bottle of glenlivet backstage...
23.
Ellie is going to be/has writing songs for Cheryl Cole according to the internet bumpf. There's my connection with Ellie to X Factor. Have to say, went to Ellie's concert in Brum and thoroughly enjoyed it
I was also. Sat next to the blubbing mother. Pft. Cool gig mind
24.
Because it's their song. She says so herself.
Thanks for clearing that up
25. So where's the evidence "your song" was made for John lewis? I'd like to know. Could we forget about that for one minute and talk about the music, which is what matters? "your song" is featured on the re-release of Ellies album. Wether people like it or not is up to them, tbh I dont like any of my sisters stuff, pop music gets on my dairy pillows. Im trying defend music as a whole, as it is an art and a form of expression which is exploited by douchebags behind big desks and slugs hanging of their penises. Would you walk around an art studio or gallery saying "thats sh*t, thats sh*t"? Sure, i could post this on any forum debating about any artist, I would say the same without a doubt. Apperently i cant take cricisim, how am i getting criticism? I dont think at anypoint I've said I'm going to find you all and beat you up because you've been nasty to my sister! Who knows what the situation behind "your song" was/is (i suppose i could ask her but thats cheating), my opinion on it is, that it's a nice bloody song! 'bout time she left out some of that tedious synth wobble!
