"The Thing" ***SOLD SOLD SOLD***

Thanks leschirons, I'm glad you "get it" too. That's not far off what I was looking for (closer to £180 if possible). Today i've been practicing for an upcoming event and "Thing" has been scowling at me from the corner of the room... Needless to say I didn't do any practice as I just plugged Thing in and started grinning! It's a HUGE sound! Proper laugh out loud! It's ridiculous and ludicrous and just plain weird! I've just got too many basses to keep it (and frankly it scares all my other basses) No idea about posting it - a courier would refuse as its too weird (ugly?) for them 🤣😜? Probably collection or I can travel a bit if it helps anyone? Its just so funny to play! -

Thanks for looking. Yes it sounds like a huge monster when going through a 900W amp and a 2x12 cab. It's certainly unique! I'm looking for it to be played and not have to live in my garage surrounded by bags of cat litter and old paint cans! It has too much history for that fate! Make an offer, you might be surprised... -

Up for sale is my EUB aka "Thing". It's a 1950's double bass neck grafted onto a stainless steel frame (actually the neck has some lovely flaming of the grain) . It has a standard 41.5" double bass string length and an old Schaller magnetic pickup (fully adjustable) proper bridge and nut. People have described the sound as an angry P bass(!). Obviously it can't be bowed but all the ergonomics and dimensions have been copied from my 200yr old "real" double bass. The frame is stainless steel and fully adjustable - it collapses into quite a small package. It's currently painted in a rather crappy blue/white effect (I must have been drunk at the time...) it was acid etched originally back in 2005 to show off the stainless but I was fed up with finger marks. I guess repainting it black would be the obvious call? The Thomastic strings are completely dead, the pickup works perfectly, the paint is chipped in places and it's not exactly light - no case either. It's great for loud, great for growly, great for turning heads (sometimes even for the right reasons!). I've played it for many corporate events even theatre gigs, weddings and I've played it for Obama, Clinton and our shower of sh*t politicians, the G8 nations conference, TV stuff and most of the European heads of state and all the celebs when they've come to conferences at the Celtic Manor Resort. I've absolutely no idea what it's worth? If it's use to someone out there make me an offer (there's about £100 of stainless steel in it). It'll need new strings and a polish /paint. Reason for sale - the missus is going nuts (I've got 6 basses - 3 double basses) and she needs the room for women stuff! And my garage is full of clutter so I can't stick it in there... What do you think?

Hi Thinning the herd.. For sale my GK MB150E. 2x12 2x 12" Paragon speakers in a sealed cab 150w into 4ohms. Fed up with lugging the MB150E plus the matching 12" extension cab I commissioned a 19mm Baltic Birch ply sealed cabinet with both the 12" Paragons from the MB150E and the extension cab creating a MB150E 2x12 combo. It's a very small footprint for a 2x12 combo 400mm wide x 350mm deep x 770mm tall. Satin varnished cabinet really looks attractive on stage. With added grab handles and a double padded cover included plus a printed copy of the owners manual. The punchy warm GK sound without having to schlep around the extension cab Thanks for looking.

Hi all I have a pair of Euphonic Audio CvL 1x10 cabs for sale. Ultra rare, I'm told EA only made 6 at a huge loss just to see if their engineers could do it! Each cab has 1 kevlar coated 10" speaker matched with a 5" and a 1" horn. These were the genesis of the famous "Transmission Line" speakers (the whizzy etc). They are the first of the 3 way crossover cabs (with adjustable mid and high attenuators). Rated (very conservatively) at 250w 8ohm. Response from 41hz to 15khz. My two has a slot each to fit an amp (see pictures - amp not included in sale), I've fitted a stainless grill plate over one of the slots. Plus they both have tilt back levers. These are very highly rated cabs with studio grade audiophile reference sound. Stacked together they are simply "nuclear power in a suitcase" *quote bass guitar mag*. I've had them from new and always looked after them. Never let me down and my double basses sound superb through them. They really fill a room with the sound of your bass. 450mm wide, 390mm deep and 460mm high (or 920mm stacked for the ultimate mini stack) I'd prefer to sell as a pair, otherwise they're £150 each, £280 for the pair. *and no, I don't know why one has the red EA logo and the other has the white logo? Thanks for looking.

Thanks, I'm in absolutely no hurry to sell or swap it, it'll only go if the right bass comes along. It has a superb sound and is completely unmarked , I just miss "shoulders" on a EUB, I may very well have it next June! Send me your number or email (or friend me on FB - Graham Tuck) and ill send you as many pics as you want. Thanks for the message Cheers Graham -
Just putting this out there... My immaculate NS designs CR4T, in perfect condition, neck in unmarked condition, this is the "T" (traditional double bass) version with the brass button at the back of the ebony neck so when your hand slides up it indicates the reference position where a 3rd position D is. The action is higher as well so you can really dig in. It's adjustable so you can set it ultra low as well. Strung with Thomastik Spiracores which make a lovely growl especially on the E string. Very powerful 18v preamp with vol, bass, treble and blend knobs (the blend knob alters the phasing between the "mwah" and thud sound, or fully arco focused.) It's a superb instrument with incredible craftsmanship and finish, a real head turner. Comes with NS padded case, NS tripod adjustable stand so it stays completely stable when not played, Allen keys, polishing cloth and if I can find it I'll throw in the NS Boomerang harness (£165 new)so you can walk around with it slung around your shoulders (just like Tony Levin - if that's your thing!) Not really for sale as I'd like to SWAP it for a Yamaha SLB200 - They're about the same price new (the NS T is a little bit more). I'm a double bassist first and foremost and miss the shoulder profile so the yam would suit me better. Let me know if you need pics and I'll send you loads.
