Great playing bass, looks and sounds like it should. I've just come to the realisation that I always pick up my Jazzes first and this is way too nice to not be played. Fitted with a Hipshot Xtender for drop D goodness but the original E tuner will be included. MM call the colour Sapphire Black... it's basically like a metallic charcoal grey. Not a lightweight at 10.4lbs (4.7kg) but I've never had any issues with the weight. There are a couple of small dings in the body that I've pictured but otherwise in great condition. Comes with fitted hard case. Price includes shipping... just need to find a box! Open to offers and trades... specifically looking for a couple of lightweight 1x12s

I've managed to get plenty of info from this thread... just sorry I opened such a can of worms! All the comments in this thread are truly appreciated though, and I'll be sure to discuss with the band the way they do things. They're guys in their 40s playing rock covers so I'd imagine it's a more old school approach but no harm in hearing different ways of doing things.

Thanks for all the replies, I will try to get more info from the band about their setup and figure out the best course of action from there. Sounds like my amp and cab are up to snuff so I'll probably get a Sansamp or something as a backup too. The main thing is I want to be prepared, and make sure any issues aren't due to me not having a piece of gear that every bass player should know about! The guys in the band have been doing it for 20+ years so they're taking a bit of a chance on someone with no live experience.... I just want to make sure they don't regret it! I know there are many ways to do things and no right way, so I appreciate all your advice. Can't wait to get on stage!

Hi guys, I'm a former guitarist and pretty new to the world of bass, and I've never played live (at 39... I know!). I've been offered the bass spot in a gigging cover band after the pandemic is over and I have a couple of things I'm not sure about gear-wise. These will be pubs and small club gigs. 1) How often do you get to use the DI from your amp, or mic it? I really like the sound of my amp (Microtubes 900), and the DI sounds great to me. Do engineers prefer DI pedals? I was thinking of getting a Sansamp or something as a backup, but if engineers will always prefer using that, the overdrive from my amp probably wouldn't get used except for my monitoring (and I really like the sound). Would I be better off getting a DI box like a Radial instead? 2) The amp is 900 watts (I usually run it in 500w mode) and I use a 700w Epifani UL212 cab. Will this be way too much for most small venues? Would I be better off getting 2 smaller cabs so I have the option to run one in 350 or 500w mode, or combine the two for bigger venues? Sorry if these are beginner questions, I just don't want my lack of live experience to be detrimental to the band and I want to be as flexible as possible for the venues.

I bought an MXR Envelope Filter pedal from Lee and it arrived very quickly and was as described. Wouldn't hesitate to buy from him again. Cheers.
