I still think Ampeg is my favourite amp brand
Same here, after many many amps it’s the one I’ve settled on, can’t see me using anything else in the future

I think it's a way of people of a certain age justifying to their other halfs spending extra on a vintage instrument

If a precision or jazz came up with the exact date month and year on the neck stamp I’d be seriously tempted to buy it, but I haven’t seen one yet

Much louder or a bit louder ?
the pf50 through the same cab the big baby ll can go fairly loud but I’d say the v4 is much louder, it has a different sound though, a bit hard to explain, the eq works really well and you can get a nice warm tone, great with a precision

Is the PF50T close to the V4B for volume ?
Hi BA, I’d say no, the V4 is louder

All good. I’ve bought a few bits from them and they’ve always been more than excellent. Perhaps they have fixed this issue. I just wanted to share my experience as it’s a good price for a really lovely bass.I’ve bought from them before too and all was good and nice people, they do get the occasional vintage bass or two in

Thanks for the heads up BB, always good to know

Thanks. I'm obsessed with Sean Hurley.
Guarantee you will like this one John , I’ve seen it twice and gonna watch it again

If anyone is a fan of Sean this is a definite must to watch, he’s the only non reggae bassist I follow, it’s fairly long but well worth the time, I’m not familiar with the tracks but he breaks down how he played the basslines and the chord structures , such great knowledge

A very clean looking Precision on ebay, claims it’s a ‘70. All the money though.

These are short scale, I doubt they'll be long enough as the Ball to taper length is 32.25” (820mm).
Ah thanks, i was just looking on labella site for the lengths

Hi Tom, I only use flats and have never had a string snap, I think the combination as above of cutting down long scale and the smaller peg is the answer, maybe try putting out a wanted ad for the shorter strings and measure to the silks so you know your ok , short scale flats do come up now and again, all mine are long or you could have had some

I never really used to look at maple fingerboards, I’ve always gone for rosewood, but I’m quite liking them now , I think I need one 😁
