I need the jazz basses to be sold out. I’ve got far too many basses and the temptation to buy the jazz is almost unbearable. 😩

Can anyone point me in the right direction for a good tutorial for a Tumbao? I’ve got a piano one and it’s good but just not sticking. I need something I can play over and over till it’s in the noggin! Basic stuff, I just need to put the notes in the right place!

I have them in a couple of basses. Boosting the bass does increase the volume, but only as much as I'd expect from the bass being boosted.
Actually it’s fine, I’m talking nonsense. It might be a problem on the track where the bass is boosted to 100% for the verse and 0% for the chorus but that track doesn’t exist! -
Anyone use one of these? I’ve got a bass with a Delano sonar 2 preamp fitted and when I boost the bass the volume really gets much louder and when I cut the bass the volume really gets much quieter. It might be normal but seems a wee bit extreme!

Keith bought my fretless Rick, the transaction went incredibly smoothly and he was a pleasure to deal with! Thoroughly recommended top bloke!

I have the 2013 EB5 bought new for a knockout £550. It does only weigh 3.5kg & the pickups are great. Very well appointed. It’s not getting used enough, I must resurrect it.
I really like the look of them but a bit more expensive now. Gibsons are a bit of an unknown for me, so it’s hard to imagine what it might sound like!

Anyone have any opinions on these? I missed out on them when they were really cheap but am looking for a lightweight 5 that's a bit unusual.

I might be daft, but I can't imagine this having enough of an impact on the sound that id swap an interface for.
I actually think I’m being daft worrying about it!

On a decent audio interface the preamps should essentially be transparent so it shouldn't matter.
I reckon that's probably the case.

not sure how the signal would be picked up from the bass to your DAW without a preamp?
I already have a preamp, so I need a line level input but a lot of interfaces with line level inputs have combo jacks and they don't bypass the preamp, it's essentially a pad so you don't clip the interface. Probably no big deal but if you already have a sound you like then the interface preamp is not necessary.

I think the basic Behringer models will do that. About £22.
David
That’s nuts

Can anyone recommend an interface that has no preamps or you can bypass the preamps ? Just for recording the bass, no mics or guitars! Can be a single input!

Bought an Ampeg SGT DI from Paddy. No problems at all and a pleasure to deal with. Thanks Paddy!

The neck is Jazz bass slim but I don't think it's any different from Cort's usual Jazz style profile. I've never seen anything to suggest that it was carved to Jeff's specification. All Basses are different and wood, even from the same batch, has different qualities but I've owned mine since 2016 (I think) and I've always used .40's on it and I haven't had to adjust the truss rod once. Of all the basses I own, it's the only one I've never had to adjust (well, of all the basses I own that hand truss rods).
Thanks Chris really useful information mate, really helpful!

£1900 plus p&p
Got my eye on a 5 string hence the reduction!

Something like the Ibanez SR505, very manageable shape and weight, and I’m guessing similar string spacing to the Cort?
Nothing wrong with Bass Collection by the way, the Nanyo range are ace.Probably a bit modern looking for me... which is the same issue I have with the Bass Collections even though they are 30 odd years old 😀

I’m just looking for a relatively inexpensive 5er that’s not two heavy. Had a stingray (too heavy) an old Yamaha which I wish I hadn’t got rid of! And currently have a couple of bass collections which are great but i dunno if I’d play them live because they are a bit marmite! I just like the look of Rithimic V and the config, obviously Jeff great but not a big factor!

I had one. Loved everything about it except the pickups. To me they sounded sterile and 'boring'. My extremely amateur opinion though, so take it with a pinch of salt.
Thanks! Was it relatively lightweight?

Any opinions on these or does anyone own one? I have unnatural cravings!

I put one of these Gotohs on my four string fretless. It fitted fine and has done a good job.
What model is that?

Anyone got any suggestions for a replacement bridge for an SB315? I've replaced the tuners and knobs but stuck on the bridge ... got a Song IL but it was too big!

I built the same transformer to a round Neutrik XLR - jack connector set. But as commented earlier, no through jack. Therfore this is usable with double output pedals like with stereo chorus.
This could maybe work!

I saw a switchcraft which looked small but no specs
