The TC impulse has quite a high max length from memory. Not tried it
TC looks perfect but I'd almost exclusively using it with the EUB so a pedal that doubles as a headphone amp would be handy.

Can anyone recommend an IR loader to use with my NS Design EUB with the Sigma Bass IRs? @JPJ looks like he has done the same thing I'm thinking of. I could use the stomp but apparently it's better to have more milliseconds. The TC Electronics looks good but ideally I'd like a headphone out to double as a wee practice rig. Looked at the Tonexone but not sure if it will be better than the stomp .... or if I'll even notice 😄

Turns out the high mass bridge I has had left an indentation in the finish so I have to stick with it. 😔

Just wondered if anyone had tried the Hosco vintage Fender style bass bridges. I’m considering the Hosco, the more expensive Allparts and the even more expensive Fender. They all look very similar.

The first two digits of the serial number will give you the year. It looks like '95', but there might be a more legible version of it inside the cavity somewhere.
Looks lovely - the Audere preamp is a great upgrade.
Cheers Pete that's brilliant looks like 95!

£320 Plus postage!
A SGC Nanyo Bass Collection 5 string made in Japan. Everyone knows how great these basses are I just need to thin the herd!
The bass says SB310 series 3 so I'm not sure of the date, it has a lovely translucent red where you can see the grain so not the solid colour you see on lots of them. The electronics were always the weak spot so this has been fitted an Audere Classic Preamp which sounds fantastic.
The bass comes with gold hardware but I also have black hardware, I'll include if I can find!
The bass is used and I've tried to show any dings in but it still looks fantastic.
Just so you know the bass had some damage around the strap buttons so I had a luthier repair them and in my opinion they look great but I thought I would mention. The only other thing that annoys me a bit is when fitting the pre the luthier drilled a hole so you can see the active light. It looks fine but I can see where a tiny bit of the finish has chipped and it's not entirely circular but it's really hard to see. But this is reflected in the price.
I don't want to focus on the negatives this is a fantastic lightweight bass which plays just brilliantly and the Audere preamp just makes it pop!

Very rare Kawai AQB 500 Japanese PJ the bass has bolt-on maple neck. Pickups and hardware are all Kawai branded. Kawai is more renowned for pianos but they made some cool guitars and basses in the 80s
Bought a little while ago and it's great but my collection of basses is expanding and I need an intervention. It is in great condition for 40 year old bass but obviously has dings here and there and the hardware is a little tarnished. It sounds brilliant and is very playable.
£250 plus postage buys you some excellent MIJ goodness!

Has anyone had a look at the Tonecrafter GPT for ChatGPT? I’m very lazy so it’s quite attractive 😀. Seems quite interesting.
i asked for suggestions for Tim Lebvre tone and got this result
Tim Lefebvre is known for his distinctive bass tones, often characterized by deep, warm lows, overdriven mids, and modulated textures. Here’s a recommended tone setup for the Line 6 HX Stomp, tailored to his style:
Key Elements of Tim Lefebvre’s Tone:
1. Amp Model:
• Ampeg SVT-4 Pro or Ampeg B-15 are great starting points in the HX Stomp.
• Set Gain to moderate for slight breakup.
• Boost the low mids (around 150-250 Hz) for warmth.
• Cut slightly around 1-2 kHz if his smoother tones are desired.
2. Overdrive:
• Use the Obsidian 7000 block (Darkglass-style preamp) for a driven, modern sound.
• Blend: Set around 50-60% to retain clean lows.
• Drive: Medium for growl.
• Boost: Low-mid frequencies for punch.
3. Modulation and Effects:
• Chorus: Use Dimension Chorus or 60s Bias Trem subtly to add movement.
• Rate: Slow.
• Depth: Moderate.
• Pitch Shift: Add Simple Pitch for slight detuning for texture.
4. Compression:
• LA Studio Comp works well.
• Ratio: 4:1.
• Attack: Slow for natural transients.
• Release: Fast to keep articulation.
5. Cabinet:
• 4x10 SVT Cab with a mic blend like the 57 Dynamic for punch and clarity.
6. Signal Chain Order:
• Input > Compression > Amp > Overdrive > Modulation > EQ > Cab.
Additional Tips:
• Experiment with parallel signal chains to blend clean tones with effects.
• If Lefebvre’s more experimental tones are your target, try adding the Synth-O-Matic or Bitcrusher blocks for unique textures.
Would you like detailed knob settings for any of these blocks?

Hi I recently bought a Fender 50s Classic p bass. First P Bass I've ever owned and I love it but I was wondering if there is a similar old school style P Bass but with a thinner neck? I'm used to a Musicman and found the odd part a wee bit of a struggle on the P Bass.... I could just practice a bit of course!

I bought one but it won't arrive until next month.
I must say that I didn't know it was a Solid State Preamp with a Valve Power Amp section. I know that the previous model was, but I thougth this one wasn't. The valve in the preamp is just for overdrive (just like in their OriginAL preamp). However, I heard many Demos on Youtube (mostly about the previous version) and it sounds pretty good. I already think about swapping the valve (I did the same in the Preamp). Dave said it was fine, but that it won't make much of a difference. I expect to get more sweet spots with the Gain, since I prefer mostly clean with some hair. I will report back when I have the amp.
@steviedee how are you enjoying yours?
I think it's awesome it's my go to for fun but it is loud, my plan is to use it for recording either try the di or mic the cab. I've got the capo and the cranbourne audio ec1 so the plan is to record a signal from the either the capo or the Cranbourne and send the clean signal to the ashdown for a more overdriven tone. Might be overkill or it might be great but I'm glad I bought it either way. However, buying the Ashdown has made me buy a P Bass to get that old school vibe. I blame Ashdown!
Seriously though I really like it.
