  1. I know, weird how that happens. After our set I went out to the bar in the lobby alone to see if I'd get recognized and get a little attention. A guy came up to me and started asking me about my tone and playing. Before he could get a few words out I interrupted him and merely said " Busy ! " Lol 😄 Daryl
  2. Pice from last nights show at The Bend Theatre. Not my best night. The Theatre was packed, around 350 people. Nice dressing rooms comped with high end pizza and drinks. The real take away for me was, doing these hour and 20 minute theatre shows I find were positioned where were have to put more energy into the show than you would put into a 4 hour bar gig. I was wore out at the end of the show. Blue

  4. We've had 3 really good gigs in a row. However, we had a real stinker about a month ago. Upscale restaurant , however it was not a music crowd. They come to eat and then they leave. Why do these folks book bands when they know they don't have a music crowd? Blue
  5. We have the same LEDs.👍 Blue
  6. I agree, this place sounds like bad news. Blue
  7. Acoustic Gig Good gig, The Harley Motor & Restaurant. 5:00-8:00 Top notch staff. Blue
  8. Set list ? Whatever the BL calls out. Blue
  9. Fantastic! Blue
  10. Nice photos. Blue
  11. Long narrative. Me , Jenny and Dave left for Malone WI to do a 1-4 acoustic set at The Ziegler Winery. It was an hour commute one way, however it was a bright sunny fun drive in the country. The Ziegler Winery is relatively new and they book allot of live music. We're taking the full Maple Road band up there this summer to play their outside stage. The place was all class. Outstanding staff, cool people I spoke with one of the managers. Very attractive and you could tell she understands the whole being in band thing. Upscale well heeled generous patrons. Plenty of space for the band and easy load in. There was a couple from Milwaukee that came to our Maple Road show Saturday night at Rockfield Live that drove all the way up to the Winery to see the acoustic stuff. I thought I played better than I did the night before. Good gig. Blue
  12. Thanks Dave, Jenny calls me out to solo on the spur of the moment. I'm not very good at soloing. Daryl
  13. Found this from Saturday night. For you classic blues fans, " Crossroads" https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid0jzH6sJTkssHXSZz1XhpXeA2C1tzofSktfJ6DgTkFDvotrfBaQ9caZ3my5vpWbwEAl&id=100008861322447&sfnsn=mo&mibextid=RUbZ1f Blue
  14. Not our best performance but we put on an honest fun Maple Road show. Our first lead guitarist had a fantastic night. Me, I made more than one mistake. We recorded the evening live. The best part was this very cool intimate venue. This guy turned his old 3 story Victorian home into a a little concert hall with a full size bar. BYOBB ( bring your own brown bag ). Plenty of cool couches sofas and davenports and a section with theatre type seating. This might seem shallow, however I did enjoy the attention during our break. I like and enjoy that people I don't know want to talk to me only because I played. If I look at my life on the whole, other than my playing there's no real reason anyone would want to talk to me.😀 Great crowd and all ages. The place was packed , looked like about 125 people. Very lucrative gig. Acoustic gig toda at The Ziegler Winery, 1-3. Blue
  15. We're going to record this one live. Maple Road Rockfield Music & Media Germantown WI Saturday Night 3/18 8PM Blue
  16. No cash? We were playing a nice room with a good crowd and at the end of the night, no money. We had to go back twice and demand our money. They paid us and stopped booking us. Blue
  17. Lol, ever been through this one. It's the end of the evening and time to settle up with the pay. The owner or manager is not there and the staff knows nothing about the pay? Daryl
  18. Show business is so glamorous. Lol Blue
  19. Lol, I actually know what crisps are. Daryl
  20. I'd say very few bars and restaurants understand the business from our perspective. The Harley Motor blocks off special parking for bands, they greet you and drinks and meals are comped for the band. They get it. Blue
  21. It's also called " take the money and run " Blue
  22. We played Revere's last night, 8:00-11:00. It was an awful night. First of all we hadn't had a gig in 4 weeks. Load in was horrible. We drove around in the van for 45 minutes before we found a parking spot. It gets worse. It's an upscale restaurant, however it's not a music crowd. As soon as they finished their meals they left. So, by 9:00 we were playing to about 6 people. And to top it off, I sounded like crap. How's that for transparency ? Blue
  23. I learned the hard way with an invisible bear. Blue
  24. Flower in my hair? Lol no flowers in my hair. I think it's a reflection from my glasses. Daryl
