  1. I don't think any band would have had any inpact on me as a 4 year old. Blue
  2. And Meet The Beatles and Something New we're probably my onlyy Beatles records. But I was never necessarily a Beatles records fanatic. I was and still am a Beatles fanatic. Huge difference Blue
  3. The thing about The Beatles, you don't have to listen to them or like them. They're still going to be The Beatles. Blue
  4. Usually it's the band that really hit you when you became of age. Coming of age in 1964 can sort of speak for itself. However you had to have some help. At age 10 my Dad purchased The Beatles Meet The Beatles and Something New. He also bought Manfred Man's album Do Wah Diddy for me. Some people come from homes where art in general and music were non-existent. I've heard people my age say, "I don't really listen to much music". To me that's like saying " I really don't breathe much' It's certainly nothing to brag about. Blue
  5. Consistency, you can't have 2 good gigs out of 4. Blue
  6. Nice tribute, I guess. Blue
  7. Exactly my point. Blue
  8. One of the few things being born in 1953 was good for. Being 10 years old in 63 was perfect timing. Before The Beatles most of my time was spent trying to figure out how to get more candy. Blue
  9. There will always be Jaco threads. I wonder why? Blue
  10. For me Dino from The Rascals (3 Italian & 1 Irish guy) was the first guy to take the drums to the next level for pop music. Very progressive for 1966. Blue
  11. Agreed, Did I forget to mention they also looked great in suits? Blue
  12. I never gave any thought to John's singing. I was listening to "The Beatles" It was all Fab. Blue
  13. Yeah it's weird. I get a cheap $12.00 haircut once a month. I found out from a friend who is in the business, even for a 12 buck cut they get pissed if you don't tip at least $5.00. But I get it, their hourley wage is a complete joke. Blue
  14. Cool as I mentioned our NYE gig hours are great, 2:00-7:00. I get home by 8:30. Blue
  15. Dave, on a good night tips can mean an extra $25.00 bucks per man. Blue
  16. Cool, I can dig it. Thing is anybody can be a drummer, Ringo was a Beatle. And that's hard to pull off. Blue
  17. It's been said before, the guy that shows up with the shiny new huge elaborate kit and can't play. Blue
  18. Great looking guitar and bass. A lot of binding and classic good looks. I hate to be an old geezer. But man did those guys look great in suits or what? Blue
  19. People think my head is so far up The Beatles arse nobody takes me seriously. As for Ringo, do drums even matter when you have songs that great? Blue
  20. Extra lessons, lol hilarious. I can't stop laughing.? Blue
  21. Since we're talking about money and some if you know I love sharing this story. There is this couple that come out to see our band. On 2 separate occasions they have tipped each band member and our sound person $100.00 each. That's crazy, a little embarrassing, awkward and awesome cool at the same time. I know our cultures are different on tipping. Over here had we tried to refuse the tip it would have been considered insulting. Blue
  22. That's where I'm at too. Put me in a packed bar full of live rock music fans with my band and I feel at home. Blue
  23. Now that I think about. In my area, there's no big pay upgrade for NYE gigs at the bar band level. I think the big NYE pay upgrades apply to Function and corporate band gigs. Blue
  24. Not NYE, but we had a $1,200.00 for our 4 peice. Great little venue out in the sticks a little south of St.Paul Minisota. We did not know there was a $10.00. Turn out was a bust, but somehow they came up with the cash. It was however an awkward situation. Our rule has always been we won't play a place that charges a cover. We're a bar band people shouldn't have to pay to see us. The cover at the door thing has been dead for decades at the bar band level in my neck of the woods. Blue
