  1. I've actually contacted him asking him how he can honestly call his work an "improvement" and justify the price he's charging for such "improvements" and he acts like a petulant child over it. How can he justify a 100+% mark up on some of these items that he ruins over even the new retail list price? Instead of sending a decent reply, he actually decided a personal insult was more appropriate. I contracted eBay as did my friend who he tried to con and their response was basically "he has 100% feedback so we see no problem".
  2. I discovered this one after he’s tried to scam a friend of mine who’s selling a guitar on eBay. Tried to tell him it’s a different cheaper model to the one he’s selling and that just because it has a hard case shown in the photos (title and description both say “case not included”), he should apparently include the case as it’s eBay law that what’s pictured is for sale. as for if he’s a BC member or not, that doesn’t matter to me. Warnings need to be in place to protect people from scammers/badgers like Mr Phillips. I have heard stories of youngsters/beginners unfortunately being messed over by him selling them unplayable guitars even though “the set up is the very best”. This one is a very prime example. He’s messed up a perfectly fine 7 string (that’s about £200 new) and made it totally unplayable then expects to get over double the RRP on it? I’m sorry but if you’re happy to have people like this in your “community” then that’s one I don’t want to be a part of.

  4. What a great competition! Currently using D'addario Pro Steels and Chrome Flatwounds. Have never tried the NYXL bass strings but tried the guitar ones and they were great! Heard the NYXL's have a lasting top end to them which is exactly what I like in strings! Plenty of ziiiiing! haha
  5. Really tempted by this but don't know how to go about getting it picked up or shipped as it'll likely be very expensive. Need to look in to it.
  6. Great pedal from the "Tone-Lok" series of pedals (which I wish more companies would do) with the push in/pop out knobs. This pedal served me well for a long time but I stopped using it and replaced it with a compressor on my board as I didn't have the room. Few small knicks in the finish but works perfectly. Can be switched from a Chorus to Flanger with the flick of a switch and has a "Krazy" mode (spelt with a "K" for extra crazy) which makes things VERY interesting! Glow-grip tape on the foot board can be removed and cleaned up if you so wish but I find this stuff great for seeing pedals in the dark and getting better grip on the button! No box. Looking for £45 £40 +. £5 Please excuse the photo, my phone isn't the greatest!
  7. Hey, this is a relatively short one. Has any one on here ever done a wiring mod to their Seymour Duncan SPB-3 pick up for switching it between series and parallel? I'm considering doing this on one of my basses. Thanks
  8. *pre warning, this might be a little bit of an essay and it may not all be grammatically correct* Okay, bit of a long title but something that I was thinking about earlier. Do you have your basses loaded with completely different pick ups/electronics to do different things? Reason is ( I'll list below what with what) I personally have all my basses loaded with totally different pickups and even though they're completely different basses so will sound completely different which (even though 2 of them have active pre-amps on board) I can get basically any sound I want to get from these basses (the exception to me being a Music Man Stingray sound but I might put a MM pick up in my next bass) which means that I can keep my number of basses reasonably low due to space restrictions and also means I can just get really used to using a small set of basses. I even have different strings on them all to give different sounds. The only things I keep consistent are Badass II bridges on all (apart from the 5, going to get a Badass V) and Hipshot Ultralites with Hipshot X-tender (apart from the P Bass which has Fender Vintage pegs and Hipshot X-tender). My basses are as follows: 1* Fender SH MIJ 2010 Precision Bass - Seymour Duncan SPB-3, 500k pots, switchcraft output (Rotosound BS66 43-110) 2* Jackson CMG Concert Bass - EMG 35CS(n) 35DC(b), neck/series/parallel/bridge rotary, EMG BQC, switchcraft barrel output (Ernie Ball Slinky 45-105) 3* Tobias Toby Pro IV-B - Nordstrand Big Splits, neck/series/parallel/bridge rotary, EMG BQC, switchcraft barrel output (D'addario Pro Steel 45-110) 4* Shine P/J bass (heavily customised)** - Dual blade humbucker, Dimarzio Model PJ set, mono/split outputs (Humbucker to one, P/J set to other) neck/series/parallel/bridge rotary, 100% treble cut pot on Humbucker side/Seymour Duncan stacked 2 band EQ on P/J set side, switchcraft stereo outputs on each (D'addario Pro Steel 65-130 BEAD) 5* Infinity Fretless V 5 string - ESP Passive Soapbars, ESP 3 band EQ, switchcraft output (D'addario Nickel 40-125) ** build diary coming soon So yeah, it would be interesting to hear what you others on here have your basses set up for or if you prefer to have very similar instruments for the exact same tone and purpose?
  9. Dude that is exactly what I'm after! How much did that set you back if you don't mind me asking?
  10. Ah brilliant! Thank you for the "heads" up! I've taken a look at those and they look like they might just fit the head unit in to it so fingers crossed! Going to see what I can do to get hold of one!
  11. Hi David, the amp is totally enclosed so a rack tray wouldn't work. I have done that before with a previous Trace Elliot I had though that was open topped
  12. I tried them recently and they didn't have any listed at all. Fired them an email and got no reply either. Just double checked and there's none on there unfortunately
  13. Hi everyone Just a quick one for you lot as I'm finding nothing. Does anyone know where to get the rack ears for a Trace Elliot Gp12 SMX or does anyone on here have any they're willing to part with? I have a GP12 SMX but it didn't come with the wooden sleeve and I'd like to rack mount it for protection. Any help is really appreciated. Thanks
  14. Hey everyone! Been loving the idea of the Orange OB-1 300/500 combo that have the head as a removable rack mount section and the single 15 cab but was wondering if anyone knows of a company that does a combo very much like it but instead of the 15" speaker, it has a 12 speaker as I'd like to get one to mount my Trace Elliot GP12 head in to and fit my favourite speaker (Fane Medusa 150 12"). I basically just want the enclosure to make my own project from. If any of this doesn't make sense then please excuse me, I've had too much coffee today and it's showing haha! Cheers

  17. Ah man! I really wish I had the money for this. I have the Saffire Pro 24DSP but want to build a rack studio rig. Shall see if I can shift some stuff
  18. Hey everyone. One of my basses is undergoing a colour change and the black plastic pick up covers on the P and J pick ups just won't look right with it. Nor would cream or white. So, I was wondering, does any one on here know of anywhere you can get different coloured pick up covers made? I would love some in a toxic/neon/slime green as that would fit the colour of the bass perfectly!
  19. Those are all things I have around my house! I can get to the back of the speakers just by taking the back panel off (I believe anyway, it’s been ages since I’ve properly used it!). It’s fairly central so hopefully it’s an easy fix. Thank you for your help!
  20. Hey everyone i have an old 4x12 cabinet that I’ve been using but unfortunately and rather stupidly, I managed to drop a screw driver which got caught in the mesh grille on the cab and punctured a hole in the speaker. The hole isn’t very big but obviously, not good to have a hole in it. What is the cheapest and easiest method to repair the hole in the speaker? When I say it’s a small hole, it’s sbout 4mm in diameter. any help would be appreciated
  21. Sorry Chris but Mike has got them! Why don't you grab @Donnyboy's J set off him? Cheers every one.
  22. The x series pick ups are just the same as the regular ones but with higher output so these are exactly the same sounding really
