Stunning looking bass in the vid, just me or do these sound "treble heavy"...?
Don’t think the video was the best, twiddling too much, i always start everything in the middle and tweak a bit at a time. But if you only have Like 10 minutes and 4 basses to through you will end up just skimming over.

Well, the red Rebop and the Rebop MM in Trans Blue are both already gone. Was really tempted to get the red one. Too late. 2 of the 3 Legend NTs are also already gone. Happy for whoever bought these. Awesome basses.

Price dropped open to sensible offers

Best of both worlds Tech 21 deuce delux, FRFR but looks and feels like a traditional cab got a 3 band eq HPF & LPF, really brought out all the subtleties on my Helix Stomp, loud 200w if required for stage volume Di in and out.
Had mine a couple of weeks really impressed.

Price drop, had a couple of inquiries not followed through.

Pulled the trigger on one of these, should have it tomorrow, fancied one since they came out, but waited till there was more reviews feedback. Only concern for me is lack of blend for the drive, but it does have separate level control so i hope that works well as a blend. I have had 3 previous pre amps, the Ehx battalion, excellent all round unit with an ok drive section, but sold it as just had little real use for it. Tech 21 Vt, not keen on that, farty muddy drive section. MXR M80 good unit but drive too harsh even at starting level sucked all the low end and had to use blend at 30/40% all the time. If the M80 had a low fain and high gain switch it would be the best Di out there.
I like all the positive reviews around the Downtown that its a nice warm Drive that keeps the low end, but got juice in the tank if you want to crank it.

Still fir dal, had a couple of potential buyers lined up, who did nit follow through.

When the rest of the bass playing world wakes up to the fact of HB's astonishing ability to turn out flawless instruments and flog them at a 5th of the price of the competition, there will be more than a few manufacturers looking nervously over their shoulders.
This is another beauty. Not 'good for a beginner' or 'OK considering the price point' or 'will do for a back up' or 'good as a start point for a mod' or 'might be OK once I replace every working part of it'.
No. It's just great, straight out of the box, no qualification, no prevarication. It's beautifully finished, plays like a dream balances and sounds like a a P Bass.
42mm at the nut, no sharp edges, no dead spots, beautiful 3ply tort plate, no buzzing, no blemishes.
And a laughable price tag.
*sigh* in love again. Happens all the time.
Looks a beaut

Time will tell with Vinyl. Personally I suspect it will prove to be a fairly brief resurgence based on nostalgia. In every technical respect digital is superior. The reason many people prefer vinyl is that the production techniques and aims were different in those days. If you digitally record and compress as is the modern trend then Vinyl would have no advantages (IMHO), other than the sleeve size.
Certainly older vintage stuff sounds way better on Vinyl than rather than the CD transfers New recorded music yes digital sound better in the car on headphones, but even new stuff i get on vinyl now, even with a fairly basic hifi turntable and speakers sounds great its the whole experience of vinyl (yes and some nostalgia) for me. Lots of younger folk who did not grow up listening to vinyl are buying back into the experience.
With regards proper amps Tube amps, they will stay around and have their place, but its great for beginners hobbyists pub band musicians to just have to carry a small powered stage speaker and DI box/Profiler box and off you go.

Just ordered a Tech21 Deuce deluxe, sold my Marshall guitar amp, and if this fits the bill selling my bass amp, will just use Deuce deluxe helix stomp, and have a pre amp as back up. Hope it does the job.

Tech21 Power Engine Deuce Deluxe
This sounds good, looks like you can just plug into top with std jack as well if your preamp/modeller fails, have you tried it with bass just plugged into it, will it suffice do a job as an emergency straight up amp.

I found this for anyone else who might be interested in the miniONE.
http://www.karlclews.com/blog/gear-part-10-gr-bass-mini-one
In summary "...the Mini One performed admirably on the gigs. As a class D head, it’s fine to run it without a cab, so as planned, I simply plugged it directly into the PA. Since then, I’ve used it on a number of local gigs, driving my Epifani UL 410, and the 350 watts it puts out are plenty for most gigs - anything where you need more than 350 watts, you would tend to be putting the bass through the PA in any case. The sound of the Mini One is beautifully transparent - it doesn’t appear to colour the inherent tone of my basses at all, which is exactly how I like my amps to work! In comparison with the Genz Benz Shuttles, the bottom end of the Mini One feels more focused, and the mids are very punchy, so slap and more percussive fingerstyle cut through the mix very well. And the top end is nice and airy, and you really have to dial it way up before it starts to get harsh and brittle. All in all, it’s a fantastic little amp, and the tight, focused bottom end and distinctively punchy mids make it sound much, much bigger than its tiny size and 350 watts..."
Its looks like a boutique amp from a small independent amp maker, rather than a cheap far east knock off, some well renowned Companies start off this way, take a punt and give it a review on here.

Best thing is To try one out at one of the uk dealers. If it sounds good to you and has featured you want, thats all that matters.

There are more options on the GR Bass miniONE compared with the Trace Elliott Elf. I would probably say the miniONE is closer in comparison with an Aguilar TH350 from a specification perspective?

The Galien Kruger mini amp (name escapes me) is a similar comparison.
for that price though arguably better name brands on the market, but sometimes that does not mean better. Still think it's more like the Elf

Looks a decent unit, but it does look like a TC Elf copy don't know what price they are going for

Bit the bullet, mine should arrive tomorrow, unsure whether to get this or the future shock, but this seems a better unit and easier for just using on the fly. The future shock has some very good presets but reckon only about 12-20 would ever rally get used. Plus its like £100 more.

I will be replacing the DR hi beams on a bass with a new set back of Newtone Round core steels, so should be easy to make a straight comparison, with regards feel and tension. Different of course but the two hex core sets I have are not overly tense but they both feel really smooth not harsh like Rotos or Dunlop super brights.

That’s what I use a lot of the time instead of an Amp sim. It’s the BDDI so designed to do the same job. I used to have it as always on in my HFX as well.
I cant say I noticed it being quoted though, unless you are running it without the drive on. Seems to match the real thing which I also have.Try the mic tube preamp in the mic section of the pre amps, you get a lovely fat harmonics boost with this betweeen 3-5 and nice and clean and 6-8 lovely tubey grit, it als has bass treble cut if you require it, it's worked brilliantly as a simple pre amp. I use it as a base along with a little eq from a Cali eq block and a compressor, use on its own clean or a selection of light drive and overdrive blocks, this fattens the sound. Really really good block.

Just remember with the round cores you need to bend them before cutting them to length.
Always use a set if pliers and give the string a firm squeeze then bend on all my strings, reason people get a dead string us they just cut them iff without a firm bend/squeeze.

I gad a Spector A few tears ago Ns2000 or legend, bolt on neck, wasnt too impressed, it felt too rattle’y and thin but muddy sounding at the same time, no warmth or real sustain. But it had a bit loose machine heads that i could not get tighter and not sure the bolts on the neck where up to much.
Heard the Neck through are a different kettle of fish along with the Aquilar pick ups. Hope this blows my mind and lives up to the Spector hype. Should be here Thursday.
