I also liked the Xotic BB Bass emulation on my Zoom. I used it for a while in my live setup.  Have you seen this comparison video?

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CbENF9j10iA

no i will check it out, i sold my Zoom, it is cheaper to buy a new Zoom than a xotic, but trouble with the zoom is it does not play well with other pedals, it the zoom on its own or nothing, thats how i found it. and no true by pass so you have to have the zoom in your chain the whole time, but we digress.

  2. I would love a BB bass preamp really love the sound on my Zoom pedal but they are £200 for what is basically a distortion pedal, all be it a very good one, think its a bit trade description calling it a pre amp, it has no blend no di no mid switch just a pedal with bass and treble, still very good but would expect moor for £200

Do we actually know if it has a DI or not considering we have not seen any proper pictures, videos or reviews.

Its a guess based on its form factor.

on the photo does not show a di,  or its well hidden, think it is a pedal pure and simple, no reason why cannot run out through a flat di though, but as others said there already is a rack mount geddy preamp.

  4. betty swollocks, just bought a Tech21 Vt as well, probably would have bought this instead, but the VT as a di and this does not.

slightly of subject anybody got settings for a geddy tone on a VT.

    Another couple of questions:

Does it have the classic curved body and would you be willing to ship to Scotland?

Oh why don't they do that colour for the 2405 - I would totally get that one. The 2405 is more like the tizer one, and I prefer the purple.

They make such good looking bass's with outrageous but still pleasant on the eye colours, I know aesthetics such not influence what bass you buy, but Ibanez back it up at this price range.

  8. It's posts like these that make made me feel i was seriously missing out in not having a P bass, so i got one, and its OK it sounds pretty good but it has that one sound and not much else. prefer my Jazz and My new Ibby. would i  miss it if i did not have it? i play it because its there, but its not my go to bass. Could sell it but its a Noir limited edition with upgraded Emg geezors so think it will mature in price if i hold on to it.

I love these basses. I nearly bought one but ultimately they're just a bit too slim and sleek for my tastes. Stunning tone though, especially that front pickup with a bit of grit.

I alos thought of chocolate limes when I first saw one.

maybe next year they will do a Black current and liquorice flavour, or a rhubarb and custard

How do these look in the flesh? I’ve looked at a few pictures and the green seems to vary from bright green to a duller darker green - could be they change a fair bit with ambient lighting? Also considering the natural flat SR1300.

Look like a warm green,  better in natural l light, not that we get much natural light this time of year, I'll take a few more pics.

I keep looking at these on PMT. but they never have any in stock at the Brum one. I may have to make more of an effort to find one.

Andertons, £849 was £899 got 2 left now,  there usally like £1100 plus. Couldn’t help myself.

  12. Plays as good as it looks, first Ibby tried a few cheaper ones in past  and they felt a bit lightweight and a bit like, for want of a better word toys, tried the natural coloured one in Gear4 in york and thought having this, but had to be the Mojito which looks a bit like a chocolate lime sweet. Been playing on it since i got home.

  13. Compression is a funny thing, i never really understood fully or worked out what it did, tried a few compressors and patches on my Zoom. But then i got a seymore duncan studio bass compressor and its set at around 10 o clock, attack and blend about same, volume/level to suit, and it works great, just rounds off and emphasizes the individual notes a little better.

Funny thing is i was playing the other day and some thing was not quite right, though i was i little out of tune or there was some drop in sound thought maybe a connector jack was loose, then i realized the compressor was not on, turned it on every thing fine. Think its one of those things once you get it set up right for what you want you do not notice it until its not on.
