  1. Grestch 250th anniversary special.

Teated myself to a new 6 string, now i’m not much of a guitar player but i enjoy a Jam/fiddle around, but as my old Epiphone les Paul std as a few iffy parts that need replacing, saw this and thought take the plunge.

Leigh Gorman was only in the Band for one month, after Dirk Wears White Sox and before Kings of the Wild Frontier and never recorded with them.

Dirk Wears White Sox is a superb album but the original bass player was Andy Warren. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Would-Be-Goods

Adam was of course a Bass player, if any if you get chance listen to the demos in remastered KOTWF and Prince Charming, Just Adam in Bass and Marco in guitar with drum machine.
as Huge as Adam (and the Ants) were at the time I think they are now underrated, maybe because They (Adam and Marco) went too Pop oriented and once the zeitgeist had gone were not taken seriously.

The Electro Harmonix Battalion is missing from the list.

I've just gone through a similar search and have found a second hand one. Waiting on it to come in the mail.

    Another good starter preamp

There’s also a Two Notes Le Bass for sale currently. There’s nearly always someone selling a Preamp/DI box here

Highly recommended, Real Tube two channels A clean B drive. In Parallel  cold fusion hot fusion A drives B, gives you 4 sound options in the same setting. Been recently superseded by the Revolt but still some new out there and second hand

    1. Easy to change around. I move the bass that side whenever possible. Personal preference.

    2. Have you tried a new battery?

I sold kev the bass, i told him about the battery which he has done which as fixed the volume problem, but he still says he is getting some line noise, told him to switch amp to active aa the Aquilar pre amp us powerful, but his amp inly as a passive input. I gad no issues with any nouse on the bass running into Helix stomp into Le bass pre amp into powered cab, i’m sure its a line input issue. Bought the bass from Andertons which is not too far for him so suggested he take it there and explain the problem and try it on a different amp.
but it would be helpful if anyone on here can suggest what the noise issue is.

  6. Might have yo get this, I’ve got the LeBass and its my main preamp, amp in a box pedal. The channel 1 clean channel is superb, i bought it for the dirt channel but hardly use that, although it is great, like it clean or on Hot fusion with a bit of grit from channel 2

this looks like it expands on that.

  7. I’m fancying this. Mainly as Helix seem to pretty much stoped doing any Bass specific updates, seems like much more bass stuff on Boss model. Very tempted.

But just finally booked a holiday.

For anybody that is interested in how these basses sound Anderton's has compared them. Here's the link .

I quite like the Saint model and The Arc model. Very tempting indeed!

I’m really digging the Saint, serious Gas, yes they are nir original design or reinventing the wheel but they sound great, quality components and Ashdowns own custom Pick ups.

All great advice as usual .
Could I ask what model no your  Denon is ? We may be able to get pic of rear on  richer sounds website , just to make sure everything is connected as it should  be . Some turntables used to have an earth wire iirc, which had to be screwed in  the back of the amp . A pre amp should sort .

Thick speaker cable ( 79 strand ) is not too expensive , and you'd hear a lot more bass and definition .
Also in the future  funds permitting, when the stylus is worn out a change of cartridge would work wonders . But that's a while yet .

    Enjoy your new system 😼👍

Denon D-M41DAB  Aux in no ground

Turntable, which as a built in preamp which has a ground connector, but not used this as now hum or anything   https://www.audio-technica.com/en-gb/turntables/best-for/step-up-models/at-lp120xusb

In that case, slojo's correct and the preamp is built into your turntable. You will need to connect the phono out (which is the non-boosted signal) on the turntable to a phono preamp and from there into your amp. Take the turntable to the shop so you can compare them.

Shop still shut due to covid collection only, but they are really helpfull and have a good returns policy.

I just had a version of the same issue, upgrading my hifi from 35 year old student to the 21st Century.  My ancient turntable is still relatively good, with a Linn arm on it, but a modern all singing all dancing amp required a pre-amp for the turntable.  I got the Rega one, which sounds fantastic.  I think vinyl sounds much better than CDs, although posh streaming sounds pretty good too.

Its a made field (lol) if you are out of the game for a bit, I know my bass rig, amp, power amp/powered cab modeller preamp set up better than just plugging in a turntable to a hifi.

Loving the new rig though, better than my old turntable into my old Philips Hifi.

A pleasure. Try to take your amp along to compare the inbuilt pre' with whatever the shop suggests. You may find there isn't a great improvement unless you spend a bit. Denon stuff is pretty decent for the money.

cheers, yes the Denon is good, the sound thing is only really a problem when switching from turntable to anything else you forget to drop the volume and boom, going to try the Pro jet box, inexpensive and if it boosts by  just 25-30% that should bring it more in line don't think i will get a full unity gain without spending £000's and for a £300 hifi and £200 turntable would be silly money.

Yes, there’s a choice of line level or straight from the cartridge.

its set at Line, at Phono sound almost non existent.
