  1. Time of the year I think, folk are trying to squeeze the last out of the summer and with the upturn in the weather, this effect is amplified. September onwards will hopefully see a return to better turnouts.
  2. I’ve used EBS chs and 8ve pedals with fretless for decades, never found them wanting.
  3. Children of the Grave - Sabbath
  4. Jump up and down, whilst shouting, “RESULT!”
  5. You are correct, Sir. An area of overlap does the trick, it did for me at least.
  6. A good connection with the control plate will work.
  7. Making sure it’s connected to earth is key.
  8. A proper bit of shielding and they’re as silent as the grave. I should say, any shielding, as, other than the control plate, there isn’t any at all, which is poor.
  9. Less Than Zero - Elvis Costello
  10. Toothpicks FTW here. If you break/cut it and insert the wider end in first, you compensate for the screw taper. If it’s very loose, then 2 may be required.
  11. They are insidious wee things, I reckon they're laced with crack or heroin in the nitro. My poor old custom basses don't get a look in and I find myself wondering about selling them .
  12. Try playing with the upper ‘corners’ rather than the point. This is how I use my picks on bass, I also use a .73 (good enough for Bobby Vega).
  13. It sounds HUGE! Impressive build skills there, Sir. 👏👏👏
  14. I remember playing a Vintera P at a show when they were first released, I was very impressed, especially with the neck, a V profile IIRC. The Vintera Mustang is good too. It seems that the top flight MiM (Vinteras and signatures) instruments are extremely good. I haven’t seen any Vinteras recently, supply seems to be poor. Black PG? Oh yes!
  15. Prepare to want one for yourself.
  16. I don’t know about drop ins, but I’d take the opportunity to fit lightweight ones and plug the holes.
  17. No need to justify the extra string when a bass looks that badass.
  18. From something Keef said, it’ll certainly have stuff with Charlie on it, “You’ve not heard the last of Charlie Watts,” or words to that effect. Personally, although not a massive Stones fan, I’d love to hear what the rhythm section of Jones and Jordan might bring to the party.
  19. The marvellous and sadly departed, John Giblin on the bass guitar there. Joan is such a talented songwriter and multi instrumentalist, I don't think a lot of folk realise how much.
  20. A Sassafrass T shirt? Good man!
  21. Bad Dog, No Biscuit - Daron Norwood
  22. Because of the string through body on the JMJ, long or medium scales are the way to go.
  23. I’m stealing that! 🤣
