1. I like the look of some of these. Niice I'm glad there is something there in the budget line, with better options for the beginner i think only good things can come of that
2. Maybe now i'm doubting myself now lol. The line came from him complaining that no one uses his basslines in remixed music as he puts in so much effort. So Hybrid being the nice dudes they are had a go........ I'm trying to work this out but struggling at the mo lol
3. Hi this is a long shot as it's driving me bonkers. I love a band called Hybrid (Progressive Breaks) who did an album called "Morning Sci-fi" which featured Peter Hooks Bass playing. Anyway on a track called "True to Form" Hybrid live He plays a bass line that i absolutley love (the Peter Hook Line comes in at 3:23) if you want to have a look. Now i'm pretty sure this is a New Order Bass line as i recognise it, but i'm going mad as to what the line is from origionally. I love the peice but & i keep checking out all the various forums but cant find where it's from origionally. Can someone who is vastly more cleverer than me help? If so i will remote praise you from where i am.
4. How would anyone know they were the first......what is normal if they were the first to procreate
5. THats stunning I want one now....i bet these things cost a fortune
6. I think if i was religious the Abundant life idea would be where i would go.
7. I totally agree with most of this thread. But the style of this music & the attitude that if you are not religious you are not "Good" is beyond me. i never enter a church or worship but i'm a nice person & go out of my way to help others. just because i dont go to church that does'nt give anyone the right religious or not to judge me......i remember theres something about casting stones in the big book i once heard someone quote to me. Now thats my views on religion, basic but i see the world as a big place & it's got plenty of room for everyone. Now for the music: If someone wrote a song about his girlfriend & went on for another 12 more songs & all of them basically said "I love my girlfriend, she's lovley & i love her" things would get pretty dull after a while. this is what i really dont get about religious songs. they all say very simular things. What i find almost comical is in Leeds theres "Peoples FM" its a raggae radio station, i usually listen to it just for a change & they are constantly singing about God, Jesus & Jah. It's the most relgious thing i have ever heard. I find religion very confusing & i find it strange that there is a specific kind of music for religious people. But then again i find the world very confusing at times
8. Paul Weller in Manchester (Not sure when it is yet....sometime in November) I was going to see Japanese fighting fish next week but cant afford it as i'm brassic at the mo.....gutted
9. I'd talk to them & come to an agreement. Tell them the situation & say your more than happy to give it a month, if like you say they are decent guys then it should'nt be a problem.
10. +1 on the above the suits look really good
11. THe one on Wyther lane in Armley looks ok
12. The only ones i know are Armley & the town centre. Sponge has been demolished now ......i think
13. I should join then i have no friends
14. Maaaan i'm excited for ya now. I wish i could even consider to afford one of these bad boys.
15. i have seen a recording of this kind of music. But hand on heart it the religious side of things that makes me want to stay away. I know that sounds harsh but i just cant get into religion, but i do appreciate what the church does for people (If that makes sence). The recording i saw i was really impressed with the level of musicianship. but being honest i just could'nt get my head round the religious side of things.
16. I wanted desperatley to play an instrument & create something with music, all the time i was a kid, i always wanted to play sax but would never afford one in my life time. So when i got my first proper job at 17 i bought a guitar & instantley started having lessons but after a while i just could'nt get into it (was never that good or enthusiastic), I always loved hearing Bass on it's own & always had a respect for Bass as a stand alone instrument but never even thought about playing one, then a friend lent me a 3/4 bass just to mess about on & i instantley felt comfortable & at home on Bass. My dream is to learn upright because when i hear one i just become transfixed. But i need really to get back on the horse & re-learn what i've tried to forget lol.
17. I'm a nice & pleasant sort but i am not too nice with people like that.....i just dont have the patience for people who expect things.....grrrr Brings out the worse in me
18. Well said Can we have that letter in downloadable format & leave spaces to fill in as appropriate? Thats a re-usable one
19. Back when i was at it full tilt & was in bands, Covers were a natural way of getting stuck straight in. It's great to see a band live but if they just play their own material it can get a little lost, i always found a mix of own material & covers works better bacuase a crowd can at least get a gague of what your doing. That always worked for me anyway.
20. Yep tbh there is so many execptions to the rules that it simply is daft to discount music for it's genere. I know a lad who calls all dance music "Monotous bleepin sh*te" but i forced hi to listen to "Morning Sci-fi" by Hybrid & now he's hooked on anything by Hybrid. the Peter Hook style Bass lines, the work with classical music & the depth of the production these guys use has got him addicted. He still thinks dance music is crap. but there are too many exceptions to discount without giving it a try.
21. I went to that gig. She was from Doncaster by the way & it was JPS
