1. With the flame maple and the round headstock, I'm wondering if it's a Shine Hofner copy. But on looking close, the headstock has an even bigger round bit at the end. http://images5.thoma...prod/177012.jpg (Picture is of a Harley Benton, but I can't find a good picture of the Shine and I think it's identical to the HB). That very round headstock on the ebay one is typical of no-brand Chinese made basses.
2. I've heard a lot of good things about the Aria STB range. It also seems that many people here know where to get themselves a cheap knockabout bass.
3.
Look for content from BC member douggie. There's only one thread [s]this[/s] last year.
Yeah, I found it. Thanks.
4. Yet another price which a seller appears to have found by inspecting their own posterior. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/Bass-/4713/i.html?LH_PrefLoc=1&_sop=10
5. http://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_playboy_collectors_pack_no_7.htm Are there really people likely to buy such a collection for such a price?
6. Didn't they have a range of instruments made for them by Fujigen in Japan? That they then decided to sell under the 'Signature' brand, rather than call them Tanglewoods? If that's correct, then perhaps they've been planning to move upmarket for a while.
7.
I'm reminded of the cretinous outpourings of the critics when Guy Pratt was pleasant enough to introduce himself on here a little while back.
Link?
8. Seems a reasonable deal for someone in Worcestershire. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Westfield-Bass-Guitar-/171206523934?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item27dcb43c1e
9.
Lol, I knew this would end up on here! This is mine, and yes it is for sale... Needs must, and this must be set loose into the world beyond my living room.
I hope you get far more for it than my current stupidly low bid.
10. I've seen nothing in the reviews that would suggest to me that the 'Chibson's are any better than, say, a Vintage V100 LP replica that can be bought second hand on ebay for about £100 or so.
11. This seller has this negative feedback.
Poor service any problems thay dont want to be bothered item never come Buyer: 7***7 ( 283) 19-Aug-13 09:27 <a href="http://feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&ftab=AllFeedback&userid=pinemartyn&iid=390735685217&de=off&page=1&items=25&interval=180&which=negative&convFdkId=842818748012&convShow=true#842818748012">

Reply by pinemartyn (19-Aug-13 17:22): Dishonest. I have Certificate of Posting but u declined? Extortioner. Blocked!

Some people just shouldn't be on ebay.
12. The Ibanez SR760 seems to be an example of a 90s MIJ that sells for less than I would have expected. But, I haven't played one, and I don't know what the quality is. They're reputed to be made by Fujigen, so I'd expect first rate quality.
13.
I have one of these but in the amber type of colour. Fabulous bass but always seem to sell at bargain prices when used.
A number of Yamahas seem to have poor resale values making them bargains. RBX374s going for considerably less than £100 etc. What would you say is the going market price for one in the same condition as this one?
14. I'm not sure how much these are worth, but post in case this is a bargain. Aren't the TRB 4II's made in Japan and much more expensive than this when they were new? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yamaha-TRB-II-4-string-bass-guitar-/221344929857?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item33892f9841
15. This used to be a pink bass that has been hand painted. Personally I am pleased to see this. If you have a cheap *ss bass guitar, why not do something interesting to it? Green glitter paint with hand-carved spider? Others may not approve, but I do http://www.ebay.co.u...=item3cda7acbfe
16. A more modern than most Columbus. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=321285450491&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:GB:3160
17. Yamaha BB1200 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yamaha-BB1200-Bass-Guitar-/321284942605?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item4ace132b0d <fast show Jazz guy voice>Nice!</fast show Jazz guy voice>
18.
There's a Michael Manring one which is absolutely amazing, I got it from a gig, it used too be available from his website.
It's available from CD Baby in the USA, but from nowhere else I've been able to find. Yet.
19. Is there an available DVD/Blu-ray of a bass player playing a solo concert? I mean someone like Steve Lawson or Jean Baudin. And, performance rather than instruction. There's Victor Wooten's "Live at Bass Day 1998", but that seems to contain cover versions. Which are nice (according to youtube), but I'd prefer something with original music. Michael Manring has done some interesting things on youtube, but I couldn't find a DVD. And to be honest in what I saw, he overdoes the detuning strings thing a bit much for my taste. Loopers, synths, avante-guarde collaborators all fine, as long as the bass is still stage central.
20. Thanks. I fully believe you all that it's a flat neck, but my eyes are still telling my brain that it's twisted. It really is a convincing optical illusion
21. Local to me, and kindof interesting. But, I'm not going to do anything about it, as I think it's overpriced. http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/vintage-satellite-fretless-bass-guitar-nr-mint-orig-bag-130-villex-vp-pickups/1042860074
22. Why does this bass have such a pronounced twist in its neck? Clearly it's deliberate, and I presume it aids fingering, but is there more to it or could someone please explain exactly what the advantage is? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRm--axzsUw
23. I've just offered 250 virtual 'coins', which is well above average for a question, to anyone who can tell me which factory my Cimar bass was made in.
24. This also looks like a lot of MusicMan-ish bass for the money. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/331089337025?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649
25. I'd held off on the Yahoo Japan Questions answering thing after I found myself offering Japanese teenagers advice on their love lives.
