  1. Any interest in shipping this cab overseas?
  2. I don't know how many times ive said to myself. "If I just get this one piece of gear I'll be happy and my GAS permanently sated"
  3. I love bass gear also but I have very limited space to store it all in, so I've had to adopt a strict 'gear in, gear out' policy. It makes for very very hard decisions.
  4. Hi Dood, saw your review on the Ashdown CTM-100 and it was the final straw for me GAS wise. I DO NOT REGRET THAT PURCHASE!!.
  5. I bought a cheapo Bugera BVV3000, All valve 300W head once and it sounded fantastic. It weighed a ton and was a bit impractical. It would have been a great amp to leave in a rehearsal room. For all the badmouthing Bugera get I honestly could not fault that amp. The Little Bastard was the best sounding amp I ever owned.
  6. My Stingray was a real work horse of a bass, had it for 11+ years. But it was becoming less and less my go-to bass. I came to prefer more passive sounding P and J type basses and I grew tired of its tone and weight. Whenever I hear Fugazi I get a little sad though.
  7. Trace Elliot SMC7215, Warwick Corvette Fretless (German), Musicman Stingray, Fender Jazz (Jap), Ashdown Little Bastard, 1976 Rickenbacker 4001 ...There are among the items I regret selling. Why do we but these and why do we sell them (and what do we regret selling them). Whats your item(s) that you wish you had back.
  8. this is all I can find https://en.audiofanzine.com/bass-guitar-speaker/hughes-kettner/bc-118/
  9. Forgetting that the last time you packed up your gear you were drunk and now it's a big spaghetti mess of leads inside a flight case.
  10. Like using lidl shopping bags to transport leads.
  11. Hanging onto faulty components when they should have been thrown out long ago (By the way I'm going to get a soldering iron out and repair everything) . Like jack leads, XLR leads, Floppy mike stands, faulty guitar tuners, faulty patch leads, I could go on and on. Then having to sift through all these parts during stage set up.
  12. Can a 4 ohm cab be converted to an 8 ohm cab without replacing the drivers ?
  13. The best guitarists I've played with have been gentlemen.
  14. I've been in a band with a few mediocre guitarists with notions. Luckily I've played with good drummers and I just pounded out the bass until the guitarists got his stinky poo together between making mistakes etc. As the end of the gig we usually got praised etc with the guitarists beaming. For all its complexity its an instrument that you can get away with. I find whenever I slip up on bass its REALLY noticable.
  15. Hi Folks. I'm seeing this cab for sale, brand new for peanuts. 18" cab on paper it should sound unreal....shouldn't it? I cant find any specs on this apart from the fact that its a 400W 8ohm cab...oh and it comes in at 40kg....ouch. Just wondering if anyone out there has any experience with this cabinet. Cheers
  16. I have one 4 ohm cab. can I use an 8 ohm cab on the other jack?
  17. I have a question regarding my Trace Elliot AH500. on the back there are 2 outputs, a speakon and a 1/4" jack. The impedance information merely reads 'minimum load 4 ohms' can I use 2 outputs into 2 separate 4 ohm cabs or do I now need to use use 2 * 8 ohm cabs (or does it matter) ?
  18. Or Joint...
  19. Lead Singer / Acoustic guitarist turns up to open air gig and plays gig with guitar out of tune and doesn't notice, sound man ended up killing his guitar, down to one guitarist to play lead / rhythm. Tells us afterwards he tuned his guitar at home, thought it would be OK....doesn't have a shell case just uses a gigbag.
  20. Not amazingly well. But the BL just puts that down to ignorance of the audience than poor selection of cover songs.
  21. Playing covers that nobodys heard of but are the BLs favourite songs.
  22. Our band uses messenger all the time to organise stuff. Works very well. One band member in a previous band had a 'problem' with Facebook . Made things a bit awkward.
  23. Having to organise rehearsal and gigs around the gig schedule of Johnny -ten-bands drummer
  24. People using band rehearsal to learn the songs
  25. Or not knowing how to use their guitar. Playing rhythm and lead using the same pick up - volume settings . Not knowing how to use their pedals etc.
