Am not a big fan of mixing cabs even of the same make but the EBS Neo212 is a killer cab and super light. If super light is not a requirement Jake Tenfloors is selling a Proline 410 really cheap.

Speakers and power - explain this bit....

Not again! We need a smiley for yawn! -
wasnt that the time when they first shipped manafacture to china?think you will find they have sorted out those problems now.
That was some of it and Ampeg suffered from that as well. But I have seen a few people that got the Superfly when Sound Control were knocking them out cheap have had problems. sh*t sticks !
Yeah the website is kinda inappropriate here and there(very '70s), but maybe in Germany it's OK. Gerald who runs the company is a real nice guy. I'm surprised the strap hasn't caught on more, no magazine reviews I guess.
Well they are very expensive and apart from the OP I have never heard of anyone stretching straps cos threaded straps will not move. The huge range of adjustability looks good as well, so as you get fatter and older the strap can get longer. I found one of my old straps from when I was young, slim and had my bass tucked under my chin, I struggled to get the bass on

Lightweight 1x12 standalone cab with attitude!
bass_ferret replied to Herr Fixxxer's topic in Amps and Cabs
The OP wanted views on cabs so we may be drifting off topic with combos. My old EBS HD350 was a completely different beast through the Neo112 and the Neo212. The Neo112 is good but there are limits to what you can get from 1 speaker in a small cab. Never found the limit of the Neo212 - my ears gave up long before the cab did. -
Bernie is taking my babies so say hi to them

Cool. What other 1x12 cabs have you tried? -
I'd laugh so much if they laid waste to the MarkBass given that everyone here is saying they'll blow up depsite the fact they've never seen one nevermind played through one
I think the idea that they will blow up is born of the experience of Ashdowns blown up as regularly told on these pages.
I see you are in Brighton, I may be down there in a few weeks or so to see Bernie at GB so shouldn't be a problem to bring the Nordy possibly. Will keep you updated. Steve
Make sure you leave your cheque book at home

Advice on what cab to get for the sound I'm after
bass_ferret replied to colinmk's topic in Amps and Cabs
Well after looking at the UK price for an NV610 - £1100+!!!!! I can safely say I won't be getting one. I'm now thinking of getting an SVT 410he for the time being and saving my pennies for an orange 1x15 or SVT 1x15 to eventually pair with it. What do you guys reckon to them apples?
Not a big fan of mixing cabs and even less of a fan of mixing cabs from different makes. If you want the Berg then Mark at Bass Direct may well be able to sort you out an ex-dem for a lot lot less than £1100. Its worth an ask. I rate the SVT410HLF - heard it sounding great. Not exactly what you would call light mind. -
I would say I'll have the blond but she dont look happy.

The Ox Igor Jimmy Blanton - upright player with Duke Ellington. He started it all!
The sound on Live at Leeds was pretty special, too (amazing considering the pissy sounds everyone else was getting at the time) and that was just a Precision and a wall of Hiwatts.
+999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 999 Well you get the idea. If you get the double CD with the full gig, even his tuning up sounds great!
higher frequencys generally come through alot louder anyways so it balances out
With all due respect; bollocks! Even more bollocks when you have permenant hearing damage because the first thing you lose is the high frequency.

There will come a day Ped when you will get fed up with wiping peoples arses for them. And talking of bassworld; I wonder if thats what happened to Gerard.

In case you have not noticed - we seem to be having a private argument. Conclusion: nobody gives a f*** what Taka Hirose plays. If you had googled what I did, found it was "With Combat (the Tokyo guitar workshop) he also had them make several other basses of his own design. One he describes as "a Spector meets Prince's guitar", another a Rickenbacker meets Prince's guitar...", you could have googled "combat tokyo guitar workshop" and maybe found out more about the bass. Then you could have posted something like: I saw Taka Hirose play this really cool Combat (tokyo guitar workshop) bass the other night. links...........Anyone know any more about these cool basses. Just an idea.

Sorry if I come across as a grumpy old man but I am a grumpy old man and this subject makes me even more grumpy. The reason I am so grumpy is cos I cant remember the last time I had a good nights sleep. And I cant get a good nights sleep cos of the f***ing ringing in my f***ing ears. Like a lot of us, I have ended up with ER25's. The difference between the moulded plugs and foam plugs or ER20's is night and day. The ER's are designed for musicians but I will be the first to admit that £165 is a lot of dosh, so the prospect of getting something as good for a lot less is very tempting. But i've not seen anyone say I have tried ER's and brand X and brand X are as good for half the price. What I have seen is I use these shooting plugs and they are great! So you pony up your £80 and all you can hear is bass. Great. So now your ER25's will cost you £245, or you wont bother and f*** your ears.

I still say a threaded strap; like what I posted a link to; wont slip. It might stretch but it wont slip. Still waiting to find out if the OP is playing 3 hour sets or doing 3 hours of extreme neck bending in the comfort of his bedroom. If the latter he should go to the gym instead

There is a lot of info in the basschat wiki. Have a read.

All this pigeonholing is crap. Lots of players in lots of genres use lots of different basses. Some Warwick models do shout metal. So do ESP, BC Rich and lots of other makes. Hell, some metal players use Zons!
