hey man i had an a6 and it was gorgeous the only trouble was the neck was a tad bent, and the brigde was a nghtmare. the new a6s are fitted with a better brigde, i just bought a a4 off ebay so ill let you know how it plays friday. the cort i had was well balanced and gorgeous looking. the balnce was better than my thumb six. i sold it and the geezer was well chuffed with t as he srted the neck out watch this thread!!!
Thanks for the info guys.
 2. Hi, have any of you guys had any experience with playing a Cort A6 Artisan model. What I want to know is if they are bona fide high quality basses or just 'good for the money'. Can they live with high end 6'ers.? Your thoughts gentlemen please
 3.
You just beat me to it! Wals are untouchable for fretless but way overpriced right now - if I was shopping in that price range it'd have to be a Pedulla. Fenders can be lovely but IMO need either an ebony board conversion or a coated board - a really hard board and ultra-low profile nut (phnaar!) are crucial for sustain and a nice articulate sound.
Hmm.never thought of a pedulla...or even heard one to be honest. But the ones I've seen seem very pricey. The Ibanez looks interesting though.
 4. I have heard that they sound very good..it it true? Would you recommend them? Thanks Raj
 5.
Got a point.... good enough for Jaco... good enough for... ...anyway, what's your budget?
Yeah I know that fretless tone is "in the fingers"..but if it were as simple as that then we would all be playing planks wouldn't we?..as it would make no difference 'cos "it's in the fingers man" However my budget is £6-700 for a secondhand one.
 6. Hi , I am looking for a fretless. I want more sustain than you could shake a stick at, a really good growl/mwaah when played using the bridge pick up..and sings like pavarotti. I especially like Kai Ekhardt's sound,he seems to get the bass to sing and growl at the same time..and with bags of sustain. I've heard good things abopout Modulus..but will they do what I am asking..or is the tone from these completely different. I am looking for a 4/5 string. Can anyone come with some suggestions that won 't break the bank? Raj
 7. Hi Mike, I'm still after a 6..so just as a matter of interest do you have a ball park figure of how much you would be asking for the Esh of yours. Sorry about the Iturra...just couldn't bear to part with it in the end SORRY!!!! Regards Raj
 8.
oh lawd thats hot...
Can you really blame me for wanting it ..I nearly freaked out when I first saw it!!!
 9. Hi. Imported this bass a few weeks back. Just had it set up,and a brand new set of coated DR (peacock blue) strings put on. Specs/pics can be viewed by following the link. A really nice bass that looks fab...but I want a 6. Anyone up for a trade. I like handmade basses...especially anything out of the ordinary,or even a modulus 6, or.....maybe a...or a...you get the idea. I am based in Slough (berks) http://www.mygear.com/items/view/14465
 10. Hi, I've just recently acquired a few basses, and have had some preamps fitted to 2 of them..very nice too .One is a John East , and the other is and EMG (BQ3 series). The trouble is I can't afford to go down this route for all of my basses...it would be too expensive. I've just bought a 3 band parametric Eq made by presonus..it connects like an ordinary pedal..is quite compact and has 3 overlapping bands (low/mid/high)...each with gain/freq /bandwidth control...it gives 12db boost or cut for each band...is really easy to use...and has a bypass button too.IMHO really worth checking out as it only costs £70-80 including power supply. The reviews are also very favourable. I plugged in one of my passive basses and I can now dial in a tone that I like . Amazon sell them at under £70!!..well worth checking out.
 11.
We have put a Propagandhi cover as a "secret" song on our album we give them credit but no money. If they tried to sue us as a Punk band it would be so bad for their reputation it wouldn't be worth it. Not really helping but it's Friday
The thing is .. as a small (just me) label I am only going to get 500-1000 pressed up...and if I'm honest it will take years to sell all of them IF i ever do..so it's pretty small potatoes.
 12.
If it's pretty much amateur then don't you just need to declare who wrote what?
It's going to be 'released' and I'm going to try and airplay and internet sales and maybe some distribution...but it's going to be on my own label.....What now ???
 13. hi, I am in the process of recording my next CD offering to the world and for the first time I am doing a tune (instrumental) based on 2 different tunes 'melded' together. Trouble is I don't know the procedure for 'declaring' that I am doing this, and also how to get permission from the relevant people. Can any body help out here?? Many Thanks
 14.
welcome! some nice gear you have there... maybe youll post in the alembic thread???
HA! I didn't realise there was an Alembic thgread...now that I do I will surely post.
 15.
Hello to a fellow Anniversary owner! Here's mine - number 61 ! Which number have you got and post some pics if you can! Cheers! Nick (the GAS man!)
Hi Nick, my one is number 64..I'm afraid I don't have a digital camera so I can't post a pic. My one is also walnut..but not quite as pretty as yours. It is my favourite bass and is pure quality ..as I'm sure you know. The only thing I find very weird ,is that mediocre precisons and jazzes from the 70's(not exactly a glorious decade for fender) now fetch more money than my Alembic when it was new,and in terms of build quality and "hi-fi ness there is absolutely no comparison...Go Figure!!
 16.
If you bought my Microbass ( http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=26040 ) then I could buy Chris's Equinox. Everyone would be happy. You knows it!
Thanks for the offer...but I've just found a 4 band digital parametric for only £99!!!
 17.
Hi there, Welcome to the forum. I have an equinox for sale at the moment. Great piece of kit and works brilliantly for double bass. Being desiged for piezo pickups it has a very high input impedence (3.9M ohm if I rember correctly) so should work fine with passive bass guitars but may not work properly with active ones. What instrument are you intending on using with it? Chris
Hi Chris, thanks for the reply. I have a variety of basses and was hoping to be able to use them all through the same unit...the idea being that it would be cheaper than getting a preamp installed in each of my basses ...which would cost a lot. Most of my basses are active.

 19. Hi. I am new to this forum..it looks very cool and informative. I am looking for a parametric Eq. I have seen a couple that are within my budget, but one in particular has caught my eye. It is the DTAR Equinox..it seems designed for acoustic guitars..is there any reason why it couldn't be used for bass? Does anyone actually use one already. The other ones I have seen are the Presonus EQ3B..3-band parametric, and a 5 band Behringer (non tube). Any input /advice would be brilliant..my budget will stretch to about 200 quid.
