1. What you're doing here is ending the bar on beat 4. but the measure doesn't there. you need to count the 'up on four instead of ending the bar on 4. the measure is still running! and if you continually say 'pigs' as 8th notes, they'll be 8 of them obviously and not 7. 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 = 7/8 so your 1 of the next bar would be 'up on 4, unless ur resting it. the whole bar is 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + = 8/8
2. Nothing wrong with that at all. Any amount of notes are valid over a measure, given they fit the tune played. so however you wanna slice the cake
3. Many opinions are born out of ignorance unfortunately. I suggest if any of you think PM is overrated, or he's not a great technician, you study his writing. His music has everything from classical arrangement to the blues, and everything in between. Subtle key changes that the melody weaves through beautifully, highly emotive melodies with brilliant words, and the fine art of making it all sound simple, wrapped up in a pop song. and more so, its all stood the test of time and moved millions of people.
4. When you fill a role/roles perfectly, you are a great. Ask yourself, If you were singing and playing bass in The Beatles, What would you have done differently to make the songs better?
5. I've never read anywhere that anyone thinks an upright sounds like a stingray!? they're two completely different instruments. But, can you listen to any record and know what bass is been played?
6. I have a 'Lazarus effect' on my pedal board. It really brings my sound back to life! 😁
7. I found the blessing helped with 'Dead spots'. YMMV 😁
8. Well MickyK, You need a.. 7 3/4 string with a body made from The One True Cross, a fretboard of pure Sonicperfectionwood, diamond strings with a wiring loom & pickups designed by Einstein with hardware made from metal melted down from the casing of the Manhattan Project atomic bomb. And then blessed by The Pope. It's the only way, Everyone knows this 😀 lol Sorry, couldn't resist.
9. In a word... No. Firstly how do you define "better gear" ? In my experience there is no such thing as "better gear" only different gear. Yes, You can play Top Trumps forever, but in reality it makes zero difference. Context is everything, and what matters most is YOUR ability to be musical and creative. It reminds me of the story about Dave Davies of the Kinks sat on a plane next to Jimi Hendrix, Hendrix said to Davies.. The sound he had on "You really got me" was a milestone, which really inspired Hendrix. Davies explained.. that sound was achieved by shredding a speaker cone with a razor blade. better gear? wonder what BFM would make of the specs lol. I've said it before, there are many people who cannot see past there chosen instrument into the realms of music and creativity, and no amount of gear can ever fix this. There will be always be someone with more ability than you, and who sounds better than you on 'cheaper gear'. its something you cannot buy folks!!!!

11. No worries When you quoted half a sentence out context, I thought you was a member of the shadow cabinet
12. Why quote half a sentence.. out of context ? haha
13. Years of cow poop marketing has everyone unconsciously brain washed. It feeds on insecurity, and says your life will be better if you get this, and the completeness you search for will be found with your next purchase. Sadly the truth is, people can't see beyond what they believe, and beyond their choosen instrument into the realms of music/creavtivity. They will never blame themselves for this, so they either blame the drummer :-) or their gear, (purchase time) then you play the same old stinky poo you always have, but with a new found persepective, this then slowly wears off and you find yourself blaming your gear again because you refuse to see the truth, (purchase time).. ad infinitum. The truth is, the thing you search for comes from within, and no amount of gear will change a damn thing. Your looking in the wrong places! I had an uncle who played a tea chest/broom handle in a skiffle group years ago, and he had more musicality than folk I've seen with £10k's worth of Fodera! I'm sure they'll be many who disagree because they've made their belief's sacrosanct, and the brain washing is too strong/complete. much like the folk who think they need compression. :-/ hahaha
14.
Didn't Ampeg realise that they could get a 4 ohm 8x10 by using 8 ohm drivers? It wouldn't be hard to sort out a custom wiring harness to make 4 x 2x10 at 8 ohms into an 8 ohm load.
Not sure why Ampeg use 32 ohm drivers to be honest. possibly spec differences or something! who knows, but that's what they did, and still do! And yea your right with the 8 ohm drivers, a combination of series /parallel wiring would indeed bring you down to 4 ohm. but most folk just wanna plug in and play and don't really wanna start re-wiring their cabs or building harnesses. Just had a quick peak at the Eminence Legend B810 which only comes as a 32 ohm driver! which possibly indicates that specs are pretty much unique to that particular driver! 15.
The Ampeg 810 is 4 x 210 enclosures in the same box. If you can find several of the older Classic range SVT 210HE cabs they will work the same.

The Ampeg 210 weighs about 60lbs. It was a sealed cab, as is the 810, and the only Ampeg cab I liked the sound of, and I had them all.
This info is incorrect for a few reasons. firstly the Classic SVT210HE is ported. http://www.ampeg.com/pdf/svt210he_svt15e.pdf The 210AV is sealed. and I think the PF210HE is sealed also. But the problem comes with each 2x10 been 8 ohm. thus stacking 4 takes you to a 2 ohm load. The 810 uses 32 ohm drivers so the 8x10 is 4 ohm! The only way to do it with multiple cabs would be two 8 ohm 4x10HE cabs which I believed are sealed and would do 4 ohms with two of them.
