7.
I have for sale a warwick thumb five thru neck (7 Laminates) bubinga and wenge. it was made in 1987 and was (I was told by the shop) one of the first to arrive in the uk. it has EMG pickups and everything you would expect from an instrument of that quality. It's been gigged extensively and recorded with (among others) Ike Willis of Frank Zappas band. The condition is good. I reckon it should be worth around £1200 but I'm open to offers if you're interested stick a reply up and I'll respond Jake
any pics t be posted?

 10.
I'll admit to being surprised at how good they were. It's a long time since I looked at nearfield stuff, and when I did previously they all sounded pretty ropey, making it difficult to take them seriously. Everyone used to rave about the Yamaha NS10s for example. Awful. Not so these ones. Kudos to Yamaha. Anyone remember Videotone Minimax speakers? They sounded truly dire but bizarrely still had something pleasant about their general character.
its not necessarily how good they are but its about what engineers are used too and can reference the sound from.... its a bit like using an SM58..... by todays standards its a crap sounding mic.... but its still 'the industry standard' so to speak as the FOH engineer knows exactly how its gonna sound.... same with the NS10.... not particularly good studio speakers but most studio's had them as they knew they could get a decent mix for most applications...
 11.
Aren't the iMacs the completly un-upgradable sealed affairs??? surely a G5 would be a better bet for recording? Our guitarist uses Logic 7.1, tis great from what i've seen! Si
Long gone are the days of having to upgrade internally...... USB 2 and Firewire have put that into perspective. I'm currently using a 20" Imac running Digital performer (Best Mac recording software as far as I'm concerned) with a couple of MOTU 828MK2's. Logic is good program too. New 20" Imacs are now £799.00 what a bargain!!!!!
il keep it short and simple Boss odb-3: great pedal imo, super overdrive, sound fantastic with the blend knob at bout 9 o clock and the gain at 12, great transparant distortion. near mint with box. £45 delivered. Red Onion Solutions dual loop switch pedal: Completly passive dual looper, with a passive volume pot on the first loop. Mint condition, although one of the leds doesnt work, but red onion solutions have said they will repair for free if it is important! £25 shipped, cant say fairer than that. EHX micro q-tron: awesomly funky envelope filter, as new hardly used, £45 shipped. EHX Sovtek Big Muff MODIFIED: This is the black big muff, which has been modified with 2 extra tone switches and a 9v power supply has been fitted. a great sounding distortion, very much more versitile than the usual, plus it has a bright blue led, always a plus! again, boxed and mint. £45 shipped Artec ADL-2 Analog Delay: Little known korean boutique pedal manufacturer has produced this completly analog delay pedal, with TRUE BYPASS! Super little pedal, has delay up to 440ms and is a completly analog circuit, and yes it oscillates in that weird and wonderful way! 19.
I have quite a complicated set-up and occasionally get electric shocks from anything in the set-up that is metal. I have a mixer in the centre, and attached are as follows: 1. Bass 2. iPod, in dock connected to separate mains supply 3. Laptop, connected to different mains supply and ethernet 4. FX pedal in FX loop of mixer 5. TV, with freeview, ipod, and n64 attached. The shocks usually occur when im in contact with two or more metal things attached to different parts of the set-up, i.e. bass strings and metal laptop. What should I do???
Thats some kind of set-up........ Is this for gigs????? or is it your bedroom?
 20.
Ah yes, that's more his income as a business owner (partner? I'm not sure what the business arrangements are). Pretty savvy in my opinion. If you consider them separately, I think what he earns from his craft itself is still pretty modest considering his very considerable expertise. If he's doing well, it's very much deserved. If you play as a trio, then £250-300 for the band will get you £80-100 each.
blow pubs and clubs...... corporate is where the money is.... My 5 piece outfit gets a minimum of £2k per gig....
 21. gotta be a status........ my back has improved loads since using an all graphite model...

 23.
Tim, According to the specs they will only handle 200W RMS, so you would blow them up pretty quickly if your mixer is 600W per side. They really are only suitable for vocals as they only have a 10" driver. Something like this is closer to the mark. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Class-d-CD128-500wat...1QQcmdZViewItem Or if you are di'ing bass and miking up drums, try this. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Class-d-CD15158-spea...oQQcmdZViewItem We had a set of Class D Tops and Bins that we bought direct from them and they were a good deal. They are excellent value for money.
Ah.... you may not blow them....... depends how you use them..... Generally you would use a larger power amp to drive any speaker so you don't start to introduce any distortion into the signal path... just be careful.... I have to agree that these would be no good for the size venue your suggesting. you will be better off with 15" drivers and 3-400 watts.... For the record I used a pair of Class D tops once........ absolute pants.... sounded dreadful.
