    I've been using a Tonex One for ampless guitar in a covers band for a few months and have absolutely loved it. I'll use it either straight into the desk or into the FX return of a house amp (if there is one) with the IRs turned off. So long as the monitoring is ok, no complaints (and if the monitoring is crap, I have a Behringer P2 and in ears and will just take a line from whatever wedge is nearest). Now I'm playing bass for that same covers band, I'm going to give it a go again for ampless bass tones.

    Yeah so our rig revolves around a 12-channel Behringer Mixer, 2x 1500w tops and 4 wedges. The mixer allows for us two send out two independent mixes to the wedges, so we usually have one mix for guitars/bass, and one for singer and drummer (singer occasionally just takes house mix). I wanted to go ampless mostly because I'm the only person in the band who doesn't drive a little hatchback, so all of that gear is my responsibility to lug around. There's not much room left in the car after that for an amp.

    After playing mostly guitar for a few years I am now the bass player of a band following a lineup change. As a guitarist, I would go ampless wherever I could. The band has it's own PA system and in scenarios where we'd use other people's PAs they could always handle both guitarists in the band being ampless - most of these gigs were at bigger clubs where we'd have a promoter-supplied PA and soundman. But now I'm not sure what to do. The same equipment (Tonex One and DI box) can be used to go ampless for bass, but seeing as our own PA doesn't have a woofer or anything, will I regret not having a bass amp to add some proper low end?

    We have recently been informed our bassist will be leaving us in a few months to attend University. Which is a real ball buster because we had a good thing going and we're hoping to start gigging soon. So now we're looking for a new one. We're aged between 26-32, are made up of both male and a female members and play a bunch of pop punk, indie, grunge and alt rock numbers, with a crowd pleaser or two thrown in. Everything from Blink182 to Pixies to Cyndi Lauper. We'd be willing to put our gigging ambitions on hold for a little while to allow any new bassist to get settled in properly. There's no expectation on anyone being Les Claypool or Geddy Lee straight away, we'll take anyone as long as their attitude is right and they turn up and enjoy themselves.     I've had Amplug for a while but never use it. I thought I may as well sell it on as I'm sure someone out there may have use for it if they're in a household with any WFHers and thus are limited on noise. As I say, I've barely used it but £25 delivered within UK assuming PPG. Will email pictures if anyone is interested.

    I've picked this bass up for the first time in a few months (been playing the geetar recently) and instantly remembered why I loved it so much. Naturally I had to come back and look through the build thread again. Still made up with it.

One knob wonder that really brings out the drive in your amp. Could imagine it being great into a Marshally amp - £20 Otalgia Hyperion Fuzz - Big Muff on roids - £25 Otalgia Triangle Muff - Dark, muddy, fuzzy goodness. This would be awesome for filthy bass riffage - £20. TC Electronic Hall of Fame - MK1, comes with box and cable - £60 Sold: Boss TU-3 - £40 Joyo American Sound - £20 Will send pictures on request. All prices include P&P and assume Paypal Gift payment. Multiples may be cheaper due to postage costs. May trade for Tubescreamer or Blues Driver or something along those lines, or one of ThorpyFXs many lovely pedals as I vowed to myself I'd get one on the board this year.

    Selling my Laney Cub 12. This is the non-reverb version but has had speaker upgrade to a Celestion Vintage 30, and the valves have been replaced to: 2 Specially Selected Harma ECC83-Retro - one was damaged and was replaced by Watford Valves with a more expensive Groove Tube 12AX7M 1 Specially Selected & Balanced Harma ECC83-Retro for the phase splitter 2 Specially Harma EL84 Retro matched pair The amp sounds like a halfway house between Marshall and Vox. It's hard to explain other than it sounds distinctly "British". Gets very loud when turned up, but can be tamed to bedroom levels with the <1W setting. On/off LED isn't working but that's an easy fix and its never bothered me. Only selling as I want something more Fendery or out-and-out Voxy. If you have something along those lines (HRD, AC10, similar) and are interested in a trade with a bit of cash adjustment either way then let me know. Otherwise price is £160 collected from Birmingham, which I think is more than fair given the money put into upgrades. Have nothing to post it in but could deliver not too far away for petrol pennies.

    Another day, another clear out. First up is the Boss BD-2 Blues Driver. Everyone should try one. It does all kinds of drive tones and they're famous for a reason. £40. Danelectro FAB Delay pedal - honestly not a bad delay pedal. Don't be put off by the plastic shell and the ugly yellowish colour, this is a great pedal - £10 Blaxx Tuner - cheapo do-a-job-tuner. Big, bright LED screen is easy to see when activated, and has never let me down in the 5 years I've had it. It's done some gigs but you'd never tell, still in great condition. Only selling because of a recent TU-3 purchase - £10 Tone City Angel Wing Chorus - Good little chorus pedal, truth be told, but trying to downsize so need to say goodbye - £20 MXR Custom Badass '78 Distortion - MXR's take on the Boss Distortion CIrcuit, modded for a bit more tonal versatility and the crunch switch adds some bonus grunt to it. Really versatile, doing everything from grunge sounds to Satriani style saturation - £45 All prices assume PPG and add £4 on for UK Mainland Delivery, unless you buy multiples, then I'll work out postage.
