Total Watts

  1. Got the mixer in yesterday afternoon. It wasn't supposed to arrive until Wednesday, but sure enough, Gear4Music somehow managed to get it to me less than 36 hours after I bought it online. Tried the Behringer X Air app on android, absolute crap. Tried MX Mix, marginally better. Tried Mixing Station, and now won't be going back to either of the other two apps. Just been able to plug some guitars, a mic and my bass in so far, trying to hash out the input gain levels for our band by using the same gear as will be used by them. So far, a lot easier to use than people seemed to suggest.
  2. I've just put Maccabees on. Good to see them back together. They were one of the first bands I ever saw live in my early teens, and have always been one of my favourites. Was gutted when they split up.
  3. Doherty did an interview not long ago - he's moved to the South of France and, his words, replaced his heroin addiction with a cheese addiction.
  4. He's the sort of bloke who I think would be brilliant to have a pint with but by the time you've stuck around for a third or fourth he'd probably start getting on your nerves. And I mean that in the sincerest, nicest way possible.
  5. Catching up with Inhalers set now. My favourite bass tone of the festival so far - I really need to get a p bass. Edit - he's now pulled out the gold Jack Casady which also sounds fantastic and is making me think maybe it's actually the Ampeg behind him that I want.
  6. Don't call the Script an Indie band. They're CD-player-in-middle-aged-womans-car-music at best.
  7. That's nothing, Simon Neil of Biffy Clyro got through half a dozen strats and a 335 yesterday.
  8. My dad was a massive Gary Numan fan back in the day. He's text me to say "are you watching Glastonbury Festival H? Gary Numan one of my favourites he don't half look strange now"
  9. In fairness, he's doing a lot better than some of the dinosaurs still trying to play these sorts of shows over the past few years. That GnR set from a couple of years ago still makes me cringe just thinking about it - such was the "quality" of Axl Rose's "singing".
  10. Same band that also openly praise Hamas and Hezbollah at their gigs, and tell their audiences things like "the only good Tory is a dead Tory, kill your local MP". Only to then be called out on it in light of things like the murders of Jo Cox and David Amess, and issue a half arsed apology that just screams "we're not sorry for what we did, only sorry we got caught". No, I'm not a fan. They seem like they all need a slap.
  11. Fiscal irresponsibility means I need to balance my finances, so I'll take £120 if someone comes and picks the guitar up within the next week.
  12. There are a couple of basses I have my eye on so make me a lowball offer and I might just accept.
  13. I haven't watched the English Teacher set but if the consensus from people who have seen it is anything to go by, I think it'll be the first thing I put on when I'm back home later today. Also going to try and find the Fratellis and Ash sets from yesterday if I can. Very much looking forward to watching Maccabees tomorrow night too.
  14. As a show of hands from the people complaining, is your taste in music: A: purely music over 30 years old and firmly placed in the classic rock camp (IE- Guns n Roses, AC/DC, any of a number of other bands still touring but sounding like shite because they're clearly too old to still be doing it) Or B: never been particularly popular, like some of this assemblage-of-words-and-throw-"core"-on-the-end that only real nerds of the genre have heard of (looking at you, "post-folkcore").
  15. There's been some good acts on today - Supergrass, Franz Ferdinand, Alanis Morisette, Biffy Clyro and now 1975 and Fratellis. I get it might not be everyone's cup of tea, but they are mine, and these are all bands/artists that are either currently popular or have been at some point in the past 30 years.
