  1. Cuzzie

    feedback for Deedee

Great chap to deal with, easy transaction and paid up super quick - hope you enjoy the status neck!
  2. I just recently got the Boss VE20 to have a dabble at what it does, but this looks a whole leap better - if we get out and about again, could be a good one to get
  3. That’s completely correct and thanks for your kind words. To me the the key is to think about how you want to relic and what you want it to look like-just taking a band saw to it is not right.
  4. That is cool as is she cheers for that
  5. Closer photo of the bubble appearance and bottom of the bass, Obligatory dog in the background
  6. Slightly better photo of the crazing
  7. Another very light relic, some by accident, some by design. The long scratch near the bridge is a drill accident during various mods to fit the Seymour Duncan Rickenbacker pick ups in
  8. Thanks. It’s a PJB Bass cub - 100w 2 inputs for another bass or microphone, one of the best DI’s out there as well and pretty enough that Mrs Cuzzie allows it out and not hidden
  9. That’s sladerous
  10. Was his name Marc?
  11. One of those USB things you plug in?
  12. Gloves I think you mean
  13. Not true - if you listen to most people apparently you just tie it to your car and drive down the motorway....🤔😉 It is good fun to try
  14. Relic if you mess it up, strip it and finish again
  15. I have o say some of my fave marks were proper accidents and I’ll get the other basses out tomorrow. Changing a bridge or something and accidentally popping a drill mark - I suppose that’s a genuine patina, but other stuff with that gold one is after finishing I just took it around the house with me, if I went to rehearsal, took the bass without a gig bag so it picked up a dink, things like that
  16. For the bubble effect on the belly cut/mid back body - I originally wanted to create mild crazing using a heat gun and then popping int the freezer, but I heated too long/got too close. Popped it in the freezer for 20 mins straight after, popped the bubbles and hey presto - happy accident There is a mild effect on the forearm contour to this end as well
  17. Geddy’s book is bass is good for relics, loads of images and sandbergs as well. I decided to look at how I wear the bass, where I play it and carry it and how and do I think I would wear and tear it. So........Completely blank bass, I stained the whole bass (similar to what @hooky_lowdownsaid tea or if you soak wire wool in vinegar for 24 hours that solution produces a certain colour ) I used an amber and brown wood stain mix to get the colour of the wood, applying and sanding till correct after flaming the grain to bring it out. white primer, gold over I wanted gold to wear down to white, to wear down to wood. i used a mixture of heat/freeze, wire wool, sanding, stones and carrying it around to get this wear pattern. works for me
  18. @Chienmortbb that was dangerous - just ordered some stuff from that site Great web site
  19. Gold dust post that - always here to learn thanks
  20. I’ve never used all the arms but it makes me feel like Dr Octapus
  21. And I cannot believe MM have not done a TC sig. They do cool stuff like Albert Lee, St Vincent, Joe Petrucci, Lukaker - Tim and a Ray is pretty iconic, but maybe it’s because he uses his stock?
  22. Same here with Sig’s - if they have changed something then cool, if it’s just a name stamped on a normal bass - rubbish. For example Sandberg sig models are all slightly different from the standard line, pick up placements are ever so slightly changed for a different sound Compared to the standard model it will look like
  23. I can speak for Sandberg happily and say that if you haven’t tried one before, th et are incredibly consistent across the range in terms or neck profile, they are all plek’d etc. If they have a MarloweDK in store - that is a different neck profile to the others. There is a PMT in Leeds - you could try them and see - it may be that the feel is a non starter for you no matter what the weight is. I presume they would also have a Stingray Special to try to. If you like a Sandy you may then opt for a blind buy new knowing you can in all likelihood send back, or jump on a used one if it becomes available? May be a plan?
  24. Aren’t all shops allowed to open on Monday? Maybe you can find somewhere that has as many of the ones you like in stock and have a noodle
