  1. The amp is rackable, there was a guy on TB who showed a solution, think it's 2U space.

MIDI, I will give you that one, but I find it versatile enough with its stock sound and a couple of pedals out front adding stuff when I need

  2. Products i mentioned are fully isolated.
Cioks also has variable voltage switches per slot so depending on your pedal and the correct cable you can stack voltage or mAs.

Hotstone deluxe was people from voodo lab going off and doing their own thing, Cioks speaks for itself.

    Time to get buying!

  3. I would say add in an octave pedal to help fill the void.
EBS Octabass is Ok, but I only had it on a gentle setting, simiarly the EHX POG is good, but gives you a polyphonic artificial sound to my mind. MXR bass octave deluxe is also a good pedal.

Fuzz wise it's really difficult, the big muff Pi I did not like, it's mushy, and this could just be me but I think fuzz won't necessarily fill out the sound but give it less clarity.

Another would be a clean boost pedal, so no effects but push your sound forward just a touch, may make your amp clip a little to let the sound break up if that's what you want depending on your amp.
Good example of a clean boost is a creation audio Mk4.23.

Lastly maybe a chorus pedal, the MXR bass chorus deluxe os fantastic, leaves the bottom end mainly alone, you can dial in the slightest chorus, and it has a flanger option.

Hope it helps, sorry if it was a little off the original question

  4. If you go to the pedal train web site it has a pedalboard builder so you can judge your size required.

If you want it bombproof and don't mind the weight get one with a flight case, otherwise the soft case is fine.

Depending how big you go power wise the bigger board use a decibel11 Hotstone deluxe, good value, excellent power source.

Smaller board like a metro a Cioks DC5 fits underneath or Cioks Adam as it can link into another Cioks power supply if you want a 2 board split you can link to make one big one.

To buy room on the board use EBS flat cables

  5. Tonne all these ads are interesting, please no offence to gigging musicians, but I am glad I am not one for my living.

I with another couple of guys who are mates play together each week and are trying to write our own stuff.
I love the process and the prospect of getting our own tunes and hopefully gigging them, but we all have jobs and families and fit it around that.

  6. Nicely done

Great review and it would almost be word for word what I would think about those amps for me.

Does your Sandberg have the Delano pups or the Sandberg ones?

My friend and I both have saandbergs and DG amps. He has a TT with Delano's and I have the MarloweDK with Sandberg's. inherently the voicing makes for quite different sounds even when we are set at about the same, and he could not find a useable tone to his ears on a P bass, but the Jazz was king.

It's wonderfully interesting the little things that make the amps, but for me as you adeptly described it, having less bass boom in the DG compared to Mesa, lets me not get lost, but I then have the drive for a little extra oomph on the microtubes circuit.
The DG also plays very Nicely with pedals infront of it.

Thanks again for your thoughts and review

  7. Ha!
Vikings are implicated amongst other things (link becoming more tenuous), but there is no way you are getting Lagertha as you shield maiden, she's all mine!

Definitely a disease of the west though, you do not see it in East Asians

Looks like you had a limited fasciectomy.

Keep an eye on it, if you get it young it can be a sign that it could be more aggressive disease, hence earlier intervention

  8. That Easton hand link is not band actually.

I am medical and have been involved with treatment.

Generally surgical options are not considered until the first knuckle is bent at about 20 degrees and unable to be straightened.
This being bent is not too much of an issue playing as it has to be bent anyway holding the neck, if it gets past this then absolutely something needs to be done.

If you disease is located to the palm only, then that is what will happen and in a lot of ways more easily rectifiable and more treatment options.

If it goes past this and onto the finger that is when it can pull it down and stays flexed into the palm and if left too long is a more serious operation.

Keep trying to stretch it out, simple things like always pushing your hand flat onto the table or a book on your lap while watching telly.
Ultimately it just depends how quickly your disease progresses as to what happens, sometimes it can lay dormant for a long time and then accelerate , but monitoring and a prompt referral are corner stones and if you have an operation after, hand physiology.

PM me if you want, and let me know what area in the country you are, I will see if I know who is good to go to if you need to

    Cheers

  9. I have to disagree with the weight point, especially with the newer generation ones.
My MarloweDK is really light and very well balanced.

Lovely bass by the way, my next bass will be a Sandberg but just a straight VS4. GLWTS

  10. I bought a bass off a guy on TB in the USA.

    Very smooth transaction.
He offered to take the neck off or post whole.
The postage cost was $110 so not prohibitive.
It was packaged and packaged very well.
He declared a value less than what it was was import fee was reasonable.
Very nice gentleman and have stayed in touch from time to time.
Took about 2-3 weeks in total and was cheaper than getting a similar bass over here.

    All in all very pleasant

  11. I have a Hartke HD25

Cheap as chips, gets loud enough to practice in one of our garages with a 15w Tech21 guitar amp and drums.

You can extrapolate through to a higher wattage Hartke and it will be fine.

If you want to save pennies get a second hand one, I think there is an Orange Combo amp going on Facebook which will be decent.

I wouldn't go lower than 25 watts though

  12. @Sarlscharisma - don't worry you will enjoy it, and its a damn fine looking one as well. The number 8 neck is super silky smooth and fast. It's a real head turner in looks and power in the pick ups will blow you away. Let's hope parcelforce take as much care of it as i did and you will
