think i have a problem with my truss rod!!!
ziggydolphinboy replied to ziggydolphinboy's topic in Repairs and Technical
Hi Pete, i just played it again this morning and it plays amazing and sounds awesome (its got nortstrands and opb3 in it). soo i defo wana keep it, i dont know what series the pictures are in but yes its the picture with the string missing where the nut has dropped down, i cant get an allen key in there so i may try (carefully) a pair of bullnosed pliers with a cloth round them just to start it off then get an allen key in it. i cant seem to push the rod back in or up as you said but i can wiggle the silver nut a lilttle bit so i hope its just come lose, illl read your'e reply again and let you know. thank you for your'e time . kindest regards ziggy. -
Hi Guys , need some advice, bought this nice bass from bulgaria (i took a chance )and there are a few bits that are nigly Couple of joint gaps neck pick up could slighty be better positiond and the bridge seems to set a little out or not back enough.its been made lovely, i just done the action and intonation, the neck is gorgeous and it looks great , it sounds the nuts through my tascam bass trainer!!! but i got a Major issue with the truss rod ssems to be 'dropping' out of the bass. in the original picys you can just see the trust rod nut under the neck, when the bass arrived i noticed that the nut seems to be so far down in the little cavity that you put youre allen key into and i doubt wether you can now get an allen key in there. Bit gutted and dont know what to do i could leave it but i think the truss rod could do with a little turn to get the action nicer and worried that i shouldnt leave it like that. i suppose i cant grumble the bass only set me back £650.00 but want it to be right :- a.beacause i want to feel comfortable about the bass b.if i want to sell it i the future i wont sell it with a any issues any thoughts? pictures show the nut/rod before and after delivery. kindest regards. ziggy.

WITHDRAWN, gonna keep this baby for a while. Hi Everyone one, i got a serious gas going on so i gonna try and sell my jazz 4, IMPORTANT BIT= If i cant selll this and secure another bass at the same time illl have to withdraw it even if i have serious interest or a buyer. sorry but we alll know how it is with gas. ok heres the deal Its an ostinato tribute jazz bass,sn oo5 emg pups , agy opb2 ,18 volts. tulip wood top, rosewood neck, bides eye maple neck and top, black hardware, individual brigde units. recently set up by gallery strung with drs. hard case , marvel straplocks and a stand if buyer collects. plays like a dream great sounding cuts through in a band situation lots of headroom even though its 2 band eq, good to slap and the brigde pick up sound is awesome, harmonics are all there too. bought this off of bubinga5 a good few months ago , and shes never let me down it got me back into playing a four string. only one mark on the fretboard(looks like it was in the wood and has been filled when the bass was made , did ask at the gallery and they said it wasn't anything to worry about),i also was going to get a ramp and an aguilar opb3 preamp put into it but i asked alex tp try it and we both agreed that it was kool as it was. case isnt perfect but really fits the bass well. No other Marks ,mint condition, . you are welcome to try it and maybe that would be better wouldnt want to send it but could if nessescary. once again guys cant let this go if i cant secure other one as ill be without a four and would maybe find it hard to get one like this . This owes me around £625 (this includes buying it ,new strings ,set up,cost of del and i used the case for my shuker for this bass as it wouldnt fit into a ebs case that i bought) So im asking for £550 straight sale.
I know me saying this wont help you but damnit i just came close to spending my student loan on this. (however i dont think i can really justify buying it as i could probably do with using the money to buy food and also i dont think i'd do it justice. however it does look damn nice. Gold hardware, very nice.) have a bump on me.
bump on me too absolutely lovely.
Can I interest you in an amazing rack compressor! Infact, TWO compressors in one box! )
Hello there, i am toying with getting a rack set up was thinking of the alesis qudraverb and a compressor, not sure about multi effects on bass, i play in a soul band and occasionally a rock covers band and very ocasionally a funk covers band, i got a trace smx head and nice basses , so was wondering wether i should just tweak the compressoer on my head? forgive me for being a numpty but am a right in thinking with compression you can get nicer tones ie for slap and tightness etc? kindest regards ziggy.
