More proof that you can't kill a 90s Peavey.

This was manufactured in 1981, it was unused for about 14 years, then used for a couple of hours, then in storage  again for 16 years!

There’s a 300 on eBay and not a million miles from me but I’d guess that they are well over 40kg. I don’t need another stay in hospital!

    With back or ears?

  4. Where do I start, ahem....

Evri- these clowns had lobbed parcels over my fence, or said  they could not deliver due to bad weather. When I called them I asked them what the weather was over there which they confirmed being confused " lovely"( where the depot was) ,then I claimed the days weather forecast  was 15 degrees C, sunny then I quoted their message " unable to deliver due bad weather", they said yes but no but...this was when you could actually call them. Recently they said we refused to accept the parcel, we were in all day...and I could go on.

Royal mail delivery, they threw an LP with stickers all over "fragile" over the fence. They delivered my parcel to the wrong street, they deliver d someone else's letters to us, when I told Pat it was the wrong address he told me to take it to the correct address, he was few steps from my front door. Pat then said if you want to complain you can, he shrugged his shoulders, but reluctantly took the letters off me.

Ableton DAW, always crashes, customer support is shocking....

    Every budget airline!

Of course - I used to use a pair of Boss LS-2 for my set up and make sure they were next to each other on my board so I could hit them both at the same time if needed.

It's a great idea to get some paper and draw out your signal chain - makes the wiring up process a lot easier.

Good idea ,my wiring looks like spaghetti junction.

Bright Onion make a 3-way amp splitter. Palmer used to make one too but I can't seem to find it any more.

Seems like a lot of trouble to go to given that most audiences won't be able to hear the difference.

I'll do a research, I'm the only audience by the way.

  7. Can I connect ABY pedal to another ABY pedal or connect another ABY pedal to the existing chain.

My bass is connected like this, bass goes into tech 21 then compressor then hartke pedal then  EQ then to ABY pedal Y input.

A signal from ABY pedal goes into  Aural exciter channel 1 then output into amp 1 input.

B signal from ABY pedal goes into Aural exciter channel 2 then output into amp 2 input.

I want to hook up the third amp. Can I take the output two from Aural Exciter (which is the last pedal/rack in the chain) and plugged into a othe ABY pedal, then use A for amp two input and B for amp three input.

The reason I initially use two amps is that I can blend the two amps together and get the Steve Harris sound. With the third amp I can add a bit more bottom end or mid depending which era I'm playing.

As with my pedal chain, the combination of the pedals gives me different Maiden tone depends which song I play. Usually it's the tech 21 on its own through exciter.

That looks great after all those years. I’d love to be reunited with my old Combo 300. Doubt very much that I could lift it now. I struggled with it when I was in my late teens!

Unbelievable feeling, sat unused sitting in a box. No issues lifting it for me., but yeah weighs like an elephant baby.

  9. Last week, I was reunited with the very first amp I bought in 1990, a Peavey combo 26Oc mark III.  I bought it second hand and used it for rehearsals and gigs. In the mid 90's I stupidly lent it to the band I had played in and some idiot who ran the village hall where the band rehearsed used it without anyone's permission for a DJ night. Since then the amp sounded distorted. It then sat in a garage until late 2000s when I used it a couple of times. Last time I used it was about 16 years ago, still a horrible distorted sound. Then it sat in a garage with temperatures as high as 30+ C in summer, and -15 C in winter. It was covered with a thick blanket inside if a flight box. I had it sent to me,it traveled in a back of a courier van for about 1000 miles. When it arrived , I unpacked it and   plugged it in through a European to UK conversation plug , and didn't even turn on. I called a repair shop in Kent, who will take a look at it for me  in January.Today, I removed the amp from the cabinet , checked the internal fuse, put a UK plug on. Plugged it in and nothing, gave the kettle lead a bit of a wiggle this was followed by a huge pop. Plugged the bass in and  for some mysterious reason it plays, clean sound.Very loud. The distortion from years ago has gone. I hope there was some residue stuck inside the speaker that caused the distortion and it somehow moved during the  transport. The switches are very crackly but a good old contact spray may sort it. I still may have it serviced. This beast is heavy, 33 kg. Tomorrow I replace the kettle lead and have some fun playing through it.

That was really hard to watch in a sad way . You can see Nicko struggling . Bruce seemed to be as well imho.

50 years , huge achievement . Looking at this , I think they should call it a day .

Totally agreed, have been a Maiden fan since early 80's, my always No1 band, and my thoughts are the same. Didn't Maiden record new material with Nicko that's due out on April 2025? Is the title of the tour ' Run for your lives ' a hint ...

Steve won't pull a plug on Maiden, sold out venues , he loves being on stage.

Nice memento , do you still have it?

I remember a mate coming back from an early Maiden gig, clutching a very splintered stick with the phrase CLIVE BURR HIT 'EM HARD printed on it.

I do indeed, but I just admit it's been in the loft for nearly a decade , I've got to dig it out and frame it with Steve Harris signed t shirt.

Much respect to Nicko; a superb drummer and a nice guy, by all accounts.  I caught one of his skins at a gig in Manchester about 12 years ago and gave it to a drummer friend who wasn't able to go.

I caught his drum stick during the Maiden England Tour in 2013 at a European festival. In fact I saw Maiden England three times, the original in 88 then twice in 2013. I've been trying to catch Steve's sweat band for decades 😄, even in a small venue during British Lion gig it's impossible.

Shame really . Awesome drummer and top bloke .
Takes me back to when I was at home ( somewhere on time tour ) . Friends had a spare tkt at hammy O . They got chatting to Niko in the Duke of Cornwall pub next door . " get your A*se down here ! "Is what Niko shouted to me on the phone 🙂 so I did . Made it in time !

Seems sad to think of a replacement , temporary or otherwise . I'd say it'd be a British drummer fwiw .

I do wonder how long they can go on for . Bruce looks gaunt with his own health issues , and his vocal range is more ltd obviously . They've done it all , but I wouldn't be too surprised if they called it a day within the next 5 years ,sad as it is ..

When Maiden looked for Bruce's replacement there were rumours I read somewhere have James LaBrie or Michael Kiske, but I believe it was Steve who insisted a British singer would join Maiden.

As for Nicko, I think it was during the Book of Soul tour I bought a last minute ticket almost the side of the stage, so I watched guitar tech stringing up Steve's bass , with Steve, Janick and Nicko at the backstage.

I remember shouting 'Nicko...'. he looked in my general direction and waved making a silly face.

There were rumours that Dave has been getting tired of touring.  Bruce and Steve are very active on the projects and Adrian just released a new single...so who knows what the future holds. Could ' Run for your Lives Tour' be the finale?

  14. Anyone can guess the new drummer?

    Joe Lazarus

    Mike Portnoy

    Ghost' drummer?

Before anyone beats me to it , it won't be Lars.. apparently the drummer is already chosen and will be announced today. Anyone reads anything reliable online, please update.

Our drummer said that apparently NMcB had a stroke a while back, and that although he was still playing he was no longer able to do what he used to. Probably the best thing to do, shame though.

Yes I'm aware, it was a bit noticeable when I saw them last time in 2023, during Caught Somewhere in Time song. But only because I know the songs. He still nailed it though. Well, I'm still keeping my ticket for 2025.

  16. Left Maiden, tonight is his last show.

Nicko has released a statement to fans confirming that tonight's concert in Sao Paolo will be his last with Iron Maiden.

Apparently extensive touring he had been through some health problems nit that long ago.

  17. Plenty of bargains in Marketplace on BC. In teram of studio monitors, I bought a reasonable cheap Presonus E4.5 for music production, they are decent when playing bass, guitar or keyboards plugged in Interface, laptop with VST. See picture for back of monitor. Many years ago I bout the basic 2i2 focusrite scarlet, and the free version of Ableton as a starting point, since then ...well all know what GAS does to you
