  1. Thanks for the advice guys. That video link made it look fairly easy, though I'm sure using the right glue (and a proper gun) helped. I'll be sure to get in touch with Errol from Plugstudios and see how much he charges.
  2. I prefer the carpet look. I'll check out the links, cheers. I'm quite up for doing it myself, I just thought I'd check to see if a pro doing it would be relatively cheap and easy, but probably not.
  3. Hello Has anyone any words of advice regarding the re-covering of cabs? Is it expensive? Is it something I can have done locally or is it a case of getting my cab to a manufacturer. I don't have a particularly expensive cab (though I’m very happy with the sound), but its getting very tatty and bits of the covering is starting to pull off, didn’t know if its worth looking into a little cosmetic upgrade?
  4. We used to do a 2hr practise every other week, but it started to become detrimental to the actual gigs. So long as we all know our bits, it makes the gigs more enjoyable if we haven't played together for a while - and the more we enjoy playing it, the more enjoyable to listen to - I assume. Its good to be tight, but its also good to keep things fresh.
  5. I second that. Is it the link or has it been sold?
  6. Hey there fellas. I realise this is a bit of an old thread, but thought if you guys see this you might be able to help me out somewhat. I'm a local boy also, and when you started talking about local (ish) music shops it got my attention. I'm looking at buying my first decent second hand bass (I've a small collection of cheap rubbish and just want the one decent bass) I've been playing quite a while, but am a little out of the technical loop. I took a visit to all the music in cambridge little while ago but to be quite honest they were rubbish. Not unhelpful, just nothing in stock (nothing worth trying/nothing in my price range). I'm seeing some pretty interesting basses on the 'for sale' part of this site, but really need to try different basses out. I haven't been to any shops in Peterborough, nor do I know of any? Any recommendations? I know simply music in Hunts - but haven't been in recently In Cambs I went to: Arena music - good store, and a few basses, but lots of cheap ones, a few pricey ones and not much in between. Ken Stevens - Not a lot there worth playing. Plus its expensive (not that I was actually going to buy something from there) Digital village - a couple of interesting basses, but too small a selection/ shop. Any help appreciated guys. Andy
  7. There's definately something strangely attractive about this bass!
