2. As I haven't heard back from you I take it that you 're not interested part trade my lakky. a reply would be nice. thx
3.
I've always wanted to try one out
awaright you can come too.....
4.
I am going to try one of these out this week - looks quite promising. I had a good play with the m500 head and a large cab at the last bash owned by wots-his-face, it sounded great top end wise (got the perfect sound, due to the eq being able to go to 8khz plus) but the bottom end needed some tweaking, but I didn't have the time or the ability to crank it and see. Cheers ped
Hi Ped, I'm in Henley not far away from you and you are welcome to try mine if you like. cheers, carl
5. You can't compare a 2x5" practice amp with a glocken rigg!!! I personally didn't like the Suitcase but the Flightcase really ticked many of my boxes when looking for something sgreat sounding, small, portable and light for small jazz, acoustic and electric gigs. Maybe one reason why I like tha sound is that it reminds me of my larger EA setups...very clean *but pounchy) sounding....they really makes my basses justice by not colouring the sound. Oh - I bought it from Guitarworks in Reading...great shop btw.
6. Wicked! Exactly what I've been looking for! Thx!
Here is the case. It is an Explorer 13513 and I got it from Denny Diving for £230 ish inc shipping http://www.divingdirectshop.co.uk/product_...92a658e56bf9e5f It includes foam which I really butchered when I cut it. I must learn to be more patient. I will have to cover it with velvet one day. The case will not take an Undercover NS gig bag with no foam in it. I guess it would take the rubbish gig bag that comes with the NS.
7. Olla! Cris is a top bloke, very friendly and trustworthy. he's also got a good taste in basses... A top basschatter too, who not only is here to flog instruments but also participate in the bass debate.
8. warwick thumb 5er...loved the sound of it but could never find a comfy playing position and in the end my right arm started to hurt! jazz....I love the sound but find the neck way to narrow at the nut. I recenty bought a MM jazz that I had to sell after a couple of months. this must be the 5th jazz I have owned over the years jsut to realize it just doenst work..... rickenbackers....love the sound looks of them but they are completley unplayable (to me)
9. Hi I really love my EA CXL 112's...very punchy, nice bottom end and can take a lot of punishment. One is normally enough (function gigs etc), but I always user two on larger gigs. did I say that they are very light?..
10. i agree the aguliar 750 is a great amp..... works really well with schroeder cabs as well....*seems to be jorg's favourite amp btw). paired with a schro 21012....no lack of bottom end there! ampeg SVT 4Pro is also a VERY loud and great sounding amp IMHO...I used one with a schro 410 for really large outdoor gigs and never ran out of juice (monobridged in 1600w!). c
11. Hello Just picked up my new PJB Flightcase - what a great little amp! I have tried it with a not very loud function band and on a couple of jazz/acoustic gigs and as long as the volumes are moderate it sounds really good. I had no problem keeping up with a drummer and guitarist in a quite large marquee...that was pushing it a bit though as I had to run it on "9" all night.......sounded absolutely fine through PA though. My EUB has never sounded better, in fact I was thinking of getting rid of it and go DB all the way but with this combo I have a really portable solution for jazz and acoustic gigs. + it's very light! it's very light! it's very light! sounds great with 4 and 5 string electrics, EUB and acoustic bass. low b no probs! very punchy sound for it's size. great sound on stage as two of the speakers are pointing upwards....perfect for small stages, no more playing to my knees very musical eq nice optical compressor - no mute switch a stereo input would be nice for playing along to cd/mp players at home wish list: an active 150w extension cab would be great! Total score: 8/10 low B's worth giving a try! carl
12. Try an Ampeg SVT 3 and Ampeg 1x15 cabs...awsome blues/jazz/soul tones
13. For small/medium gigs without proper monitoring I'd say: - Amp slightly behind drummer, maybe angled towards the drummer - me? normally next to the hi-hat or whereever I can hear the kick clearly...mostly in front of /to the side of the drummer - I also normally run the bass through the PA and try to keep the sound on stage free from muddy low end...just to make sure everyone can hear what I'm doing - If the stage is tiny I try to angle the cab upwards to avoid playing to my knees....some gaffer tape will keep the head in place!
14. How about EBS Taurus (older) or Gorm (newer)...the 2x10 sounds awsome and with 300w you could do most gigs samll ot medium sized gigs no probs. Not so light weight tho! I personally think a head and small light cab is a better solution...more flexible, easier to carry etc etc
15. Thx. Does any on know if the MM premap is the same deisgn as in the real thing...whish I understand is Sadowsky pre.
16. HELLO! Anyone out there that has got any experience of the JRetro MM pre amp? Pros and cons please! Cheers! Carl
17. I've had three Shroeder cabs (1210, 1212 and 410) and they sounded fantastic, especialy the 410. the 1210L is a wicked cab that works great for small or mid sized gig. I don't mind the mid bump as helps carry the tone, especially in rock/pop/funk etc. Not great for upright basses though.

22. I just love my wizzy to bits so for me it's a given. I find bag end a bit to.....ehh...boomy.... and not as distinct as the EA cabs. the wizzy sounds great especially with passive basses and if you are looking for a bit of "vintage" vibe.
23. nice video! I've tried MB a couple of times and I must say that I'm not that impressed. - I had a 102Traveller cab for a while but I found that it sounded very boxy compared to other neo cabs - I have also used one of the combos at a couple of gigs (at The Bedford in London) and I have never been able to get a decent sound from that one with the exception of my pbass with flats at one of the gigs. maybe it's just no my cuppa... carl
24. Hi I'm really interested. Where are you based? Cheers, Carl
Epifani T410UL, 8 ohm, 1000 watts power handling. Lightweight 4x10, around 57lbs. Bought off Chopthebass a couple of months ago. Excellent condition. I've hardly used it, never gigged it. Recently found out it's not really suitable for my valve head (That'll teach me to buy something without doing me research, eh?) Looking for £575. Would prefer collection, but could post if necessary (at buyers expense). Simon.
